Chapter 136 - The Method to Break the Deadlock

Based on current observations, the range of Electro's lightning in open air reached nearly 100 feet. That meant the electric potential between him and Peter was at least 30 million volts.

Judging from its destructive force, the current intensity was around 200 amps—far beyond the lethal limit for a normal human.

Even the Amazing Spider-Man might not withstand that.

Perhaps only Peter's own superhuman physiology could take such a hit head-on.

Still, before coming to this "appointment," Peter had modified the surface of his suit—creating a simplified "Anti-Electro Suit."It would at least help reduce some of the damage he took.

But Electro's side had clearly anticipated this possibility—they had also prepared a completely new combat plan for him:

Close-quarters combat… while electrified.

A mage fighting in melee—on paper it sounded ridiculous.

But in practice?Against anyone other than Spider-Man, it was terrifyingly effective.

Even against Spider-Man, Peter found it quite troublesome.

Electro could propel himself by riding along magnetic field lines produced by high-power electrical currents—essentially using a magnetic induction loop.

And as an electrical engineer, his understanding of circuits and electricity was extremely deep.

He created a tight vortex-like electric field around his legs, generating a powerful counter-magnetic field that kept him suspended above power cables.

By manipulating imbalance points in the electromagnetic field, he could move freely at speeds up to 225 km/h, so long as the environment contained electromagnetic fields.

For a "fighter," this made him nearly ghost-like.

In addition, he could fire lightning-like electric arcs from his fingertips. And although Peter mocked him for being nothing compared to Thor, those arcs did possess the velocity of lightning—around 500 m/s after discharge.

At close range, combined with the current intensity they contained, they were absolutely lethal.

Still, after plugging all the data into his mental calculations and building a 3D model of Electro in his mind, Peter finally found a solution—not a perfect one, but a solution nonetheless.

Electro's high-tech armor not only protected him and boosted his voltage, it also made him, to some extent, a giant rechargeable battery.

As mentioned earlier, Electro had three operational modes in a circuit: charging, discharging, and transformer mode.

Based on Peter's prior battles with him, this Electro clearly wouldn't willingly act as a "transformer" unless he already had plenty of stored charge.

So he must have already charged himself once—and to full capacity.

This allowed him to retain maximum power even after briefly disconnecting from the grid.

Most people would do the same.

It was like using your phone:When your battery is low, you feel uneasy until it's charged. If you're gaming and the power drain is huge, you might even charge while playing to avoid a sudden shutdown.

That was exactly the situation now.

Electro's power consumption during combat was massive.

Out of caution, he would definitely keep his internal charge topped off before linking himself to the power grid to act as a transformer for attacking Peter.

Not only that—when fully charged, his speed, strength, and regeneration increased dramatically.

This was why Peter concluded that Electro must be operating at full internal charge.

Which meant—

This was Peter's chance.

From previous encounters, Peter knew that Electro could produce about 100 seconds of current output after being cut off from power—roughly 1000 bolts, each lasting about 0.1 seconds.

From this, Peter estimated Electro's internal charge capacity at 20,000 coulombs.

Once disconnected from the circuit, he would essentially be a massive battery loaded with 20,000 coulombs.

He could even be considered an electromagnetic bomb.

Even while connected, he was still operating at the very edge of his load limit.

The simplest solution would be to use a handgun loaded with an EMP round.

One shot would destabilize his internal charge and blow him apart from the inside.

But Peter didn't have anything like that.

So he chose a much simpler method.

On circuit boards, when a trace jumps from one side of the board to the other through a hole, that hole is called a via.

Vias have many considerations in circuit design:

– Their parasitic capacitance increases signal rise time, slowing circuits.– Their parasitic inductance can weaken bypass capacitors, reducing the power system's filtering.

In high-speed PCB design, via design is even more critical.

Conveniently, Peter had crammed a ton of PCB design knowledge recently, since he'd tried to create an internal nano-suit circuitry and A.I. similar to Tony Stark's suits.

Thus, Peter's plan was:

While passing through the ruins of collapsed buildings, he grabbed several conductive metal rods, dodging Electro's bombardment while shaping the rods into exactly what he needed.

Then he stabbed part of these rods into the building walls and connected them with webs.

He chose the walls because the ground was crawling with Lizard Men still relentlessly chasing him.

After discovering Peter was too agile on walls, and that they were too bulky to climb well, they stopped climbing altogether and just rampaged on the ground—

—but they still refused to give up the chase.

Peter inferred someone was directing them.

Otherwise, given the Lizard Men's chaotic mental state, they would never behave this consistently.

That someone was either the mastermind behind all this—or Dr. Connors, the Lizard.

Or both, working together.

Unfortunately, Peter was too busy dealing with Electro to hunt them down.

But once he dealt with Electro, he would go after them immediately.

Just as Peter continued inserting conductive rods into the walls—

his spider-sense flared violently.

He stopped abruptly.

Whoosh—

BOOM!

A long, dark-green object shot past him, stabbing deep into the wall and blowing out half the structure.
