"What are the X-Men?" asked the Amazing Spider-Man, curious.
Peter remembered now.
Not long ago, he'd heard of the X-Men in Earth-92131.
In that world, the X-Men and their affiliated groups sought peaceful coexistence between mutants and ordinary humans.
On the other hand, Magneto and his Brotherhood of Mutants wanted to control or eliminate normal humans, giving mutants security or a dominant position.
Apparently, the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants existed in this universe as well, though they seemed more secretive. So much so that even the "native" Amazing Spider-Man hadn't heard of them before.
It was also possible they didn't usually operate in this area.
And the traces of their activities in other places have been covered up by the higher-ups.
This is standard operating procedure.
In a world dominated by ordinary people, the emergence of a group of extraordinary individuals whose abilities could threaten their lives, especially when many of them are hostile to ordinary people, is clearly detrimental to social stability.
At this point, concealment is obviously the best course of action.
He just didn't know if the X-Men of this world were any different from those of that world.
Peter wouldn't carelessly apply the settings of another world to a different parallel universe.
Not to mention the inherent differences between parallel universes, his own experiences were enough to explain a lot.
Different Spider-Men of different parallel universes: there's the murderous Shadow Spider-Man, the good-natured bully Spider-Man, and the unreliable Spider-Man (Black Suit) who gets it wrong nine out of ten times (scratch that, it's a good thing this guy isn't Peter Parker).
Different parallel universes have Doctor Octopuses that are male or female, fat or thin.
Even Harry, the Amazing Spider-Man's friend from different worlds, has a significantly different personality.
Therefore, in each world, one cannot arbitrarily judge a person's good or evil based on the "experiences" of other worlds.
"X-Men, huh." Logan paused, then said, "A bunch of guys with naive ideas."
He glanced at the Amazing Spider-Man: "Well, maybe you'd get along with them."
"? Isn't that just saying I'm naive?" the Amazing Spider-Man wanted to retort.
"Hahaha," Peter chuckled a few times, then quickly couldn't laugh anymore.
Because Logan continued, "Possessing great power, yet harboring the naive moral views of ordinary people, being bound by them, what else is it but naive?"
Amazing Spider-Man:
Peter: Thanks, Wolverine. That stung.
Amazing Spider-Man said, "Aren't you part of the X-Men?"
"I am not," Logan started to retort, but quickly relaxed. "Alright, alright, whatever you say. Yeah, I am, but I'm not a softie. My enemies are like this."
He pointed at Doctor Octopus on the ground.
Peter glanced at him, not feeling much of anything.
Wolverine had already said that they had investigated these people. Besides Harry and Electro, the others were all lifers Gustav had broken out of prison, each with at least one life on their hands. They deserved what they got.
However, Logan still carefully introduced the X-Men to Amazing Spider-Man.
The so-called X-Men were a group of people who possessed innate, magical abilities due to genetic mutations, led by the also super-powered "Professor X," a team that jointly maintained world peace.
They fight for a world that fears and rejects them.
And the reason they formed the X-Men was to fight against Magneto's Brotherhood of Mutants, as well as humans who wanted to eliminate mutants.
Magneto was once a colleague and friend of Professor X, and one of the most powerful mutants in the world.
After being hurt by the injustices of humans, he gradually turned away from society.
He believed that humans and mutants could not coexist peacefully, and that the latter, with their great power, should be the true masters of the world.
So, he united with some mutants who shared his ideals, and was willing to do anything to rule the world.
These united individuals were called the Brotherhood of Mutants.
Likewise, on the human side, there were also those who were hostile to mutants.
They were hostile not only to the Brotherhood of Mutants, who often posed a threat to them, but also to the X-Men.
After hearing this, Amazing Spider-Man and Peter understood.
No wonder Wolverine said the X-Men were "a bunch of kids."
Indeed, what they were doing didn't endear them to the mutants, nor did it endear them to humans.
It was like a pig looking in a mirror – neither side liked them.
This made him curious about Professor X, the leader of the X-Men.
Judging from Wolverine's description, the X-Men should be a considerable size.
To get so many mutants with different abilities to willingly do something that was almost thankless, Professor X's charisma must be very high.
"Professor X, he seems like a remarkable person, doesn't he?" Peter asked tentatively. Since they were in the information exchange phase and the other persona had been out for a while, the Amazing Spider-Man had retreated again.
So, Peter was now in control.
Wolverine looked at him with surprise again. "It seems the Professor was right. Something strange has happened to you?"
"Strange?" Peter didn't understand what Wolverine meant at first, but he quickly realized what was happening, and was surprised.
He hadn't expected Wolverine to be able to tell that the two personalities of him and the Amazing Spider-Man were switching!
This was incredible!
"So, you're also a visitor from another time?" Wolverine said.
"Also? Why 'also'?" Peter asked back.
Wolverine said, "Because I'm also from another time."
"Huh?" Peter was shocked this time.
Wolverine continued, speaking to himself, "My world... is probably fifty years in the future from now."
At that time, the X-Men faced their greatest survival crisis ever.
In the present, the X-Men were beings with the most advanced genes. Some could move at high speeds, some had telepathic abilities, some could teleport, and others could control ice and fire.
But in the near future, they were hunted by the "Sentinels," a new type of special combat robot created and controlled by Bolivar Trask, the founder of "Trask Industries," and faced extinction.
Sentinel robots could detect any form of mutant type.
And their genes allowed them to instantly change and modify themselves, defeating the X-Men by using abilities that countered them.
The X-Men's only hope was to go back in time and change history before the research of Trask Industries led to their extinction!
