Faced with the revelation that Alala's ability was far from what they thought, Kismet decided to stand firm. The first to move were the twins. With their movements in sync, they cut the distance between them and Alala.
(Which weapon will they use?)
Alala watched their movements as they entered her range. Mira vanished from her sight while Kira turned his fists into spiked balls. Alala grinned. Deafening noises rang as the twins attacked from the front and the back.
"?!"
Their attacks were stopped by Alala's palms. She grabbed them and threw them in the air. She formed guns with her fingers.
"Harden!"
Batu shouted as he leapt in front of them. A shattering noise resounded, and his body was flung back with holes in it. He groaned and slammed his trembling hand over his chest.
"H-Harden!"
The blood oozing out of him hardened like ice. Alala popped up in front of him and swung her hand. His chest was sliced open and his blood gushed out.
"Can you harden that?"
A pillar of flames swallowed Alala and mud wrapped around Batu's waist.
"Nuh-uh."
Alala's hand flew out of the flames and grabbed Batu's shoulder. Her mask slowly emerged while casting a ghastly shadow.
"I've seen this strategy too many times."
She pulled Batu towards her and punched him in the face. A burst of flames hit his face and he was sent crashing into the ground.
"Batu!"
Belinha shouted as she rushed towards him. Alala fell out of the sky like a missile and stood between them.
"You people don't seem to understand the seriousness of your situation."
Alala stooped down and lifted the mutilated Batu by the head.
"Your lives are seriously at risk. Today might be your last."
She slammed his head into the ground while looking Belinha in the eyes.
"The way you've been fighting was fun for a bit, but I've grown bored of it."
She threw Batu to the side without looking away from her.
"Evolve or Die. Those are your options, nothing else."
Belinha stared at Alala for a while before speaking.
"Evolve, huh? I've been using tactics and strategies to fight you Calamities, but I now see that was a mistake."
Her eyes sharpened.
"I should never use logic when dealing with people whose existence rejects common sense."
Alala nodded.
"You're starting to get it."
"Yeah, but my biggest mistake was trying to force my team to fight in set roles. I've unknowingly restricted them and hindered their growth. After all, Kismet is made up of future sovereigns and sovereigns live by their own rules.
Alala smiled behind her mask as Belinha continued.
"From now on, Kismet will fight with freedom, so run wild. As for me..."
Belinha lifted her hand to her neck.
"I'm gonna lead by example...."
She rubbed her fingernail across her neck and blood sprayed from it and into the air.
"And reject logic and common sense."
A bird cry echoed as Belinha's blood ignited. Scarlet flames engulfed her before towering in the sky. Bird cries were heard again as the flames took the shape of a phoenix.
"Now this is interesting."
Alala faced the phoenix with a grin. At that moment, a presence appeared at her right. Impactor thrust his fist at her side. She was sent flying through the air.
"Don't forget about me!"
"How could I?!"
Alala snapped her fingers as Impactor took a step to chase her. The ground lit up, and he was swallowed by an explosion. He forced through the explosion and took another step, but the same thing happened as before. Every step Impactor took, he was swallowed by an explosion.
Alala turned her head and the phoenix rushed at her. She swung her hand and it was cut into two. The phoenix reattached its halves and fired a burst of flames from its mouth. Alala kicked the air and flew upwards. Lasers suddenly rained down from the heavens. Above her, Mikel stood on an orb of light while surrounded by countless more. Alala manoeuvred through the air, evading the lasers. The phoenix flew through the downpour of lasers without fear and charged at Alala. It fired fireballs at her while moving as fast as a jet.
"I love the aggression."
Alala flew at the phoenix and its attacks while cranking her arms back and forth. She punched out and extinguished fireball after fireball. The phoenix crashed into her and forced her out of the sky. Alala's feet dug into the earth as she stopped the phoenix's charge.
"Weighted flames? It's like a real phoenix."
Impactor pounced at her with burns all over his skin. Alala kicked to the side and blocked his punch.
"Why do you guys always burn my clothes off?!"
He shouted.
"Get stronger ones."
She leapt back and threw the phoenix at him. The twins appeared at her flanks before her feet touched the ground. They fired their machine gun arms at her. She lifted both arms in front of them. Sparks flew as the bullets hit an invisible wall, unable to reach her. She stomped the ground and it exploded, blowing the twins away.
"You have interesting abilities, but you're not using them the right way."
The twins rushed her again. She pointed her fingers at them. Sparks flew as their bodies were hit by invisible attacks. Their steps halted.
"For example, once you turn your body into shields, you freeze."
The twins moved again, but the ground lit up under their feet. They were swallowed by explosions.
"As long as I time it perfectly, you're easy to damage...As for you."
She looked down. The earth underneath her softened. A giant mud serpent flung her in the air and tried to swallow her. Alala took a deep breath and exhaled a burst of flames, hardening the mud. She vanished from where she was and appeared behind Bojana.
"You're far too passive."
Bojana's head slid off her body. It smashed on the ground before turning into mud.
"Oh? Now, that's impressive."
Dozens of Bojana formed from the earth and surrounded Alala. They touched the earth and dozens of mud monsters appeared behind them.
"I take back what I said."
She grinned and stretched her hand out.
"You can do it when you try."
She used her other hand and moved it as if turning a key. The monsters attacked in unison.
"Weapons Change."
A blinding light engulfed the area before a devastating explosion rocked the world.
"Bojana!"
Mikel screamed while in the sky.
"No need to worry."
He spun around and Alala was floating in front of him.
"That girl is too talented to die like that."
She pointed down.
"Let's hope you are too."
She snapped her fingers and an enormous explosion lit up the sky and cleared away every cloud for kilometres.
"Goddammit! How can she move so fast?! And what's with her abilities?! It's like she can do anything!"
Impactor shouted in frustration while the phoenix scanned the area.
"Impactor."
He turned around and a cut appeared across his chest. Before he could react, his body was covered with long cuts and his blood drained on the ground. Alala stood in front of him as he bled out. The phoenix fired a giant beam from its mouth. Alala pointed her gun finger at the beam. Electric sparks flew as electricity cut through the laser and pierced through the phoenix.
"Ever heard of an Electro-laser?"
Alala said while looking at the phoenix regenerate.
"So, your healing abilities are at their peak in this form."
Impactor flew at her. She lifted her hand and his fist hit an invisible wall. A shattering noise reached her ears as the fist hit her in the jaw.
"To break through shield so easily, you guys are the first."
Alala spoke with a smirk. Her hand was against Impactor's neck, and blood was seeping out of a small cut.
"Time's up."
She pulled her hand back and Impactor fell to his knees. He was breathing heavily.
"I'm surprised. You're actually showing signs of fear."
She looked down on him.
"Did you realise you were about to lose your head?"
She smirked under her mask.
"Or is it because you're starting to realise the difference in strength between us?"
Impactor said nothing and tried to collect his breath. She watched him for a bit before the smirk turned into a grin.
"I see, it wasn't fear for your life, was it?"
She stooped down in front of him.
"You were afraid our fight was going to come to an end. You wanted to keep fighting even if you might die."
Just as she wore a smirk, Impactor wore a grin overflowing with savagery. Alala stood up and continued to look down on him. This time with a proud smile.
"Well, aren't you quite the crazy one, "Hero" ?"
