Chapter 82 - Chapter 82 Why is there a spaceship in my cellar?

Smallville Hospital.

The father and two sons stood outside the ward.

Jonathan stood in front of the glass, arms crossed, frowning as he watched inside the ward.

Eric, meanwhile, sat on a bench in the corridor, considering the reason for his mother's collapse.

Illness?

He hadn't felt any signs or symptoms of illness from his mother.

Emotional fluctuation?

No, Martha's emotions had always been very stable; she wasn't the type to suddenly have a hysterical outburst.

Clark stood behind Jonathan, a worried expression on his face.

"Martha seemed fine all along. I don't know why it turned out this way."

Jonathan looked at his wife in the ward and said in a low voice.

"Mom will be fine."

"I know, son."

Jonathan said to Clark, "I also know she doesn't want all of us standing outside the ward watching over her. Clark, you and Eric go back first. I can stay here and watch."

"I'm not leaving."

Clark shook his head, "I'll stay with you, Dad."

"Clark, there's still a lot to do on your mother's fundraiser dinner list. You know how important the food bank is to her. She's been preparing for it for a long time."

The fundraiser dinner was a meal Martha had prepared in advance to entertain guests for Niel's Talon Club's charity concert on Saturday.

Clark wanted to say more, but seeing his father's firm gaze, he finally nodded and prepared to leave.

"Hey, Clark!"

A voice came from the corridor, and Lex Luthor appeared from one end, walking quickly towards the two.

After walking over, he first greeted Clark, then said to Jonathan, "Mr. Kent, I've already contacted the best doctors in Metropolis. They'll be here for a consultation immediately. Or Ms. Martha can be transferred to Metropolis Hospital right now."

"Thank you."

Although Jonathan didn't have a good impression of Lex, facing his timely help, his attitude softened a bit.

"What do the doctors say now?"

Lex asked Jonathan.

Before Jonathan could answer, a female doctor in a white coat came out of the ward and said to everyone, "We examined Ms. Martha's blood culture tissue. Her symptoms show an acute toxic reaction. Perhaps her blood has been contaminated in some way. We can infer that Ms. Martha was exposed to some kind of radiation or biomagnetic field."

"Lex."

The female doctor clearly knew Lex and said to the silent Lex, "I need to send the blood to the Metropolis Research Center. You'll help with this, right?"

Lex glanced at Jonathan and said, "Of course, the Kent family are all my friends, Helen."

Doctor Helen nodded, turned and looked at Martha lying in bed in the ward, "Even so, I'm still very worried about Ms. Martha and the baby's safety."

Jonathan was stunned, "What did you say, baby?"

"You didn't know?"

This time, it was Doctor Helen's turn to be stunned.

"You must be mistaken. Martha, her doctor said she could never have a baby."

Jonathan felt that the other party must be joking.

"Actually, I asked your family doctor and asked him to fax Ms. Martha's medical records to me. Although there were no problems on the medical records, some changes we don't know about might have occurred in between."

After explaining to Jonathan, Doctor Helen gave a few instructions and then left.

Leaving Jonathan somewhat at a loss.

Eric, hearing the news of his mother's pregnancy, stood up from the bench and walked outside the ward.

He was also a little surprised by this news.

Although he had x-ray vision, he never used it on his family, so he didn't know about his mother's pregnancy.

Standing by the window, he looked at his mother in the ward.

He had seen his mother in the barn where the spaceship was hidden. Could it be that when his mother was in the barn, she was accidentally harmed by the Krypton spaceship?

If it was damaged by the Krypton spaceship's radiation or energy, how could it be healed?

With his right hand on the glass, Eric fell into deep thought.

After night fell, Eric came to the hospital from the farm and told his father about his speculation, and also told Jonathan that his mother had entered the barn alone.

"I knew it."

Jonathan, sitting in the common lounge area, gave a disheartened, bitter smile, "I shouldn't have let her go to the barn. I should have stopped her."

"It's not your fault, Dad."

Eric comforted his father.

"I know, but if some things happen right in front of me, and if I can't stop them, then I can't forgive myself."

Jonathan's eyes were a little red, but he strongly held back from losing composure in front of his son.

"The doctor said the situation is a bit bad. I think that spaceship is the key. If we can activate it again, it might help cure your mother's condition."

"Hmm, I understand. Just leave the rest to me."

Eric comforted his father, then thought of the octagonal metal piece he got from Hamilton.

Perhaps that thing was the key to starting the spaceship.

Returning to the farm from the hospital, Eric used the key to open the barn and entered the place where the spaceship was hidden.

Clark was currently delivering materials to the Talon Club, so he was the only one on the farm.

He used the pulley to open the cellar door and stepped down the wooden stairs into the underground.

As soon as he entered the underground, a smell of rotting earth came over him.

Eric walked to the spaceship and lifted the plastic sheet covering it.

With a whoosh, the dark, cold spaceship appeared before Eric.

After carefully examining the spaceship, Eric took out the octagonal metal piece he had obtained from Hamilton.

Comparing it to some missing parts on the spaceship, he quickly found an octagonal gap directly above the spaceship.

Just as he was considering whether to put the octagonal metal piece on, the barn door was pushed open, and Clark's voice came.

"Hey, Eric, are you in here?"

Just as he was about to respond, Clark opened a corner of the cellar door and looked at Eric.

"Why are you hiding in this long-unused cellar?"

Clark cast his gaze in, and incidentally saw the spaceship next to Eric.

The moment his eyes saw the spaceship, he was completely stunned.

"What is this?"

After a few seconds of being stunned, Clark pushed open the cellar door and walked in.

Standing beside Eric, he stared at the spaceship in front of him with a shocked expression.

"Why is there a spaceship hidden in our cellar, and I knew nothing about it?"

Clark looked at Eric, shocked and utterly confused.
