Iris:
"Come here, I'll get you ready for the stroll," I said to her softly, and then I forced a smile on my lips.
I realized quickly that I was a mother. I was not supposed to act as if I was hurt.
Amy happily jumped off her father's lap and rushed toward me.
She ran toward me, and I hugged her.
"You should wait outside. I will get both of them ready and send them out to you," I told Kash, carrying Amy away from him to the bed.
"But I do not want to go," Colin continued to resist.
The minute Kash left the room, I turned to my child, giving him a smile of appreciation for taking a stand for his mother, showing that they did not have to fight a war for me.
"Listen, I want you to go with her and take care of your sister," I told Colin, gently cupping his face in my hand.
"Besides, that is your father. He will never let any harm come to either of you." I convinced my son, and then I prepared them, sending them out to the garden where Lara and Kash were having fun.
