Cherreads

Chapter 33 - Chapter 32: Info II

Waking up was easy, but moving wasn't. After silver explained a summary of everything she knew, she along with the seven in the group they formed left to sort out pressing issues.

Since the last day in the academy, when every seeker got pulled into the scape. A strange event occurred, a tenth of every marked seeker in the academy got pulled here....To this unknown region.

"Sorrow's Grave"

Unlike him, most of them got dropped in this ruined city directly, others in the endless desert around it.

The strange parts were, the number of people pulled here was highly abnormal and how there were already seekers here.

It meant that, the last generation of newly marked seekers were pulled here, only they were all stronger than usual. Their numbers were few compared to how they first arrived.

She said, most of them only survived because of HIM. A seeker far stronger than any marked seeker. Some said he was a monster with a divine aspect, others said he was someone on par with an awakened.

His appearance was unknown but his very presence distinguished, he had every attribute of a protagonist in a novel.

Seeing how they were strong and how long they stayed , it only meant there was still no way to go back to reality. The city was very large, so was the number of spawns inhabiting it. Multiple seekers joined groups and factions, and the leader was a person who had been in the city from the very start.

Silver and the rest of the people with her, were the very few who couldn't join any group.

Unfortunately that was all she knew, she tried to ask night about some things, but he didn't talk, just remembering all that happened already made him queasy and uneasy.

Her look softened before she left.

[Back to the present]

Night couldn't move even in the slightest, he could barely keep his eyelid open let alone stand. With a thought, he sent his shadow to scout his surroundings. Judging from where he was, it was clear he was in a building, but seeing how it had been patched up meant it had been in use far before they arrived.

He tried his best to seat up , before summoning

[Librarian's Lost Journal]

Night managed to lift his hands as the book came into existence. Seeing it, he couldn't help but remember all that happened. A feeling slowly built up in his chest, he didn't need anyone's help to identify it, because, it was guilt.

The feeling he felt unknowingly all his life.

As night's mind slowly drifted, he suddenly felt a change. He had been so busy learning swordsmanship, he forgot to try to figure out how to use aen. Luckily, everything he needed was in the journal.

He was about to open it, but then his hands began to shake. He was scared. That what if.....what if learning aen would only strengthen the string that binded him to ren. If that happened.

Sylvia's figure flashed before his eyes.

If that happened, would he lead him to his death. Night shook his head.

No, thinking like that would only lead him to his death. Besides, if what he thought was happening, it meant he might be here.

The only variable he couldn't get rid off.

Night opened the journal, tried to sit properly, then slowly studied what he'd wrote

---

Aen can't be stored in the body and neither can it be stored in an unawakened soul. .

In various passages he'd wrote, that was the main point, they hinted at. It was right, he felt no flow of aen in his body,, and what he felt in his soul, wasn't stored, it was just like a breath. Going in and out.

There was a separate main flow, but it was mainly from ren. Still it was faint and unstable. The only way to properly use aen was to control the aen in the air, it felt easy but there was an obvious limit to how much he could use. Regardless of the endless flow, the aen was still corrupted. A seeker's soul and body can filter a certain amount of aen . The limit grows along with the rank, aen resides in the soul and core, but when the soul is destroyed. Most of the aen is left in the core. In case of corrupted beings like spawns, aen in the core gets filtered the moment it dies. Although the core is pure, the corpse isn't . Most times, there is always residual aen left in the corpse.

Night knew most things, but there was still a limit he couldn't overcome, he kept turning the pages until he stopped on a page with a foreign hand writing. His eyes widedned.

The most important thing he forgot since he came here was the information master raven gave him.

Before, nonie of these tasks were useful since he was too weak but its a little different now.

The info included methods to get sole traits, titles and a little more he couldn't figure out right now.

Each were strong enough to guarantee his survival even by a little.

Still, he skipped through the pages,

"He was in no condition to try any of them yet",

so he checked for something which could be useful at the moment, written pages reduced rapidly. He stopped flipping as he saw a phrase at the beginning of a page.

"Do the laws of physics, apply to the scape"

Those words intrigued him instantly, thinking about it, he couldn't tell, although most things that occur in reality, could also work in the scape. It made it harder to know. No matter how much he thought about it he couldn't figure it out.

So, he kept reading, his eyes widedned as he read the next sentence.

"Physics do not exist, in return, they are overwritten by RULES "

Without much thought he said it out loud.

Then, a shadow of someone popped up within his range, it was vague so he could barely notice it, until the person got right in front of him.

Night stared up, as the person asked a weird question.

"You know about them, don't you?"

THe RULES
