Kash:
"I'm going out, and I want you to take care of my children until I return, okay?" I whispered to Zoe after knocking, while she yawned and stretched sleepily in front of her room.
"Where are you heading so early in the morning?" she asked in a sleepy voice, trying not to make loud sounds because Amy and Colin were sleeping in her bedroom.
Mathew was not allowed in her room, and thankfully she had set that boundary herself.
"ummm" I muttered, placing my hand on the door frame and leaning against it. "I need to do something important," I whispered.
"Okay, it's fine. You can go ahead and trust me with the children," she replied softly, giving me a reassuring nod.
I knew my sister was someone I could trust. She had been really helpful during this time, taking care of my children. None of them had complained about her behavior.
"Thank you," I told her, relieved that she did not press me with questions, even though she probably knew I was hiding something.
