So this is Heaven. To be honest, I wasn't really expecting a massive city that shined almost like the Pale King's palace.
I was expecting something more cloudlike and lots of baby cherubs flying around. Though I did see some cherubs flying around, they didn't really resemble human babies. Some did, but most were different types of animals — the most common one was sheep.
As I continued to walk with Sera, I was able to more accurately observe the different types of angels. Some were fairly normal-looking, if not for the angel wings and animal-like features, but some were literally just wheels with a hundred eyes and lots of wings.
But that wasn't even the weirdest part. No, the weirdest part was just how awkward everyone was. They would just stare at me, and whenever I looked in their direction, they would either faint or run away.
Was I that scary to them?
As we continued to walk, I looked up at Sera, and she was waving and smiling at everyone she could see. I tried copying her to make myself seem more friendly, but all that did was increase the number of angels fainting.
Knowing this, I quickly stopped waving and simply followed Sera, walking beside her.
Sera, though, quickly took notice that I was being awfully quiet and spoke.
"Is there something wrong, my lor— I mean, Stygian?"
"I'm fine. The angels here seem nice... apart from all the fainting and staring."
"Well, they're not quite used to demons being up here in Heaven, so please give them some time to adjust. I'm sure they'll enjoy your company." She gave me a sincere smile before we continued walking.
After a few minutes of walking, we reached what I assumed was a zoo. Sera greeted the guards, and they all quickly bowed to her.
They began opening the gates and revealed a garden filled with different animals running around. Sera entered, and not wanting to be left behind, I quickly followed after her.
The guards who were still standing finally noticed me, and their eyes widened upon seeing me. I just ignored them and followed behind Sera.
---
The garden was quite beautiful, and the different animals and insects running and flying around only added to that.
As we continued to walk, Sera and I reached a clearing where some animals were sleeping. Sera walked over to the sleeping animals and sat down in the middle, taking in the sights.
I slowly moved past the sleeping animals, carefully navigating through them in order not to wake them up. Once I finally reached Sera, I simply sat beside her and took in the scenery.
As we sat down and simply relaxed, I felt myself slowly falling asleep. It was weird — I didn't usually need sleep, but now, being this relaxed, maybe it was fine if I just had a quick nap.
Feeling my body get heavier, my head landed on something rather soft. I couldn't quite see what it was, but I didn't care.
"Sleep tight... my lord." I heard a voice speak, but I couldn't quite catch what it said.
Until finally, everything went blank, and darkness took my vision.
---
I jolted awake, and now I was back inside the white palace. Looking around, I found myself inside a rather large room. There weren't many decorations, but there was a singular painting in the middle.
The painting depicted an insect that had similar features to myself but was quite different in size... mostly them being way taller.
Looking around some more, I noticed I was on a rather soft bed, and getting off it, I walked over to the exit to leave the room.
Once I was outside, I was quickly greeted by a bunch of bugs wearing robes. They quickly bowed to me as I walked past them.
After walking a bit farther, I finally reached my destination — the meeting room. There, I saw the Radiance, the Pale King, and the White Lady talking with each other.
The Pale King had multiple scrolls floating around him, while the White Lady and the Radiance were drinking tea.
I stepped inside the room to greet them, and they all greeted me back... well, all except the Radiance.
"Hello, my boy. What brings you here today?" the Pale King asked me, setting down the scroll in his hands onto the table.
"Nothing much. I just fell asleep while walking through Heaven's garden," I told them.
"Well, I hope you're having fun. Anyways, I have been studying the effects of the delicate flower on the demons of Hell ever since my lovely wife brought it up." The King raised his hand, gesturing towards the White Lady.
She simply nodded at the King before going back to drinking her tea.
"So, did anything come up?" I asked the King.
"The research has been... slow. The effects seem to not only change the appearance of a demon but affect their very soul. Anything more than this is purely speculation," he said, reading from one of the scrolls that he placed down.
"Well, do let me know if anything comes up. I would like to avoid turning more demons like the maid who cleaned my room."
"I shall, and worry not. We shall find what causes the change, and until then, please avoid any demon that possesses a weak soul. Your other parents, though, seem to be immune from its effects, so you shouldn't have to worry about them entering your room."
"That's reassuring to hear. Anyway, it was nice catching up with all of you, but I think it's time for me to wake up."
The King and Mother nodded and simply returned to what they were doing, and I began to walk out to wake up.
But as I did that, I felt something touch my shoulder. I turned to see that it was the Radiance.
"Where is your nail?"
"Oh, it's still in school. I didn't really have a chance to get it back since I got back."
"Well, summon it back."
"Ok? And how would I do that?"
She huffed before letting go and summoned my nail with a bright flash of light.
"Here, you're going to need it," she said before turning away from me.
But I swear I could see a small smirk on her face.
Ignoring the obviously evil smirk from her, I placed my nail on my back, created the portal, and stepped through.
---
As I slowly woke up, I immediately noticed I wasn't in the garden anymore. Instead, I was now in a rather large bedroom and still lying down on Sera's lap.
Though something felt... off. I got off her lap before getting off the bed.
"Is there something wrong, my lord?" Sera said with a small smile on her face.
Wait—lord?
"What do you mean, lord?" I asked, hoping it was just a mistake on her part.
"What else would I call you? You are God, after all," she said, still smiling.
"Ok, that's a funny joke, but I should be heading home."
As I walked away, heading towards the open door, it suddenly closed, and Sera teleported in front of me.
"Oh, but my lord... you are home," Sera said with a gentle smile, all the while her eyes seemed to glow orange.
