Chapter 61 - Chapter 60 Invasion of Blackgate Penitentiary

An EMP bomb! Ra's al Ghul actually released an EMP bomb on Damian!

This bomb not only paralyzed his nano-suit but also paralyzed his own bodily functions.

However, Ra's al Ghul acted with restraint; he only wanted to keep Damian, not kill him.

"You'll stay with us for a while. Talia has been missing you a lot lately."

As he spoke, Talia suddenly emerged from the shadows. She gently picked up Damian.

Damian felt he had grown up and was a little awkward with such intimacy.

Moreover, he harbored resentment towards his grandfather's ambush, so he simply turned his head away and refused to look at them.

Talia didn't mind his childish behavior and remained very gentle.

"Damian, you don't need to worry about Bruce. We won't kill him."

Upon hearing this, Damian finally turned his head. He looked at his mother, hoping she would explain more clearly.

"The real obstacle to destroying Gotham is Batman, not Bruce, so we only need to destroy Batman."

At this point, Ra's al Ghul interjected:

"And then, a brand new Bruce Wayne will be reborn on the corpse of the deceased Batman!"

"And he will be the most suitable heir for the League of Assassins!"

"A ruthless, absolutely rational, yet supremely intelligent heir."

Damian suddenly shouted, "The heir of the League of Assassins should be me!"

Ra's al Ghul nodded kindly, "Of course it's you, Damian."

"But not now. You're not mature enough yet. Let Bruce clear some obstacles for you."

"I don't need him to do that!" Damian was very indignant; he didn't feel inferior to Batman at all.

At least he wouldn't be captivated by a trollop dressed like a cat; he had disliked that cat for a long time.

Just a petty thief... So Damian told Talia about the ambiguous relationship between Cat Woman and Batman, knowing that his mother still had feelings for Batman.

Sure enough, Talia's face turned terrifying after hearing this.

"Cat Woman, I have indeed heard of this woman."

"I thought Bruce had let her go. So that's it, they're still in contact..."

Talia's soft-spoken manner made Damian shiver a little, so he was as quiet as a docile quail.

On the other side of the city, in the areas around Crime Alley.

Gang members felt the changes in Batman most deeply.

"He seems like a different person," someone said.

After Red Hood's brutal education, the gangs' activities had been curbed considerably recently.

But Red Hood was just one person; he couldn't manage Gotham's nearly 8500 square kilometers of land.

Nor could he manage all the crimes happening almost every moment here; he was, after all, just a human.

But Batman could. As long as the phantom of the Bat lit up in the night sky, Gotham's crime would at least drop by half.

Because no one thought Batman was human; he was more like a symbol.

A symbol of fear.

And tonight, that symbol became even more concrete.

Blackgate Penitentiary suddenly went dark.

At this moment, Amanda Waller was at Blackgate Penitentiary. She clearly had other plans for Killer Croc, which were related to her future schemes.

When she saw the sudden darkness, she was startled at first, then quickly composed herself and began to direct the personnel on site.

"Get the maintenance department to quickly find out the cause of the power outage and activate the backup power supply!"

"Officer, the backup power supply cannot be activated!"

Amanda glared at the staff member, "You'd better give me a reasonable explanation."

Could it be that Blackgate Penitentiary was so audacious that they even dared to embezzle the funds for the backup power supply?

The staff member swallowed, mustered his courage, and said,

"The backup power supply has been sabotaged in advance and cannot be activated."

Amanda frowned upon hearing this. She keenly sensed that something was amiss.

"Order the disciplinary unit to deploy and maintain order, especially among the criminals in the cells. Tell those pieces of trash to calm down!"

"Yes!"

In the darkness, a pitch-black Shadow merged into it.

The disciplinary unit did not notice an extra person in their ranks. They used their walkie-talkies to confirm their respective positions and split up.

The Shadow followed at the very end. He suddenly struck, knocking out the last team member.

He used his technology to copy the list of criminals and prison serial numbers hidden on this team member, finding the target he was looking for.

Then he replaced the last team member, periodically maintaining conversations with other members to present a facade that everything was normal.

Finally, in the depths of a prison, he found the person he was looking for.

The gate of this prison was a sophisticated electronic lock, requiring a senior member's ID card to open.

Coincidentally, the unlucky person he knocked out was a senior member.

The Shadow took out the ID card he had searched from the other person, swiped it, and opened the door.

Before the criminal inside could react, he walked in and closed the door again.

"Basil, there's something I want to ask you."

The distinctive deep voice sounded, and the prisoner quickly understood who the visitor was.

"It's you, Batman!"

Using the moonlight filtering through the sealed glass window, Batman stepped out of the shadows, the moonlight only illuminating his upper body.

Half of Batman's face was unreadable in the moonlight, but Basil clearly felt a chill.

Basil Karlo, the first Clayface, and an important leader of the Clay Gang.

There was more than one Clayface; Batman himself had personally captured no fewer than five or six Clayfaces.

But Basil was the first Clayface, and the birth of other Clayfaces was more or less related to him.

Basil quietly took a step back. He felt this was a good opportunity.

If Batman could get in, he could naturally get out 223.

So Basil used his abilities to quietly condense a sharp blade behind him, intending to ambush Batman.

But he did not know that under Batman's night vision goggles, none of his movements escaped his eyes.

Under the Batman mask, his expression grew even colder.

"I don't want to hurt you, Basil, but if necessary, I will."

With that, before Basil could make a move, Batman's arm's nanobots quickly restructured, transforming into a freeze gun.

This was technology he had copied from Mr. Freeze when he captured him previously. The freeze gun shot out a freezing ray.

In an instant, Basil's right hand was frozen. Basil only blinked, and Batman was already within arm's reach.

"Wait!"

Just as he was about to beg for mercy, Batman stomped down!

This suit could engage in hand-to-hand combat with a rampaging Killer Croc, so its power was imaginable. Basil's frozen arm was directly crushed.

"Ah—! No!"

Basil clutched his right hand, his body rapidly transforming, trying to turn into mud.

Batman's left and right hands once again combined and transformed, becoming two sub-sonic weapons, which made a soft sound.

It was like the sound of a bubble popping, but Basil's not-yet-fully transformed body went limp like real mud, completely still.

Batman stepped on the muddy ground, looking down at Basil.

"Now, you should be able to recall the attitude you used when speaking to me."
