Chapter 280 - Chapter 280 Mera, on the other side, was also deeply surrounded.

Mera, on the other side, was also deeply surrounded.

"Ah!"

His arm was bitten by a Merman, blood gushed out, and Arthur cried out in pain.

After punching away the Merman that bit him, Arthur endured the pain and moved forward, only to be hit by a Merman charging from behind.

On the other side, Mera controlled the water to blast the nearest Mermen, but more and more Mermen, dense and fearless, charged at her, instantly putting her in a difficult situation.

Just as she was gradually falling into despair, she suddenly felt a warmth on her back, in the spot where Eric had once touched her.

The next second, a golden light emanated from outside the cavern entrance, illuminating the entire Merman "birthing chamber!"

The golden light, carrying stored heat, shone on Mera, making her feel as if her fatigue was being healed.

The surrounding Mermen, upon seeing the sudden light, shrieked and fled backward.

Arthur, surrounded by Mermen, also saw the sudden light.

A light of hope, like salvation, enveloped him.

Whoosh!

A current of water was pushed aside in the ocean, and a Staff pierced through the water, rushing towards Arthur, who gripped it tightly in his hand.

"Buzz!"

The moment he grasped Eric's Star Scepter, an invisible wave spread outwards, and all the Mermen attacking Arthur were shaken and fled away.

With an incredible light in her eyes, Mera blurted out, "The lost Trident?!"

But then she felt it was wrong; the Trident was not shaped like this at all.

Arthur, of course, knew what this was; it was Eric's Star Scepter!

Was Eric sending the Star Scepter to help him at his most crucial moment?

"Thanks, brother!"

Arthur didn't know if he was speaking to the Star Scepter or to Eric.

Taking a deep breath underwater, he raised the Star Scepter with one hand, pointing it high towards the sky.

Infinite light emanated from it, causing all Mermen to be illuminated and flee backward.

After using the Star Scepter to clear a path, Arthur quickly moved to the vicinity of the volcano.

He aimed the Star Scepter at the volcano and plunged it in forcefully.

Boom!

A massive explosion resounded at the bottom of the sea, and the gushing flames instantly enveloped the entire Merman nest.

Countless Mermen, unable to dodge in time, were blown into fragments by the encroaching explosion.

The Merman Queen, located in the very center, only managed to let out a mournful shriek before being engulfed by the flames erupting from the volcano.

Arthur, meanwhile, grabbed the wall holding the cocoons with Mera and rapidly shot upwards.

Amidst the rumbling, muffled sounds, the two escaped the cavern before the explosion.

Before leaving, Arthur glanced at the Merman nest at the bottom of the sea, a sorrowful expression on his face.

"Atlantis? It's not all beautiful!"

Arthur said to himself in his heart as he floated towards the surface.

"Splash!"

The water surface made a crisp sound, and ripples spread outwards.

Rachel lifted her head from the basin.

Her face entirely wet and her hair damp, the girl giggled at Eric.

The location was Kent Farm, and Eric was standing by the window, watching in the direction of Arthur and Mera.

Since they had successfully escaped danger, it wouldn't be long before Mera led Arthur to find Atlantis.

As for Arthur's promise to him, he only hoped that he still remembered some of it.

Eric's eyes narrowed.

Hearing the sound of water, he turned his gaze to his sister, who was still not behaving while washing her hair.

"Rachel, don't waste water when you wash your hair, didn't Mom tell you?"

Eric walked over to Rachel, casually picked up a towel, and went to her side to wipe her hair.

Rachel looked very happy as Eric wiped her hair and face.

She closed her eyes, letting the somewhat rough towel, which she disliked, rub against her face.

"I remember, but Mom isn't home right now, so if I waste a little water, Mom definitely won't scold me."

Rachel said self-righteously.

"Then I'll scold you on Mom's behalf."

Eric tapped his sister's forehead.

"Hehe, then I won't be upset either, if big brother scolds me."

Shaking her short black hair, Rachel giggled and said.

"Hey, Eric, Rachel!"

Clark suddenly walked in from outside, carrying his bag.

Seeing Eric wiping Rachel's hair, Clark asked his sister, "Rachel, you're squandering water resources again. Remember last time you turned on the faucet and made all the sheep on the farm run everywhere? You had to stand in the corner!"

Clark immediately exposed his sister's shortcomings.

Rachel glanced at Clark and snorted.

But then, as if she had discovered a new continent, she ran to Clark's side, looking up at her brother, who was over one meter ninety, with surprise.

"Clark, you're wearing strange glasses!"

"You should call me Big Brother Clark!"

Clark, wearing black-rimmed plain glasses, reached out and touched Rachel's slightly damp hair, saying, "Don't you think Big Brother looks a bit handsome like this?"

In reality, he was afraid that some people would recognize him as Superman, which is why he wore the black-rimmed glasses to conceal himself.

"Hmm…"

Rachel touched her face with one hand and tilted her head, "You are a bit handsome, but still a bit far from Big Brother Eric. I know Big Brother Eric has a fan club at school, full of pretty older sisters, and they even treated me to delicious KFC kids' meals."

"Uh…"

Listening to his sister's blow, Clark felt a bit dejected.

By the way, why was his luck with women always not as good as Eric's?!

When Rachel ran upstairs "thump, thump, thump" to use the hairdryer, Clark put down his backpack and sat on the sofa.

"You've learned to hide yourself, Clark?"

Eric casually said to his older brother.

"Sometimes we all have to hide ourselves. Isn't it normal to wear a mask when socializing in society?"

Clark shrugged and said to Eric.

"That's true. You've grown a lot, Clark."

"Perhaps. Ever since I put on that suit, I truly feel a sense of relief and maturity. I find that I can calmly reconcile with my past self. Ever since Alicia died, I've been trying hard to forget that pain. If the pain can't be forgotten, then it means I can't forgive my past self, can't reconcile."

Clark stood up and looked into Eric's eyes, "We will all grow up eventually. Before, it was Eric and Clark, now it's Homelander and Superman."

(Homelander and Superman arc ends, next arc enters Injustice League.)
