Chapter 96 - Chapter 96

The experiment wasn't progressing well. All three subjects showed adverse reactions to the AR system. To mitigate this, Lusamine fitted them with control masks, which in turn, prevented the system from activating. Undeterred, she decided to take a risk and prepared to remove the mask from one subject for a combat test.

Though extended combat wasn't feasible yet, the short bursts of power were comparable to champion-level Pokémon. If everything went as planned, they might even reach the legendary level, simulating the all-encompassing power of the Creator. Of course, this was purely theoretical.

To showcase the strength of an unbeatable champion, Lusamine whispered to herself. She entered a code to activate the subject named "Full," placed it in a specially designed Poké Ball, and briskly walked to her office. As the passageway was about to close, a Rotom slipped in quietly with a flash of electricity.

High above, Palkia and Dialga were watching the timer closely. The agreed three-minute timeframe was nearing its end, and they decided not to wait for Mew any longer, preparing to close the Ultra Space portal. If it stayed open too long, Ultra Beasts would appear randomly across the region, causing unnecessary trouble.

Just as the space-time dragons were about to act, Mew's pink form appeared. They immediately worked together to close the portal. "Did you find him?" Palkia asked. Mew shook its head, indicating it had searched the world of Ultra Beasts thoroughly, even checking the nests of the strongest individuals, but to no avail. There were no signs of aura traces in the tunnel either, clearly a wrong direction.

Dialga wasn't surprised by the result, having anticipated it all along.

She was intrigued by Carl because when she tried to foresee the future, the information about him was blocked by some force. When she attempted to probe further, a powerful pressure descended upon her, urging caution.

This force reminded her of the pressure from Arceus itself. It's known that even a fraction of Arceus's power can easily suppress her in another space, making the power of the original form unimaginable.

Mew bid farewell to Dialga and Palkia, ready to leave. She wasn't willing to give up easily and planned to find another way.

But Dialga stopped her, "What about the World Tree leaves?"

Not finding Carl left Mew in a bad mood, and she quickly retorted, "Did you find Carl for me?"

The space-time duo was momentarily speechless.

"We agreed," Mew said displeased, "You help me find Carl, and then I'll give the leaves, not just for lending a hand!" Originally, Mew intended to give them the leaves, but now, with a sour mood, she wasn't inclined to fulfill their wish.

The dragons remained silent, understanding Mew's temperament and knowing that arguing would be futile. Instead of making things worse, they chose silence. They exchanged a knowing look, tore open a space rift, and slipped through it. As soon as they disappeared, the distorted space-time returned to normal.

Mew was observing the now-calm sky when the roar of engines caught its attention. Looking up, a silver-gray airship hovered above.

"Chairwoman! The radar picked up a Pokémon signal!" An assistant exclaimed, pointing excitedly at the flashing screen.

Lusamine rose to her feet, not waiting for the image to fully transmit, and ordered, "Open the passage!"

The staff, accustomed to her swift decisions, quickly activated the equipment. A metal door slid open on the side of the meeting room, revealing an elevator leading to the lower deck.

The elevator descended directly to the airship's base. Lusamine leapt onto Full's back, and the creature burst out from the hatch.

The moment she flew out, she noticed the pink figure floating in mid-air.

"Mew?" Lusamine frowned slightly. To create Full, she had studied legendary Pokémon, including Arceus and Mew. But she was more interested in the ultra energy that appeared in Kanto last night than capturing Mew.

"Mew, have you seen Cosmog?" Her tone was commanding, leaving no room for refusal.

Mew's previously cheerful demeanor instantly darkened. This human not only created Pokémon without permission but also dared to speak to it in such a manner?

Another one who toys with life. Mew glanced at her coldly and snapped its fingers.

Suddenly, Lusamine felt the ground vanish beneath her as both Full and Mew disappeared.

Lusamine plummeted toward the sea below, her face turning pale. From such a height, the fall would certainly be fatal.

"Lillie..." As she fell, fear dissipated, and her mind was filled with thoughts of her daughter. "Mom's leaving you," she thought sorrowfully, closing her eyes in despair.

Strangely, the sensation of falling vanished. Opening her eyes, she found herself in an unfamiliar place. "Where is this?" she wondered, looking around in confusion.

Meanwhile, Mew was on a mission. It first approached Ho-Oh: "Help me find a human." Ho-Oh, with its control over secret realms, might have clues. But soon, Mew was disappointed again.

It dove into the sea to seek Lugia's aid: "Can you use your ocean Pokémon to help me?" Yet, the ocean deity couldn't assist either.

Undeterred, Mew visited the lake trio—Uxie, Azelf, and Mesprit. "You govern wisdom, willpower, and emotion; surely you can find him." But it was all in vain.

It further reached out to Cresselia and Darkrai: "Please use the power of dreams to aid me." Even the Tao dragons and Zygarde were questioned, but still, the human remained elusive.

"Find him for me!" Mew was growing frantic, pacing in agitation. Then Zygarde suggested, "Could he be outside the domain?"

Meanwhile, in Havenport...

Ten kilometers away, atop a mountain, Zygarde, in its hound form, stood at the peak, gazing towards Carl's villa. It recalled the conversation it had with Mew, a hint of doubt flashing in its eyes: "In this special domain, Mew shouldn't be able to sense him."

"Could that human named Carl really be here?"

Although Zygarde successfully attracted two opponents, it was not one to sit idly by. The ground Pokémon sent to investigate had safely returned, bringing back an odd report: both Pokémon and humans in the area lived in happiness.

This made it question its judgment. But when it tried to enter again, even a single cell felt overwhelming fear. There had to be something terrifying hidden here.

Could it be something akin to an ancient ultimate weapon? The more it thought, the more anxious it became, wishing those two would hurry. Especially the one who couldn't even fly—how long would it take to arrive?

It even considered asking Palkia to open a portal, but eventually dismissed the notion. The fewer who knew about this special domain, the better. After all, the land belonged to that dragon, and attracting too many powerful entities wasn't wise.
