The elf's eyes narrowed. Her grip on the blade tightened.
"Answer me," she said with authority in her voice. "Who are you? Or I will cut your throat."
Jax finally spoke in a mocking tone. "How can you forget me, miss? I am your master. Remember? We were playing a really beautiful and hardworking game. You were making me stronger."
She hissed. "Don't test my patience. You are in my territory. Remember this. So, go on. Tell me who sent you here."
Jax feigned confusion. "I think I heard the same line before. Just a few hours ago? Where, where... oh yes! Your granddaughter. She threatened me with the same line."
He mimicked a girly tone. "'You are in my territory.'"
He took a step closer. "Oh my, maid. She is just like you."
"Don't come near me," she commanded, voice steady. She wasn't panicking. She was confident she could kill him. "I will kill you if you come closer. It will be my loss, as I won't be able to retrieve information. So don't make me do that."
