"How can there be so many high-level superpowers in one place...?"
Far to the west of Seattle, the moment the Blood Aberration was utterly annihilated, a woman stood frozen in the darkness. Shock and fear were written plainly across her delicate features.
She was striking—long blonde hair cascading down her back, sharp aristocratic features that spoke of wealth and breeding. But what truly set her apart was the vertical third eye positioned between her brows, slowly closing as its eerie crimson glow faded into nothing.
Everything that had just transpired—the violent clash of abilities, the overwhelming release of killing intent, the sheer magnitude of power unleashed—had been reflected with perfect clarity through her awakened vision.
"That man..." Her voice came out barely above a whisper, tension threading through every syllable. "And the people surrounding him..."
She took a slow, measured breath, forcing down the unease threatening to claw its way up from her chest.
After a long moment, she turned to address the woman standing beside her. Her voice had turned cold, commanding.
"Inform everyone at Juniper Blue Shelter immediately. Tell them to keep their heads down for the foreseeable future." She paused, making sure her next words landed with absolute clarity. "Do not provoke that man. Do not even get close to his territory."
The woman beside her nodded quickly, not daring to question the order.
She'd never seen her leader look afraid before.
North of Seattle, Greenwood District.
Hidden within what appeared to be an ordinary residential block stood a house that was anything but ordinary.
Its walls were reinforced with special composite materials. The windows were bulletproof—military-grade, not civilian. Underground, the structure had been fortified far beyond any standard safety protocols.
The house maintained its own independent generator. Its rainwater filtration system was state-of-the-art. And the stockpiled supplies? Enough for one person to survive comfortably for over a year.
Clearly, someone had prepared this place long before the apocalypse ever arrived.
Inside, a beautiful girl dressed in flowing green loungewear sat curled up on an expensive leather couch. A snow-white cat—pristine and fluffy—lay cradled lazily in her arms, purring softly.
She absentmindedly chewed on several faintly glowing plants, their bioluminescence casting soft patterns across her face. Her expression was dull, almost bored, as if nothing in this dying world could interest her anymore.
Suddenly—
Flash!
The cat's entire body lit up with brilliant blue light.
Its ears snapped upright, twitching sharply. In the next instant, the creature's head whipped to the right—toward the distant direction where the massive power surge had occurred.
"Meow—!"
The sound was sharp, piercing, and deeply unsettled.
In the exact same moment, the girl in green shot to her feet.
The lazy, bored expression vanished completely, replaced by cold vigilance and barely concealed killing intent. Her eyes swept across the room systematically, as if an invisible enemy might materialize from thin air at any second.
Her hand drifted toward something hidden beneath the couch cushions.
Something dangerous is awake, she thought grimly.
Downtown Seattle, the heart of what remained of the city.
Within what had once been known as Mangrove Heights—a luxury estate reserved for the ultra-wealthy—now stood the headquarters of the Red Blood Sanctuary.
A certain man with glasses had once praised this place as "a paradise amidst hell."
Yet now?
The air was thick and heavy with the metallic stench of blood.
Corpses littered the pristine marble courtyard. Broken bones and dried organs were scattered carelessly across what had once been immaculate landscaping.
Dozens of people—men and women, elderly and young—were bound in rows, terror permanently etched onto their faces. They were ordinary refugees, captured and brought here against their will.
Surrounding them stood more than a dozen vicious-looking men holding crude but effective blades. They worked methodically, draining blood from the living captives drop by agonizing drop.
Every crimson bead was collected carefully into a massive ceremonial basin.
Inside that basin stood a naked middle-aged man, eyes closed in concentration, greedily absorbing the blood like a starving beast drinking from a river.
As he consumed more and more, humanoid figures made entirely of congealed blood began forming beside him—one after another, rising from the pool like macabre sculptures coming to life.
There were already more than twenty such Blood Servants standing silently nearby, awaiting orders.
Suddenly—
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Four—no, five of the Blood Servants exploded simultaneously without warning.
The violent feedback surged through the mental connection like lightning through water.
The middle-aged man's eyes snapped open.
The moment he realized what had happened—the moment he understood the implications—his expression twisted into something inhuman.
"WHO?!"
He let out a furious roar that shook the air itself. Veins bulged grotesquely across his face and neck, pulsing with barely contained rage.
"Who killed my son?! WHO DARES?!"
The entire villa trembled with the force of his fury.
Blood began seeping from the walls themselves.
Meanwhile, back with Elric...
He had absolutely no idea that allowing his women to act just once had caused so many powerful figures across Seattle to take immediate notice.
After Ava, Quinn, and the others finished dealing with the man in glasses, Elric's nose wrinkled slightly.
Something... wasn't right.
He gently—but firmly—pushed Shasha away from where she'd been leaning against his side.
Shasha froze completely.
She was undoubtedly beautiful—stunning, even. But in the apocalypse, bathing was a luxury few could afford. It had been days since she'd properly cleaned herself, and despite her best efforts to stay presentable...
Elric hadn't noticed at first.
But after being pressed close together for several minutes, a faint but distinctly unpleasant odor had finally reached him.
"M-Mr. Elric..." Shasha's voice trembled with barely suppressed panic.
"I'm so sorry," she said quickly, words tumbling over each other. "I'll wash immediately. I promise I'll make sure I'm clean. I'll—"
Her eyes turned red. Tears shimmered at the edges. She nervously tugged at the corner of her clothes, looking pitiful beyond words.
Elric didn't comment further on the matter.
"Come with me," he said calmly, his tone neutral.
Elric turned his attention away from Shasha and began retrieving objects from his system space once more.
Now that he had officially accepted her into his group, it was finally time to open the base properly.
When the familiar, mysterious base model appeared floating above his palm once again, the women around him instinctively drew closer, forming a loose semicircle.
All ten of them—watched with barely restrained anticipation.
Elric didn't look at any of them.
With a single focused thought, the miniature base model in his palm began to float upward.
Ten meters.
One hundred meters.
Five hundred meters.
Eight hundred meters.
Finally, it stopped—suspended exactly one full kilometer above the ground, hovering impossibly in midair.
Then—
BZZZZZZ—!
A violent, thrumming hum echoed through the sky itself.
The base model erupted with blinding white light that turned night into day.
Before anyone could even process what was happening, the tiny model began expanding at an absolutely insane speed.
Within mere seconds—perhaps five, perhaps less—a massive floating island had formed directly above their heads.
It hung suspended among the clouds, silent and majestic, like something torn straight from ancient mythology.
The island wasn't small, either.
From ground level, it appeared nearly half the size of an upscale residential community, floating impossibly against the laws of physics and common sense.
Then—
Whoooosh.
Several pillars of brilliant white light descended from beneath the floating island.
They converged smoothly into a single luminous beam, forming a vertical passage of pure light that stopped precisely in front of Elric.
At the exact same moment, a cold, mechanical voice echoed directly into his mind.
[Ding! Air Base successfully activated.]

Elric scanned through the interface, his expression remaining calm and composed throughout.
Inwardly, though?
He was extremely satisfied.
Not bad at all, he thought with quiet approval.
This wasn't just a shelter from the apocalypse.
This was a completely self-sustaining ecosystem—a fortress in the sky.
Especially the laboratory.
Earlier, Elizabeth had been pestering him relentlessly about finding a proper research facility. Elric had been genuinely wondering how to solve that particular problem without wasting too much time or resources.
Now?
The system had simply handed him the perfect solution on a silver platter.
Below him, on the ground—
"Oh my God... is this a miracle?"
"Mr. Elric... did you just... did you just create an island in the sky?!"
"Is he... is he a god?"
As Elric closed the system interface and returned his attention to the physical world, the stunned voices finally penetrated his awareness.
All ten women stood staring upward with their necks craned back, eyes wide open, mouths slightly agape—completely unable to hide their absolute shock.
As for the remaining survivors from the Ginkgo Society Community who'd witnessed everything, several of them had dropped to their knees on the spot.
They had seen superpowers before. Elemental manipulation. Physical enhancement. Even mind control.
They had witnessed horrifying, inhuman abilities that defied nature itself.
But this?
Creating an entire floating island—a city in the sky—out of thin air?
This wasn't a superpower.
This was divine authority.
Elric turned around, his tone calm and carrying an unquestionable note of finality.
"Alright." He gestured toward the pillar of light. "Come up with me."
He stepped into the luminous passage first, his form beginning to rise smoothly upward.
His voice drifted down, clear and certain.
"In the future," he said simply, "this will be our home."
