I did not know what had happened, but the way Walkin questioned me again made me pause for a second before answering him.
I could not understand why he sounded so shocked. If anything, shock was an understatement.
He reacted as if I had set his body on fire. First, he went silent, and then he stared me down.
"Yeah, I felt a mate bond with Markus. Can you believe it? I found my mate," I said, growing more excited.
He slowly slipped his hand out of mine.
I guess I did notice it, but I chose not to think too much about it.
That is what happens when you are selfish.
You only think about yourself.
As long as you are happy, nothing else seems to matter.
You do not even stop to consider what someone else might be feeling.
And that was exactly my situation.
