Chapter 216 - Chapter 216: Memory modified?

Naruto eliminated the Claw Grimes, and before he could properly assess the situation, the sky suddenly darkened.

He looked up and saw several pitch-black cubes descending from above.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

With five heavy impacts, the objects summoned by Daikokuten slammed directly into Naruto's position.

Dust erupted in all directions.

Kawaki frowned, sensing that something was wrong.

Judging from how easily Naruto had eliminated the Claw Grimes, this man was definitely not weak.

Then why hadn't he even attempted to evade such a probing attack?

Sarada immediately shouted when she saw Kawaki attack upon arriving, "He's not an enemy!"

Kawaki coldly glanced at her. "Anyone who impersonates Hokage-sama—enemy or not—doesn't deserve mercy."

In the distance, Code saw more and more Konoha ninja gathering and immediately decided to retreat.

No matter how confident he was in his strength, the numbers were becoming overwhelming.

And Uchiha Sasuke had appeared for unknown reasons.

It would be wiser to return to the Divine Tree for now. As for killing Boruto, that would require more careful planning.

Code activated his space-time Ninjutsu and vanished, distancing himself from Konoha.

Boruto arrived moments later, just in time to see Code escape.

However, Boruto wasn't focused on Code at all.

He was staring at Sasuke in shock.

"Master…? Weren't you—"

His words were filled with disbelief and confusion.

Two years ago, Sasuke had "sacrificed" himself in a battle against Code.

Or rather—he had been trapped by the Divine Tree.

So why was Sasuke here now?

Not only that, but his Rinnegan was completely intact.

And he had even helped Boruto.

Elsewhere—

On Naruto's side.

The dust slowly settled.

Kawaki stared into the fading cloud, his eyes sharp.

But there was no one there.

Just as confusion crossed his mind, he sensed movement behind him.

Danger surged.

The Karma Seal on Kawaki's arm activated instantly.

Fiery red patterns spread across his body and up to his face.

But in the next moment—

A hand gently rested on his shoulder.

"Are young people always this impulsive?" Naruto said calmly. "Don't carry so much hostility."

Kawaki tried to resist.

But Naruto subtly increased the pressure.

It felt as if a massive mountain was descending upon him.

Despite his scientifically modified body—and the power of the Ōtsutsuki—Kawaki couldn't resist at all.

The force from Naruto's palm was like an unavoidable natural disaster.

Kawaki trembled violently, gritting his teeth.

But it was useless.

Thud—

Half his body was pressed directly into the ground.

"Calm down," Naruto said, easily suppressing the agitated boy before looking around.

By now, all the young Konoha ninja had arrived.

Boruto. Sarada.

The Ino–Shika–Chō team that had rushed in.

Inojin and Uzumaki Himawari circling above.

Logically speaking, seeing these people shouldn't have stirred any emotions in Naruto.

But—

Why were they dressed like this?

Boruto was understandable.

After all, he'd gone through a lot—and had been trained by a guy nicknamed the "King of Cool."

But Sarada and Himawari?

Their haori were worn improperly, deliberately slipping off one shoulder.

Their belts looked half-fastened, like they might fall apart at any moment.

What made Naruto's soul tremble was—

Himawari was dressed the same way.

Hiss… it's over.

A delinquent girl and an edgy guy?

This wasn't Naruto being nosy.

Based on his understanding, these people were supposed to be templates for his future children.

So these were the little demons he'd have to deal with someday?

Naruto's twitching lips betrayed his inner collapse.

He quickly shook his head.

No, no, no… they have nothing to do with me.

If I ever have kids, I'm doubling down on education.

No way I'm letting Boruto turn into a brat who only matures after suffering.

After Naruto subdued Kawaki and Code retreated, the battlefield finally calmed down.

Everyone present now noticed Naruto and Sasuke—two complete outsiders.

Boruto rushed toward Sasuke. "Master! Aren't you—?"

Sasuke calmly asked instead, "How old are you?"

"Huh?" Boruto froze.

Why would Sasuke ask that?

Still, out of respect, he answered honestly. "Sixteen."

"I see…" Sasuke murmured, lost in thought.

Then he turned to Naruto. "We came to the wrong world."

"This world is two years ahead of my timeline."

Naruto blinked, then nodded. "Oh—so that's how it is."

Sasuke said nothing more and turned to leave. "Let's go."

To him, this world wasn't his.

He had no intention of interfering.

All he wanted was to return and have Naruto help him sort things out.

But Naruto didn't move.

He shrugged. "Every world feels the same to me. I'll stay."

His goal was simple—to study the Ōtsutsuki.

And they were right here.

Sasuke paused.

After a moment, he said, "I'll wait for you at the Dragon Vein."

Then he left.

Boruto immediately stopped him, bombarding him with questions.

Sasuke clearly didn't want to explain.

To everyone else, their exchange was bizarre.

A middle-aged Sasuke.

Paired with a youthful Naruto.

It made no sense.

As Boruto clung to Sasuke, everyone turned their attention to Naruto.

Sarada hesitated, then asked softly, "Ho… Hokage-sama?"

If anyone here understood Naruto best—aside from Sasuke—it was Sarada.

She had admired the Hokage since childhood.

And Naruto… was him.

Even Boruto didn't understand Naruto as deeply as she did.

She was certain.

This Naruto was real.

Not a Shadow Clone. Not a Transformation.

Naruto nodded at her kindly and casually pulled Kawaki out of the ground.

Holding Kawaki with one hand, Naruto examined the patterns on his body and stroked his chin.

"So this is Ōtsutsuki power?" he said with interest.

It felt… mediocre.

If this was all the Ōtsutsuki had to offer—

Naruto could just go home, wait for them to descend, and wipe them out effortlessly.

"Hokage-sama…?" Kawaki looked flustered.

Guilt, confusion, and complicated emotions flooded his face.

He didn't resist.

But someone else wasn't happy.

Eida—Kawaki's number one devotee—had arrived.

Seeing Kawaki treated this way, she instinctively activated Omnipotence.

But the instant it activated—

Naruto sensed it.

His azure eyes shifted.

A golden aura erupted from his body.

Terrifying sealing power surged outward, directly suppressing the Ōtsutsuki Divine Art.

Omnipotence—normally irresistible—failed.

A golden spherical barrier formed around Naruto.

Outside it, something eerie struggled to invade, attempting to influence his existence.

Naruto recalled fragments of future knowledge and murmured, "An Ōtsutsuki Divine Art, huh."

"The strength is decent. The mechanism is strange."

"But against me—it's insufficient."

Without moving, Naruto activated his Rinnegan.

Shinra Tensei.

Sealing power combined with repulsion.

All abnormal chakra phenomena were forcibly expelled.

The surrounding Konoha ninja staggered, dizzy.

The memory-altering influence shattered.

Boruto…?

Kawaki…?

Their identities—

Eida altered their memories?!
