Tracy's POV
I did not sleep that night.
I kept replaying every second in his office — the way his voice had softened, the way he'd looked at me like I was not just another employee.
It scared me, how easily I could feel everything again.
How one person could make the air heavier, the silence louder, the world brighter.
But underneath all that… was fear.
Because I knew what falling for the wrong man could cost me.
I had been there before. I had lost too much already.
So I told myself I would not fall.
Not again.
Yet somehow, lying awake in the dark, every time I closed my eyes…
I saw him.

Ethan's POV
The next morning, I arrived earlier than usual.
The office was quiet — just the hum of lights and the faint sound of rain outside.
When I reached my desk, I saw it — a small cup of coffee waiting there, still steaming.
No note, no message. Just warmth.
I looked through the glass partition.
Tracy was at her desk, pretending to type, pretending not to notice me.
