Chapter 64 - A Matter of Tension

The ride back to the resort was quiet at first. The hum of the car engine filled the space between them — that, and the faint scent of strawberries still lingering from the crate she'd refused to take home.

Hye-rin stared out the window, arms crossed, her lips pressed tight. Beside her, Joon-hyuk sat with his usual composed indifference, scrolling through his phone as if nothing at all had happened.

Finally, she couldn't stand it anymore.

"So," she began, her tone sharp enough to slice through the air, "you just let that woman believe we're married?"

He didn't look up. "You were the one standing there. You could've corrected her."

"I tried!" she snapped. "You just— you made it worse! Why did you even say 'something like that'?"

He adjusted his cufflinks, still maddeningly calm. "It wasn't worth explaining. She was just being polite."

Hye-rin stared at him in disbelief. "Not worth explaining? She literally thought I'm your wife!"
