As soon as she heard footsteps approaching, Evelyne turned and saw Simon walking toward her. The man stood beside her, looking out at the same view of the sea.
"You still love him, don't you?" he asked.
"Still loving him is not the right thing to say. This feeling shouldn't still be here, lingering in my heart, because I should have known all this would happen," replied Evelyne, her eyes downcast.
Simon knew that Evelyne had disappeared and lived in another city for six years after her divorce from Tristan. At that time, he thought that Evelyn was trying to move on and no longer think about her ex-husband.
