Five o'clock in the afternoon.
New York, John Fitzgerald Kennedy International Airport.
Sergeant George Stacy of the 19th Precinct of the New York Police Department, feeling like he was about to go crazy, was pacing back and forth near the exit.
Good heavens!
His carefully raised cabbage had finally attracted the attention of a wild boar.
And a wild boar at that.
But that wasn't the point.
The point was, judging from the current situation, it seemed, it appeared, that his own cabbage had actively sought out the wild boar.
George found it hard to understand, but that wasn't the point anymore.
At this moment, George had only one thought in his mind.
He wanted to shoot the wild boar that had kidnapped his cabbage.
Just then,a flight from Haggs Regional Airport in Maryland, arriving in New York, began disembarking.
George, pacing back and forth, took a deep breath, stood at the exit, and looked inside.
The next moment, his breathing became rapid again.
Jesus Christ.
What did he see?
His precious daughter holding hands with some random, handsome...wild boar?
George's face instantly darkened.
The others waiting to pick up their children seemed to sense a chill, glancing at George instinctively before moving away.
Finally, the couple who had just started dating also felt the intense coldness as they disembarked.
Gwen glanced instinctively in the direction of the chill, then quickly released Hawke's right hand: "Shit, it's Daddy."
Hawke immediately saw Sheriff George Stacy standing at the exit, dressed in a black suit, his righteous expression now radiating a chilling aura.
Their eyes met.
He could see the wariness and scrutiny in Sheriff George Stacy's gaze.
This was understandable.
Hawke thought that if it were him, and his daughter had run off without a word and returned with a man, he would probably be even angrier than George Stacy.
Breaking that wild boar's leg would be too lenient.
What?
Now the wild boar is himself?
Oh.
That's alright then.
Hawke thought to himself.
But he was still a little curious about how he and Gwen had gotten to the point of holding hands.
His memories were a mess.
But he was happy.
As he said before,Hawke had thought about dating, especially dating Gwen Stacy, Marvel's first and only officially recognized girlfriend.
But before,he didn't have the confidence.
But now he did.
Not only did he have it, but it was huge.
And after he collected the meteorite, got the vibranium from Wakanda, and crafted his Phoenix Cloth, it would be even bigger.
So!
Hawke watched as Gwen, who had already jogged over to George Stacy and was holding George's arm, remained expressionless.
He maintained eye contact with George, walked up to him, and offered his right hand first.
"Mr. Stacy, this is Hawke. I'm sorry to have worried you."
"…"
George didn't speak, nor did he shake Hawke's hand.
He merely glanced at Hawke before ignoring him and looking towards Gwen.
"Let's go. Helen is waiting at home."
"Dad!"
"It's alright, Gwen."
Hawke calmly withdrew his right hand and said to Gwen, "You go back with Mr. Stacy first."
He understood George.
Right now, George wouldn't even shake his hand; even if he were to attack him, he would at most dodge but wouldn't retaliate.
After all, who told him to act like a wild boar?
So…

After finishing his speech, Hawke smiled slightly at Gwen again, then said goodbye to Mr. Stacy to George before leaving without causing Gwen any trouble.
An hour later,Hawke returned to his apartment in Bridge Park, Queens.
He turned on the lights.
He had expected the room to be covered in dust after being away for over twenty days.
But there was hardly any dust, and even the shorts he had hung outside the window were neatly folded and placed on the sofa.
There was an envelope on top of the folded shorts.
This must be the letter that Dr. Connors had asked him to deliver, as Gwen had mentioned on the phone.
Hawke thought to himself, sat down on the sofa, picked up the envelope, and took out a handwritten letter.
It was a letter of recommendation from Dr. Connors to New York University.
Hawke then remembered that Dr. Connors' doctorate was from New York University.
"Hiss!"
"This gift is quite heavy."
Hawke blinked.
To be honest, the gift was indeed substantial.
Although Dr. Connors' reputation was at most an added bonus, it was still a bonus.
Most people wouldn't even be able to get a letter of recommendation like that.
After all, in the West, a letter of recommendation is essentially a favor exchange.
So before Hawke awakened his inner power, he would have been overjoyed to receive this letter.
But now,Hawke no longer cared whether he could attend NYU.
He didn't consider giving up on his studies either; he simply had a more relaxed attitude.
If he got it, he was lucky; if he lost it, he was destined to.
After all, he had already seen a different, more exciting future.
However despite his thoughts, he still wanted to call Dr. Connors to express his gratitude for the letter of recommendation.
Hawke turned the envelope over; Gwen's handwritten Dr. Connors number was on it.
He took out his phone, looked at the black screen, chuckled, stood up from the sofa, and went into the bedroom.
In the bedroom…
Hawke plugged his phone into the charger, sat on the edge of the bed, and waited for it to power on.
Then, out of the corner of his eye, he noticed the photo frame on his bedside table seemed to have been moved.
Hawke raised an eyebrow, reached out, and rearranged the frame, placing it diagonally opposite his headboard.
Why?
He liked to sleep on his side, and with the frame positioned this way, there was a 70% chance he'd see it the moment he opened his eyes each day.
Problem solved.
After repositioning the frame, Hawke smiled slightly, looked at his powered-on phone, and dialed Dr. Connors.
The call connected quickly.
"This is Curtis..."
"Dr. Connors, it's me, Hawke."
Hawke introduced himself and apologized for having just returned from a recent trip, explaining that he had only just seen the letter of recommendation.
Dr. Connors on the other end of the line seemed quite pleased.
After a brief phone conversation with Dr. Connors, Hawke casually asked, "Dr. Connors sounds very happy. Did the experiment succeed?"
Dr. Connors chuckled.
"Soon. One of the lab mice gave me hope for victory."
"Well, congratulations in advance, Doctor."
"Thank you. Okay, Hawke, I need to get back to work."
"Okay, you go ahead."
