Chapter 57 - Chapter 59: Each's Own Battle

"Maybe... but fighting a monster is truly a first for me!" His voice was tinged with fear of the unknown.

"Hmph! How hideous!" High in the sky, Gilgamesh stood in the Vimana, the Ark of the Covenant.

"Such a filthy creature, yet it requires so many people to unite against it. It's truly lamentable, isn't it, Tokiomi?"

However, Tōsaka Tokiomi's heart was filled with anger and anxiety, completely devoid of the excitement of being allowed to ride in the Ark of the Covenant with the King of Heroes.

Having broken the hidden rules of magecraft, the Tōsaka family was granted the responsibility of managing this area by the Mage's Association, but what Caster had done was a blatant slap in the face!

If this giant beast were to go berserk, an even greater tragedy would surely occur!

---

But now, the problem was already very serious!

Tōsaka Tokiomi saw Saber and Rider's weapons strike the monster in the distance, but the monster's regenerative abilities were so powerful that the damage inflicted by the two Servants couldn't even keep up with its healing speed.

"Please make a decision, this is a great opportunity to display your heroic might!"

Tokiomi Tōsaka, helpless, could only bow his head and plead again.

This time, the King of Heroes did not refuse, merely casting a displeased glance at him, but then only fired four Noble Phantasms. The Noble Phantasms shot towards the monster with a whooshing sound. Saber and Rider, hearing the noise, cautiously dodged, but the monster was simply too large. Its massive body was struck by the four Noble Phantasms, and amidst earth-shattering explosions, a small part of it was obliterated, only to regenerate in the very next instant.

Tōsaka Tokiomi was dumbfounded; he hadn't expected such an outcome.

"—Your Majesty, it possesses such strong regenerative abilities. Only a single decisive blow can destroy it!"

"What are you talking about, Tokiomi! I don't want to see this disgusting fellow anymore. It has already defiled my four Noble Phantasms, so I no longer want them. At this point, we should just leave!" Gilgamesh said with displeasure, looking at the monster with a disgusted expression.

"But, only your Noble Phantasm can eliminate—"

"Shut up, Tokiomi! What are you saying? Can this mere disgusting monster defile my glory? The stage for Ea has not yet been set. Do you truly believe this fellow is worthy of my glory?" Gilgamesh angrily pointed at the twisted tentacles.

Tōsaka Tokiomi had no choice but to lower his head and glance at the Command Spells in his hand. He desperately wanted to use them to command the King of Heroes, but he knew that if he did so, with so many enemies still present, the relationship he had painstakingly maintained with the King of Heroes would shatter. At that point, he would not be far from defeat or even death. Therefore, he could only place his hopes on the other Servants.

This was the nature of mages; they were always selfish. For Tōsaka Tokiomi, Servants were merely his tools, and his obsequiousness was merely a show of respect for ancient things. But all of this was built upon the victory of the Holy Grail War and the pursuit of the Root. Therefore, in the current situation, even when faced with Caster's rampant destruction, he was angry, but he still couldn't make a decision for his own goals. The selfishness and limitations of a mage were clearly revealed.

Fighter jets also joined the attack on the monster, but without exception, they were all destroyed.

Just then, Tōsaka Tokiomi, using magecraft, saw a fighter jet charging towards them in the distance. A black figure clung to the fighter jet, and a strange magical power was gradually invading the aircraft. That was Berserker!

The fighter jet was gradually being transformed into a Noble Phantasm by Berserker's power, and its target was their location!

And Tōsaka Tokiomi also saw Berserker's Master appear for the first time on top of a building. The fire of hatred in his eyes, even from such a distance, Tokiomi clearly felt.

"Oh King, let their Master be my opponent!" Tōsaka Tokiomi bowed and requested.

"Heh heh, very well. I shall have a good time playing with that mad dog!" Gilgamesh replied with an evil smile.

The Ark of the Covenant carried the two of them near Matō Kariya. Tōsaka Tokiomi jumped down from the sky without any hesitation. This height was no problem for a powerful mage.

And Gilgamesh, with a sneer, piloted the battleship and engaged Berserker in an aerial chase… "Oh oh oh! This is amazing, truly amazing! Master is so incredible!" Ryūnosuke Uryū jumped and shouted excitedly near the river.

The people nearby had no time to pay attention to him, because the scene before their eyes was simply a recreation of mythology, a sight that should not appear in the present world, yet was now so clearly revealing itself.

"Go! Lord Bluebeard! Destroy them, destroy them! This is God's toy, a toy!" With a smile of extreme excitement, though he only had one arm, Ryūnosuke Uryū's joy was so intense.

"Are you happy?" A faint voice sounded in his ear.

Ryūnosuke Uryū's voice abruptly stopped. He turned his head blankly and saw the figure that, besides Caster, he would never forget in his life.

Ryougi Raku stood there quietly, yet it was as if he wasn't in this world. None of the surrounding crowd seemed to notice him.

"Are you searching? For that ultimate pleasure?" Ryougi Raku said softly, with the most captivating smile in the world.

"...Now, let me give you the most beautiful thing in the world!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a flash of a blade, and Ryūnosuke Uryū saw everyone nearby covering their mouths in horror and moving away from him.

And he himself saw his lower body standing there, but how could he be looking at the sky?

He tried hard to look back, but Ryougi Raku's figure had disappeared, as if he had never appeared at all. But he, Ryūnosuke Uryū, was indeed cut in half at the waist… "Wow!" He saw it, he saw it, that vivid red, the very thing he had always pursued.

God, you truly exist. It turns out what I've been searching for has always been here.

Looking at his shattered body and spilled organs, Ryūnosuke Uryū smiled, "So that's it… what I've been searching for all this time… it's this… So you've always been here!"

Smiling contentedly, Ryūnosuke Uryū fell into a deep sleep… Tōsaka Tokiomi landed on the rooftop as if defying gravity, where Matō Kariya had been waiting for him for a long time.

The current Matō Kariya did not have that ugly appearance, but in terms of demeanor, there was still a huge gap between him and Tōsaka Tokiomi.

"You, who had already abandoned the path of magecraft, actually want to participate in the Holy Grail War?" Tōsaka Tokiomi adjusted his attire and spoke calmly.

Matō Kariya ignored the mockery in Tōsaka Tokiomi's words and simply asked, "Tōsaka Tokiomi, I only have one question for you. Why did you entrust Sakura to Matō Zouken?"

"...Hmm? What?"

The unexpected question made Tōsaka Tokiomi frown.

"Is this really the time to be concerned about this question?"

"Answer me, Tokiomi!" Matō Kariya roared, his aura surprisingly powerful at that moment.

"Of course, it's to make my beloved daughter happier?"

"...What?" Matō Kariya looked at him in disbelief.

"There is only one Magic Crest, but there are twin daughters, and both are so excellent. However, the consequence is having to abandon one, and this is unforgivable!"

Tōsaka Tokiomi spoke eloquently, "To allow both sisters' talents to flourish, sending one daughter away is the ideal choice. The Matō family's request was simply a godsend. As one of the founding Three Families, allowing my daughter's magical talent to develop and reach the root of a magus's pursuit increases the possibility of reaching the Root. Even if I truly cannot fulfill this wish, as long as both Rin and Sakura are still there, then the Tōsaka family's wish will eventually be realized!"

Tōsaka Tokiomi self-righteously spoke what he believed to be correct, all based on his own deductions, not facts.

"Nonsense!!" Matō Kariya angrily interrupted him, recalling Sakura's tragic arrival at the Matō family, sharing a room with worms, being gnawed by worms, and being parasitized by that old man Matō Zouken. If it weren't for that adult, who knows how tragic Sakura's life would have been!
