Chapter 15 - I Hate You

The next day, Soren saw Caelen in the same suit waiting for him outside the Orvane studio.

"Is this your uniform or something?" Soren walked up to Caelen. "Don't tell me you are going to the party in this suit."

"What's wrong with my dress?" Caelen replied bowing slightly to greet.

"There is nothing wrong, it looks really good on you but don't you have other dresses that match the party vibe?"

"Please take a seat," Caelen ignored him and opened the car door.

"Are you ignoring me again?" Soren's voice was soft.

"I don't have any. Please take a seat," frustration was evident in his voice.

Soren closed the car door to the backseat that Caelen opened and settled in the passenger seat in front. Caelen rolled his eyes letting out a sigh and got into the driver's seat.

"Take me to Draviel Store first," Soren instructed his face turned to Caelen as always. Caelen silently drove off.

"You know what? You lack skills as a manager," Soren complained. "You need to answer every little thing your artists ask you."

"It's not like I lack skills but I don't want to talk to you," Caelen was cold and expressionless as usual.

I never thought that fragile boy was this cold. We have an invisible wall between us, and it's really hard to cross over that wall. Soren shook his head. It's just the third day, why am I being impatient?

"We have arrived," Caelen said as the car stopped in front of a dress designer shop.

"Come out and give the keys to the employee, then follow me inside," Soren got out of the car and walked inside.

Caelen glanced at his sky blue two piece suit. Isn't he wearing a good suit for the party? Why are we here? He tagged along as instructed.

"You are looking good. Why are you here for?" Caelen said observing the surroundings without realizing that Soren had frozen and turned around to look at him. "We would get late."

"You think I am looking good?" Soren's eyes were fixed on Caelen. "You think this suit looks good on me?"

"Everything looks good on you," Caelen replied without looking at him as his eyes were still wandering around, but soon he realized the intense gaze of Soren. "I mean, you've got a good figure, that's why."

Soren recalled their night together. I didn't get to ask him if he liked me in bed.

Soren walked closer to Caelen, leaving a distance of only one step between them. "Is that a compliment? Do you like my figure?"

"It's a fact," Caelen's voice turned rough. "Stop daydreaming. I don't like you."

"Can you hurry up now? We are getting late," Soren walked ahead at Caelen's reminder and settled on the sofa.

"How would you like me to assist you?" the neatly dressed female employee inquired.

"Get him a good suit." Caelen flinched at Soren's instructions.

"I don't need it," Caelen retorted.

"You can't go to the party like that," Soren got up approaching him. "Just look at me what would people think if they saw you dressed like that?"

Caelen stayed silent.

"Go ahead with her and get a suit," Soren's eyes met Caelen's for a moment. "You can return it later."

Caelen had no choice and followed the female employee inside.

Soren's heart was beating faster every moment, his excitement to see Caelen in a dress made him fidget all over the sofa as he shuffled several times.

"Is this okay?" Caelen asked walking out in a two piece white suit.

Soren forgot to breathe for a moment. His gaze followed every step, tracing the neat lines of the fabric that fit Caelen perfectly. A strange warmth spread through his chest.

"You look so good," Soren barely managed to say those words.

"'Cause I am good looking," Caelen replied nonchalantly.

Soren laughed. "You weren't even reluctant to say that yourself."

Caelen stayed silent. His laughter is attractive. No wonder he still has so many fans doting over him even after such a huge scandal.

"You are cute," Soren said with a big smile.

Caelen knitted his eyebrows. "If that's okay, let's head out. It's already late."

"Do I need to wait outside?" Caelen asked in front of the ballroom.

"Follow along. What if I need something?" Soren entered the spacious ballroom filled with celebrities and billionaires.

Everyone gasped at their entrance. They looked like a good-looking couple with sky blue and white two piece suits.

"Is he a new actor in your label?" An Alpha approached Soren. "Such a beautiful face. He must be an omega, right?"

"He is a Beta." Soren's expressions were stiff as he picked up a wine glass from the waiter's tray. "But he is taken."

He walked ahead into the crowd, Caelen following along. Suddenly too much attention made Caelen shy, and he randomly looked at the ballroom decorations trying to avoid people's gazes.

"Hi, Mr. Soren, I am actress Ravina. I am a huge fan of yours," a tall woman in a royal blue tight skirt and high black heels approached Soren.

She is releasing pheromones. Caelen sensed the thick omega jasmine scent.

"Thanks." Soren seemed to have no effect at all.

"Can I ask you for an autograph?" She walked closer to Soren with a sly smile. "Here." She gestured to her huge breasts as she extended her hand, holding a marker.

"If you act like that in front of someone I like, how would he think about me? Please don't make me look bad for him," Soren maintained a smile while talking.

"Who is that lucky person?" she asked shamelessly.

"The man I love is thousands of times better than you, so don't worry about me—and don't even try to know him. What if you fall for him?"

Everyone turned to Caelen at Soren's words since he was the only one who was male and was not an Alpha in the crowd. Caelen squinted his eyes and tried to ignore their attention.

Soren had to greet a lot of people and tried to smile a bit when doing so, but his face was stiffer today.

Whoever approaches him tries to seduce him, releasing their omega pheromones. How come he is not affected at all? Caelen took a sip of orange juice sitting at a table while Soren was greeting others at a distance.

He took another bite of the steak he was eating. Thankfully, I took inhibitors. There are a lot more Alphas than I thought.

"Hi there." Caelen turned his head to the side from where the voice came from. It was the Alpha from earlier. "Would you like to hang out with me? I don't mind you being a Beta."

"I don't like Alphas." Caelen looked away.

"What? But everyone is saying that you are Soren's man. He is an Alpha too."

Caelen looked back at him. "I am not, so please mind your own business."

"Why would you ask out if I was with someone else?" Caelen mumbled chugging the orange juice left in the glass.

"Because I want to know how good you taste to be with a Prime Alpha. You ought to be good in bed, or else why would he be with a mere Beta?" The Alpha sniffed the wine before taking a sip.

Caelen glared at him before walking to the restroom. Caelen walked up to Soren and whispered in his ear, "When is the party supposed to end?"

The only thing on the schedule today was this party, but even hours later, new guests were entering the ballroom.

"It's not going to end until dawn, and it's just afternoon. But don't worry, we will leave in a while." Soren's voice was soft as he looked amusingly at Caelen who looked tired.

"What type of party goes this long?" Caelen whispered to himself.

"It's a business party right now, but it will turn into a dirty party at night." Caelen looked at him curiously, and he continued, "Dirty party means sex play and..."

"Stop, stop," Caelen interrupted. "I am not curious."

Soren let out a chuckle. "You are so cute."

"Please don't say things like that."

"Who is this? You two seem to get along so well," a tall woman with her friend walked up to them.

"He is the new employee at Orvane Studio." Soren clanked his glass with theirs.

"Is this office romance?" The women asked playfully.

"Well, not yet." Soren glanced at Caelen, who was standing right in front of him. "I'm pursuing him," Soren replied playfully.

"Really? He's such a lucky guy."

"He must be thrilled to know you like him."

Caelen's father's face flashed in front of his eyes.

"Clap!" A sharp slap landed on Soren's face, his head snapping to the side. His eyes widened, trying to process what had just happened. Everyone gasped at the loud slap that echoed in the hall. Caelen stood in front of him, trembling with anger.

"What? Pursuing? Lucky? I hate you with all my guts! Don't go around calling my name with yours!"

Caelen spun around to leave, but Soren caught his wrist, pulling him back.

"Alright, I was wrong. I'm sorry."

Caelen blinked, taken aback by his quick apology.

"I'm tired," Soren continued softly. "Could you drive me back to my dorm?"

Caelen let out a long breath and nodded. "Sure."

Once they settled into the car, Soren placed his hand firmly on the steering wheel, stopping Caelen from turning the key.

"What I said earlier is true," he said quietly. "I love you and I am trying to pursue you."

Caelen tried to shove him away, but Soren caught his wrists, pinning them above his head as he leaned over him. Their faces were inches apart.

"Let me make this clear," Soren murmured in a low voice. "I love you. I don't care if you hate me, because I'm not giving up on you no matter what."
