I was workin' on the farm with Ma, makin' sure there wasn't no darn varmints messin' up the crops.
This year's harvest has been quite fruitful — not much trouble since Stygian took care of those loan sharks from Greed.
I'd say times have been lookin' up for us. Well, with all these produce, we'll have no problem feedin' ourselves and even makin' a bit of money on the side.
But the strangest thing done happened earlier this mornin' when I was makin' my rounds 'round the farm.
It was a rather fancy-lookin' carriage, and inside, a tiny imp boy carryin' a letter stepped out and announced himself. Though I have to say, it was quite adorable how he talked all fancy-like.
When he finally finished his long-ass speech, he grabbed somethin' from his satchel and handed me a rather expensive-lookin' letter.
I accepted, of course, and went back inside the house. Readin' the thing, it was from Stygian.
Readin' more, I done found out he became a prince and was now attendin' some fancy-pansy school in the Pride Ring.
That little rascal — in just a few months, he gone and made himself into a prince. To say I was quite happy and shocked would be an understatement.
Well, since I'd finished basically all my chores for the mornin', I decided, "What the hell, why not send him a letter of my own?"
Pickin' up a piece of paper, I started writin' a letter. I didn't know what to write, but it shouldn't be too hard to put somethin' together.
> "Heya, partner. It's your old May here. Thanks for sendin' this here letter to me, and thanks for not forgettin' me since you're now a big-shot prince. We're doin' alright here back at the farm and would love for you to visit one day. I've also got somethin' to tell you I ain't never told Ma — I'm actually seein' someone. Now, you better not go tattlin' this to just anyone, 'cause if you do, I'm gonna smack the sense right outta your tushy, got it? Well, I've rambled on long enough. Hope you got this letter, and I hope you come visit one day. Love, Maylin."
As I signed off the letter, I put it in a rather clean envelope and handed it off to the fancy letter boy.
He accepted the letter and went off, and as I watched the carriage leave, Ma started callin' everyone over for brunch.
As I walked back home, Ma asked me who that was, and I simply told her an old friend wanted to catch up.
