The metal handcuffs, like paper toy handcuffs, were torn apart by him.
Eric walked to the glass, looking at General Swanwick who was watching him from outside.
General Swanwick looked at Eric on the other side of the glass in surprise.
The glass wall was one-way, only allowing viewing from outside in; how could he see him?
And in this sound-proof room, could he still hear him speak?!
"Ahem, hello, Homelander, I am—"
A white-haired scientist spoke to Eric.
"Emil Dennis, I can see your name, even though you put your name tag in your back pocket."
"Uh…"
The scientist immediately froze.
A female official standing next to him showed an incredulous expression in her eyes, "He can see us? And hear us?!"
"I also saw over 30 soldiers you arranged in the next room; you seem very concerned about your safety."
The scientist glanced at the female official and replied to Eric, "We—we have to be careful, there might be alien bacteria or something."
"Sounds like a good reason."
Eric walked to the glass wall, looking at the few people outside.
Seeing Eric walk straight towards them, the people next to him immediately recoiled in fear.
"I'm afraid what you fear isn't a virus, but me. If I were hostile to you, I would eliminate you instantly, instead of playing house with you here."
Listening to Eric's unfriendly remarks, General Swanwick was silent for a moment, then said, "It seems there's a lack of trust between us. Why can't you give us a little trust and tell us your true identity?"
"I have never given anyone trust. Let's get straight to the point: you fear me because you cannot control me, not now, nor ever!"
"No one wants to control you."
A hint of solemnity flashed in General Swanwick's eyes.
"Your eyes cannot see through anything, so I have no trust in your words, General!"
"Hmph!"
General Swanwick exhaled, looking at Eric, who was separated by a glass but whose eyes were as sharp as cold light, and whispered, "Perhaps, but now I must tell you, I have received orders to hand you over to Zod!"
Eric remained expressionless, "Then do what you must, General!"
Seeing Eric return to his seat, everyone outside the room let out a sigh of relief.
The young female official even felt her back was drenched.
Just his gaze and aura made her sweat with fear?
How powerful and terrifying could this man possibly be?!
After talking with Eric, General Swanwick walked heavy-heartedly to another room.
In the other room, General Lane was waiting inside.
"Did you find Kal and Keir?"
General Lane was temporarily confined for investigation, but his mood was clearly good.
"No, Keir appeared on his own."
General Swanwick said.
"Oh, that's not a good sign!"
General Lane showed a slight smile, "He's not an easy person to deal with. I don't believe he'll stay quietly locked up here by you. By the way, he can hear our conversation clearly. General Swanwick, you'd best be careful of his retaliation."
At this moment, General Lane recalled the situation where he was almost buried alive at the military base earlier.
"Is that so?"
General Swanwick glanced in Eric's direction, "Retaliation?"
The next day, early morning.
Near Langley Air Force Base, Virginia.
This is where the Air Force's First and 192nd Fighter Wings are located, along with the US 480th Intelligence Wing and the Air Combat Command Headquarters, making it a military base of significant importance in the United States.
Outside the air force base, American soldiers were fully armed and arrayed in formation, with tanks, armored vehicles, and various military weapons set up.
A makeshift temporary combat fortress was formed around the air force base.
The reason for such strict security was that this was the location for the transaction with General Zod.
Eric stood in front of the soldiers' position, coldly watching the distant sky.
Bang! Bang!
Two booming explosions of air sounded!
Eric cast his gaze towards the distant location where the airwave explosions occurred.
A black, beetle-like spaceship pierced through the clouds, appearing not far from Eric.
The beetle spaceship approached the ground, stirring up a swirling airflow.
After slowly landing, the spaceship's hatch opened, and three aliens, completely clad in dark armor that covered them from head to toe, emerged from within.
Seeing people emerge, General Swanwick and the officials on site all became nervous.
The guns in the soldiers' hands also felt somewhat hot.
Two Kryptonians, holding what appeared to be firearms, stood guard outside the spaceship.
The Kryptonian walking at the very front walked directly towards Eric.
"Click!"
As she walked, the armor covering her face opened, revealing a transparent visor underneath.
Everyone was then able to clearly see the alien's face beneath the transparent visor.
Black-haired, with a stunningly delicate face, long eyelashes combined with an heroic countenance, making her appear even more heroic and beautiful.
The female Kryptonian lowered her eyes, scrutinizing Eric for a moment, then raised her eyes, her expression carrying a hint of playfulness and curiosity.
"Kyle Miser? I am Sub-Commander Ophira-El, and I welcome you on behalf of General Zod!"
"Kyle Miser is not my name."
Eric said coldly.
"It's alright, on Krypton, not everyone's name is determined at birth."
Ophira turned to face the spaceship, "General Zod has been waiting for you for a long time."
Eric looked at her back, frowning as he followed her.
The military operations officer next to General Swanwick watched Eric follow the woman onto the spaceship, not even acknowledging their side, and said somewhat resentfully, "I don't know what Washington is thinking? We're doing nothing but handing him over!"
As a soldier, he felt exceptionally aggrieved.
"At least we should try!"
"Captain, that's not your concern."
General Swanwick looked at the ascending spaceship and said, "This is not our affair, but theirs."
Whoosh!
The beetle spaceship instantly broke the sound barrier, emitting a sonic boom, and disappeared into the sky.
Eric, standing inside the spaceship, continued to maintain a cold demeanor, quietly waiting for them to take him to General Zod.
Inside the spaceship, besides Ophira, the other armed Kryptonians kept their gaze on Eric, who was said to be the last survivor of Krypton.
