The palace did not stop trembling.
Aurelia pressed herself against the cold stone column as another shockwave rippled through Eldoria, the air shuddering violently enough to rattle her teeth. Somewhere above, glass shattered. Somewhere below, something screamed.
Not human.
Her heart hammered as she peered around the column's edge.
The courtyard beyond had become a battlefield.
Fire and shadow collided beneath the open sky. Witchlight blazed in streaks of silver and violet, cutting through the darkness like living blades, while shapes...too fast, too feral.....leapt and flew through the air with inhuman grace.
People were flying.
No.....creatures were flying.
Aurelia sucked in a sharp breath.
She had never seen magic used like this.
Figures rose into the air on currents of power, robes snapping like wings, while others moved without spells at all....launching themselves upward with raw strength, landing on balconies, walls, even midair platforms formed from magic itself.
