Damian and Sylus were quite watching, waiting for Asta to make up his mind.
Asta looks between Sylus and Damian, after sighing yet again did he start to speak " what if you decide to keep him, then what"
" then the master do as he wishes, also don't use such words little brother, if anything you are the one without a human form " Damian said with a bitter sweet smile .
Asta glanced at him without a word having long lost his anger, " sure but what if the captain does not agree on it, are you gonna tell her to give you a chance too"
" I don't think the captain will disagree, if she does then so be it, but I believe our Master will put in a word for me "
" no matter who approves of you I will never" Asta said.
"That's the nicest thing you could come up with? I didn't know we were saying our feelings to each other " Damian said.
Sylus got up and walked to the bed, Asta who was sitting at the side of it jumped down then Sylus dropped himself at the center of the bed, Asta walked past Damian with a straight face as if he wasn't there but soon caught his reflection in the full length mirror and stopped.
Damian didn't mind his actions and walked towards Sylus. he sat at the edge and called " Dear Master"
Sylus opened his eyes and looked at his at the corner of his eye, " hmm?"
"If you recall, Master Sylus, I once spoke to you about the Sin-Bound Chronicles."
" yeah, you mentioned a few things, what are you trying to get at"
"As the current keeper of the chronicles , there is something I believe we should discuss."
Sylus sat up " what is it"
Damian pushed forward, the two of them close to pass off as old friends about to talk business ,
"I made mention that some spirits are sealed within the book, their seals comes with an expiration date,"
Sylus leaned closer to him " are you saying there is a spirit going to be unleashed"
" as expected of you Master, I need not to talk " Damian smiled.
" what are we going to do about it,"
" I place a seal on it as we speak, it's in a frozen time line but not for long, it would eventually be broken"
" what do you know about the spirit"
" it's a female spirit, a succubus at that and a friend of mine"
" a succubus you say, and a friend of yours then I need not to worry"
Damian smiled " that's a relief , I thought it would be a problem "
" but still, this is not an easy news"Sylus laid back down on the bed thinking of everything that had transcended till now, Damian got up and went back to the seat beside the window, Asta ears heard everything but didn't bother to react,
" little brother" Damian called and Asta looked at him through his reflection in the mirror "Don't you think it's strange how our master seems to change base on his surroundings"
" what the hell are you talking about " Asta shot back
" haven't you noticed, back on earth, his understanding and attitude was that of a guy his age, but when we got here, it was like he was a different person, someone wealthy of the kings title"
" and you just noticed " Asta said and Damian was taken aback " call me when you have something not useless to say"
Damian turned back, not bothering taking out the chronicles he opened to the scriptures about sins, even though has more knowledge on the sins and the master-sin bound he still hasn't learned even half of what is written inside the book, he needs to enrich himself.
Sylus laid there thinking, about everything, every single thing that had happened, most of it was just chaos energy but Damian,
For Damian, it's a new kind of chaos, one that is strange,
Sylus looked at Damian and then Asta. " Damian" he called out
"Master" Damian responded.
"Asta"
" what" Asta responded.
" nothing" he said and Asta rolled his eyes but Damian was already standing next to the bed, Sylus sat up and patted next to him, Damian sat down,
" the fold can't it be taken off"
Damian flinched but he answered " it can " ' by your command ' he wished he could say that too but Asta was right there, if he found out how, he would gain a little power over him,
Sylus looked at his face for a while,
"then take it off"
the room seems to go quiet for Damian, he could feel the rush of energy in the seal, he could feel himself gaining what was sealed away, he could feel the seal at its edge.
But it wasn't enough, the energy isn't enough to break completely, it must be a command not a request or just a say.
"is that a command" he asked
Sylus frowned, what has command got to do with it, does he not want to take it off, must it be a command before it comes off, but if he wants him to make it a command the so be it.
" ...Y-"
" Do you think my fur needs to grow a bit longer "Asta's voice interrupted Sylus's responses.
Both of them turned to look at him, he was still in front of the mirror, if looks could kill he would have been dead,
Sylus looked at him and looked away not giving him an answer
" it's just, I think I would look more powerful when my fur looks like my energy evaporating from me," Asta added
"you wish to look like water particles in the air ?" Damian asked feeling irritated,
" no I wish to look more powerful" Asta responded feeling the sarcasm in Damian's tone,
Sylus laid back down on the bed and Damian saw his opportunity vanish before him.
" Asta I don't see why you think you don't look powerful, though you have forms, the bigger you are the more powerful you look, so it's not a problem "Sylus said and waved his hand to Damian, that was his dismiss signal, Damian went back to the seat next to the window and sighed.
To get anything at all done Asta must be absent, he took the chronicles and opened to the page he left off.
in the past whenever Asta was around luck doesn't go Damian's way, he must go somehow if Damian wants to ride off the fold.
...
*present time*...
A soft knock sounded at the door and Zipporah's voice came through.
"Enter."
Zipporah pushed the door open slowly, stepping just inside before pausing.
"Master Sylus… may I come in?"
Sylus, who had been lying on the bed, shifted slightly at her voice. He sat up, his gaze settling on her.
"You may."
She stepped in fully, closing the door gently behind her. Her eyes moved across the room for a brief second—taking in the space, the large windows, the quiet presence within.
Then she stopped.
Not too close.
Not too far.
Just near enough to be heard.
Asta stood before the mirror across the room, his reflection staring back at him as if he were studying something only he could see. He didn't speak, but his eyes flicked briefly toward Zipporah before returning to the mirror.
Near the window, Damian sat with a book in hand, turning a page with quiet precision. He did not look up immediately.
Zipporah clasped her hands lightly in front of her wondering who these people were.
"The students are waiting for you at the library," she said. "As you requested."
Sylus swung his legs off the bed, rising to his feet with unhurried ease.
"I see."
Damian closed his book softly and moved his gaze to his master.
Asta's reflection shifted as he finally turned his head slightly, a faint interest passing through his eyes.
Zipporah remained where she stood, the silence in the room pressing lightly against her.
For a moment, no one spoke.
Then Sylus stepped forward.
"Then we shouldn't keep them waiting."
He walked past her without hesitation.
Zipporah turned quickly, following after him.
Behind them, Damian rose smoothly from his seat,
Asta lingered for a second longer, glancing once more at his reflection, before a small, knowing smile crossed his face.
Then he followed.
The door closed behind them.
And the room fell silent once more.
