It took me a few minutes to realize why Jess looked so shocked over nothing—then it hit me.
He called me hamster?
Only Viktor ever called me that. No one else. And if Jess said it, that could only mean one thing…
I quickly sat down beside him on the bed. "What does that mean, Jess? Or should I call you Viktor?"
I had truly thought of him as Jess because I knew Viktor was supposed to be in the hospital. But no one else would ever call me hamster out of nowhere. It had to be him. I was a hundred percent sure.
"Are you going to explain or not? If you don't say anything, I won't talk to you again."
Of course, I wasn't really planning to ignore him—but I stood up quickly, pretending to leave. Just then, Viktor grabbed my hand.
I turned back and saw the sadness on his face. "Actually… it's me, Viktor."
