Chapter 34 - Chapter 33: The Rules

Night stared at the person. His appearance was averagely good, blonde yellow hair and light blue eyes, a very weak physic but clearly the quiet type. Night knew instinctively

"He wasn't a fighter "

Still he couldn't help but feel something about him being strange. It was basically impossible to survive in this world with a physic like that.

"No, but it seems you know more about it", night said to answer his abrupt question.

Then continued by saying

"Can you....tell me what you know, about the RULES"

He bent down, and stretched out his hand along with an innocent Smile, then said

"Of...course, i a..m seo jae min". His voice cracked a little , but it didn't bother night.

Night looked more surprised about his name, he was sure, that was his real name.

" my name is night", he said in return.

There were things bugging him severely. but he shrugged off that for now, moving onto the main question in mind.

Jae min's expression lightened as soon as his face turned pale. It was clear he was more introverted than night. After calming himself down, min's voice changed a bit as he said;

"The rules aren't really a big deal, but not knowing them is much more risky than the existence of spawns itself"

Night's mind shuddered, he then said in an horrified tone.

"What are you trying to say"

"Its just like i said, the rules are just a change in the laws of physics, just like how the various regions in the scape counter each other in their biological structures, it still doesn't change the fact how different they are. They are like worlds apart from each other, but still all just a region in the scape.

And just like how different worlds cannot have the same laws, the rules of each region are the same.

In a region of endless growth, ,the rules may be anything tied to its nature, which meant, the more dangerous a region is, the scary its rules. All it means is that, the more drastic and dangerous a region may be, the deadly the rules, nothing can change them, neither can they be destroyed. That's why the concept of physics, is non existent in the scape

And judging by everything i'd seen in this region, based on everything i know , i think that, the rules are;

The concept of time does not exist."

After saying all that, min's gaze lowered a lot, night knew he felt distanced, still something about him, made him realize how much alike they were. To continue the conversation, night asked

"What do you mean by, time doesn't exist"

His gaze shot up, as if he said something very important, then with a few words, he said;

"Time does exist, its just that it doesn't follow its concept"

"When i arrived here, i heard the hex say something, am not sure you might've heard it too. It was something about "The ruler is bringing you into his timeline ", after that the whole concept of time has been messed up, it could only mean that , time's flow is apart of the rules"

His gaze went down again, night already knew all he wanted too, besides, it already seemed like he no longer had anything more to say, so he didn't press on.

Night eyes shifted as the shadows of a group of people entered the room.

Silver and five people behind her, she was lost in thought, but as soon as she saw me , she ran over pushing min aside as she hugged him.

"Its not fair, you talked to min but not to me".

Night stayed quiet not knowing what to say, mainly because she was squeezing out every drop of life out of him with that hug.

When she realized it, she removed her hands muttering

"Sorry" as she backed off.

Min started talking again, but suddenly stumbling all over his words

"Si.....lver, are...you two....."

In unison, both silver and night said

"No, were not"

He was clearly confused about something, so night could barely understand why he suddenly changed, all this was practically alien to him. So....he had no reason to feel weird about it.

As she spoke, he couldn't help but wonder who were the people with her.

In her group, they were seven all together.

Each had distinct characteristics. There were five girls including silver and two boys. Tried to move again, but in that instant, all his wounds flared up, the pain consuming him whole, he'd forgot how much he was really hurt.

Suddenly, silver walked up to him and stuffed a vial into his mouth, as the contents emptied, he was unable to do anything other than stare. The hex's voice echoed in his head leaving him even more shocked

[You have consumed awakened rank elixir, Basilie sap]

[Your flame grows stronger]

[You have gained temporary trait: [Vitality]

[Effects last for only one hour]

[Your vessel begins to heal rapidly]

[Your flame grows darker]

"She...used an elixir on me, but..why"

He felt terribly confused, why would she, someone he barely knew. Do something like this for me. An elixir wasn't a chronicle of any kind, but something that had a one in a billon chance of ever appearing in any region of the scape.

"Why did you waste that on me"

silver smiled and said.

"I just had an extra with me, besides grandpa left a lot with me"

With a strange pause in the middle she continued.

"Its the least i can do for you, br.... night"

She pouted as she turned her face away, then whispered

"Your the closest person i can call a brother, did you really think i would watch you remain injured like that"

Night felt speechless, she thought he was family.

"Family"

He kept quiet and faced down, reality was, he didn't know what to consider her as, because, if she was his family.

She too would face that horrible fate.

The curse he's had, and what lead everyone close to him, to their demise.

He knew his luck had always been so bad, because if it wasn't she wouldn't have died that day.

"Asuna"
