"I'll fix you back in no time, Master!"
The shrill voice echoed in his head, snapping him out of his daze state.
He finally pushed his head out of the large bosom, staring at the figure before him. Her silver hair fluttered behind her. Her body was wrapped in a tight red robe, which accentuated her contours.
These human emotions!
He had let it take over him for a moment. If it was one who meant harm, he'd be dead by now.
A frown slowly formed across his face as he stared at the figure before him. Soon, his frown changed into one of confusion and then to an expressionless face.
"What are you doing here, Eliza." He said, staring at the woman before him.
"Huh? You recognised me!! Even in this cheap heap of a body!" Her shrill voice echoed over the area, and Raziel, standing close to her, felt it reverberate within his bones.
"Dammit! Keep it down." He muttered, suppressing a soft groan. His body was already at its limit, throbbing all over with pain.
The situation before him was quite a strange one. But first, what happened to that damn creature? Looking past the woman before him, he didn't have to search long before he saw a heap of bone on the ground.
"Did she do that?"
The creature bones had been separated and appeared to have been drained completely of blood.
He didn't feel anything for the creature.
Letting out a grunt, he focused on the lady before him. "Still as fierce as ever, huh?" He finally said, breaking the silence.
"That death was quite an easy one." Eliza said with a scoff. "If I were in my true body, there were a lot of deaths I would have considered."
Settling on a large piece of rock, Raziel sighed tiredly.
"About that... how did you end up in this... body?" He asked, still rattled by her sudden appearance.
Raziel knew the body standing right before him. The body of one of his relations, his aunt, one that had caused him quite a lot of problems.
"About that, I... uhhh... I'm not quite sure. I think it was after that figure appeared...?" She said with a pause.
Sigh.
"I don't really remember." She finally said, letting out a sigh. "Still... I'm stuck in this damn body!"
"Figure, huh?" Raziel muttered to himself. "Can it be him?" Shaking his head, he stared right at Eliza.
"What about the others? Have you contacted anyone?"
"N–no. I just only found you."
"Good. It's better this way." Raziel said, rising from the rock. "C'mon... Let's head back."
Eliza remained rooted in her spot, her head hanging low.
"Actually, about the others... they... t–they are all gone." She said in a low voice.
"Gone?" The air suddenly grew still as Raziel stopped in his tracks. "What do you mean gone?"
"They didn't make it. They..." Her chest rose as she gathered the courage to speak. "They were eliminated as a punishment... for following you..."
A stretch of suffocating silence occurred. Raziel stood in place, fist clenched so tight blood dripped from his palms down the ground.
Memories of those that had stood beside him flashed before him. Their voices and laughter echoing in his head.
"I'll kill them... I'll fucking kill them all." His voice was eerily calm... too calm, yet Eliza could feel the overwhelming killing intent surging wildly around him.
"Heek! We aren't supposed to be talking about such delicate matter right in the open." Eliza hurriedly said. "Just thinking about them could attract their attention to us."
"About that..." Raziel said after a long stretch of silence. "I guess you're right. Now is not the time to think about them. I'm still too weak to do anything."
Staring at the grey sky for some seconds, he asked all of a sudden.
"Can I trust you... Eliza?" His voice echoed softly.
"Of course! I... I swore never to leave your side! I–I'll always be here for you... no matter what!"
A soft smile crept across his lips as he stared at her.
"I thought as much." Sitting on the cold ground once again, he let out a soft breath before closing his eyes.
"I guess I'll be in your care after I'm done with that I'm trying to do.
"What do you m–I mean you can always count on me, Master!"
With that settled, Raziel finally delved into his soul.
What he was about to do was extremely risky. One tiny mistake could cost his life. But he was ready to take the risk. Even if he would be vulnerable for some time.
In all, sealing some parts of his memories would require a lot to pull off.
But he had just the perfect tools. The storm of energy raging within him was still there. He didn't get the chance to use it against the Demic.
Closing his eyes, he slowly directed the energy towards his heart. The bracelet, designed to keep him in check, would play a vital part in the process.
Time flew by as he focused on the task, slowly directing a tiny fragment of the bracelet essence towards his head.
"Finally." Raziel muttered, wiping beads of sweat from his temple. He then braced himself for what was about to happen next.
It came suddenly. The pain was worse than anything he had felt since entering the cursed reincarnation cycle.
It felt his head was being peirced by a hot pipe over and over again through his temples. His eyes turned bloodshot as he finally collapsed on the ground, his twitching fingers a sign he was still alive.
Splitting and sealing some parts of his memories was truly terrifying. If not for the strength of his soul and mind, he would have turned to an empty husk by now.
Eliza stood on guard, her eyes flashing towards him from time to time in concern.
The moon finally began to give way for dawn. Not much change occurred since the pocket dimension had no sun.
Raziel finally steered awake.
His sapphire eyes sparkled softly.
"Master... You're finally awake." She muttered.
Raziel struggled to his feet, feeling his head still throbbing with pain.
Shrugging the pain off, he noticed he was still weak on his feet. "It's Raziel from now on."
"Yes mast–Raziel."
Letting out a soft breath, he managed to let out a small smile. "Good."
"I think it's finally over."
Staring at the devastated area and finally at the bodies littered across the ground, he let out a long sigh.
"What a waste."
As much as he was tempted to devour them, doing that was akin to signing his death. His bosy was too battered to bear the strain of the Devour ability.
Though he couldn't help but also let out a satisfied sigh.
Not much. But it was a great start.
Then he finally moved... no... he wouldn't really call that move.
"Alright, let's mo–"
He felt his body sway groggily before falling forward.
Just before his body could hit the ground, he felt himself getting caught into the embrace of Eliza once again.
Damn... he had truly pushed his body to the limits.
