Code turned his head toward the source of the sound with one eye and saw a punkish young girl staring straight at him.
"Of course I know," Code sneered. "Instead of chasing that bastard all over the ninja world, I might as well kill you. That'll force him to come out."
Then he would avenge the Ōtsutsuki… and his lost eye.
At this moment, Konoha had already been invaded by the Claw Grimes cultivated by Code.
The Konoha ninja were exhausted dealing with these monsters—Claw Grimes created from the Ten-Tails.
Although they were called Claw Grimes, they were essentially an evolved form of White Zetsu.
In short, there was no one in Konoha who could immediately come to Sarada's aid.
Code quietly condensed chakra, mixing iron elements from his own blood. An almost imperceptible speck of dust drifted toward Sarada.
"Once I kill you," Code said coldly, "Boruto will come crawling to me to die."
But in the very next second, something completely unexpected happened.
A forty-size foot slammed directly into Code's face.
"Ugh—!"
Code cried out in pain, slashing wildly with his sharp claws at the attacker.
But his opponent was no weakling.
Boruto drew his ninja blade, clashing head-on with Code's claws.
Sparks flew as overwhelming force collided.
Code was forced back, glaring viciously at the newcomer.
A young man with blond hair, a vertical scar over his right eye, and a rogue Konoha headband stood protectively in front of Sarada.
Seeing Boruto appear, Code immediately commanded three to five Claw Grimes to surround both of them.
Boruto, however, remained completely calm.
He stood still as the cold wind fluttered the black cloak left behind by his master.
One hand rested on the hilt of his unsheathed sword.
"Get lost," Boruto said flatly.
Code laughed. "You really came at the perfect time. If I'd known, I would've attacked Konoha earlier."
Boruto was already seething with rage over Sarada being targeted.
However, Claw Grimes were everywhere, and Code himself was no easy opponent.
More importantly, after three years apart, Boruto couldn't fully gauge how much Sarada had grown.
Without absolute certainty of her safety, Boruto had no intention of fighting Code here.
So he gave a final warning.
"Take your monsters and leave," Boruto said. "Or you'll die here."
The words stunned Code.
He was the one launching a terror attack—and Boruto was telling him to retreat?
"You really don't understand the gap between us," Code mocked. "Who's the one who's been running all over the ninja world these past years?"
Boruto replied coldly, "Leave before I decide to move… or you'll lose your other eye too."
Code's lips twitched.
This Boruto was arrogant.
Two years ago, Code had fought Boruto and a one-armed Uchiha at the same time and still managed to escape.
And now Boruto dared to threaten him?
Just as the two locked eyes—
"Boruto?" Sarada said excitedly from behind him.
Boruto answered without turning around, "We'll talk later. First, we deal with him."
At the same time, Konoha's ninja forces were rushing in from all directions, desperately fighting off the Claw Grimes attacking civilians.
The new generation Ino–Shika–Chō team worked in perfect coordination, killing a Claw Grimes together.
High above, a massive white bird soared through the sky.
On its back were Inojin—using Super Beast Scroll—and Uzumaki Himawari.
They were handling reconnaissance and support.
Suddenly, a Claw Grimes leaped from the ground, soaring dozens of meters into the air and tearing the white bird apart.
Himawari lost her footing and fell.
"Danger!" Inojin shouted.
A ferocious Claw Grimes lunged toward her.
At the critical moment, Uzumaki Kawaki arrived, kicking the monster away and saving Himawari.
She landed safely and thanked him.
But Kawaki responded coldly, "How many times do I have to tell you? Don't call me that."
Though the reason for their strained relationship was unclear, the immediate crisis was resolved.
Just as everyone relaxed—
The Claw Grimes that Kawaki struck did not die.
It stood back up.
The black half of its face split open, revealing a single eye.
A Rinnegan.
"A special one?" Kawaki frowned.
Before he could react, the monster vanished.
In the next instant, a massive claw pinned Kawaki to the ground.
Fortunately, a blue-haired girl arrived and activated Omnipotence, erasing the Claw Grimes from existence.
"Kawaki! Are you okay?" Eida asked as she ran over. "I saw you were in danger."
Her infatuation with Kawaki was already common knowledge throughout Konoha.
Why she cared so deeply remained unclear—but with Clairvoyance and Omnipotence, she was practically willing to throw away her dignity for him.
Kawaki stood up grimly and said nothing, immediately heading off to deal with the remaining Claw Grimes.
The other Konoha juniors followed.
Daemon muttered, "Sis, is your Clairvoyance broken or something?"
Eida glared at him and dragged him along.
Meanwhile—
The battle between Boruto and Code had fully erupted.
Five Claw Grimes rushed Boruto simultaneously.
Boruto drew his blade and cut them all down in an instant.
Nearby, Sarada also demonstrated her strength, effortlessly handling her opponents.
Some passing ninja whispered in awe, "These two don't look like genin at all…"
But before Sarada could warn them—
A Rinnegan-bearing Claw Grimes burst from the shadows and lunged at her.
At the same time, Code's body flickered, reappearing behind Boruto.
Both were in immediate danger.
Boruto prepared to counter—
But suddenly—
Space twisted.
Boruto's position was replaced.
Sasuke Uchiha appeared, using Amenotejikara to swap places, activating Susanoo as a skeletal arm slammed down toward Code.
Code was startled and retreated instantly.
"Sasuke?!" Code exclaimed. "Didn't you already—?!"
On the other side—
The Claw Grimes closed in on Sarada.
"Look out!" someone shouted.
Too late.
Then—
A golden kunai flew in and blocked the monster.
Naruto arrived, slightly surprised. "Didn't expect even a grunt to have a Rinnegan."
He raised his hand.
A small golden square formed, rapidly expanding into a house-sized Dust Release domain.
This was a fusion of Sage Mode, Nine-Tails chakra, and Naruto's own power—refined into Dust Release.
No hand seals.
The Claw Grimes entered the domain and was instantly disintegrated.
Kawaki and the others arrived just in time to witness it.
Kawaki broke out in a cold sweat.
"H-Hokage-sama…?!"
"No… the chakra feels similar—but far stronger… and that age…"
"Damn it! How dare he impersonate Hokage-sama—he's asking to be killed!"
