Chapter 77 - Chapter 76 There Are Three Green Lanterns

About a week had passed since Hal put on the lantern ring again, and his mastery over its power became increasingly proficient.

And in combat, he also became more adept at using his imagination to create constructs to aid him.

He didn't know how other Green Lanterns did it, but Hal's imagined constructs were usually very common tools.

For example, sports equipment, furniture and appliances, cars and airplanes, and so on.

He rarely manifested truly threatening weapons, such as guns, explosives, nuclear bombs, or hydrogen bombs.

By now, Diana found it much harder to defeat him as easily as before.

This evening, Hal was flying in the sky.

He was enjoying the night view of Coast City while talking on the phone with Carol.

Since that night, his relationship with Carol seemed to show signs of warming up.

Carol hadn't revealed that she knew his secret identity; she hoped that one day Hal would tell her himself.

"You said you wanted to take time off?" There was a hint of surprise in Carol's voice.

She was not only Hal's ex-girlfriend but also his direct superior—a little thrilling, perhaps?

—Female Superior.avi.

"You can, but for a week?"

"Where are you going?"

Hal flew higher into the sky, feeling elated.

"I don't know, maybe some exploration, some sightseeing."

In fact, he had received an invitation from Dane and, after consideration, had officially decided to join the Justice League.

He wanted to visit the League's headquarters during this time and help out.

Dane wanted to try to fit a World into a small object, which required the help of the lantern ring.

"It's also a good chance for me to get away from old Ferris; he's probably not too fond of me right now."

Carol understood what he meant. Originally, it wouldn't have mattered since they had broken up.

But the recent rekindling of their old flame made President Ferris feel a bit unhappy, and he found Hal annoying every time he saw him.

Carol thought about Hal's current identity and couldn't help but worry about the dangerous situations he might be involved in in the future.

She couldn't help but say, "Hal, if you feel like you're having difficulties, you can talk to me."

Carol was saying heartfelt words, but Hal's expression had already turned serious.

Because he was far enough from the ground and close enough to space, he had already seen three green meteors flying into Earth from outer space.

He immediately realized that these were very likely the Green Lantern Corps members Dane had mentioned.

"Sorry, Carol, I have to go. I'll call you later."

With that, he hung up and dialed Dane's number.

"This is Dane."

"It's me, Hal. I saw three green guys entering Earth from low Earth orbit."

"Send me the coordinates."

"Okay, I'll just…"

Before Hal could finish speaking, the three green meteors suddenly accelerated and flew straight towards him.

One beam of green light was even faster than a meteor, almost appearing right in front of him in the blink of an eye.

After a week of training, Hal had developed some combat awareness. His body swayed, dodging the green light.

Just then, a green arm, like a pincer, whizzed past him.

If he hadn't dodged, he would have been caught by now.

"It seems they're not here with good intentions," Hal thought.

However, the person didn't use a lethal weapon, so it seemed they just wanted to give him a warning.

Meanwhile, Kilowog was surprised that this new rookie had dodged the attack.

"It seems his quality is not bad," Tomar-Re, who witnessed the situation, said with a smile.

"The lantern ring never chooses the wrong person, does it?"

The third person in the team was Boudicca, a Green Lantern known as an iron lady.

She had pink skin and off-White hair, and her facial features were almost indistinguishable from those of a human.

She seemed to appreciate Hal; after all, in terms of appearance, Earthling handsome men conformed to her race's aesthetic.

"Perhaps, but to become Abin Sur's successor, he needs to show more."

Abin Sur, like Sinestro, was revered by the Corps members as the greatest Green Lantern.

As a training officer, Kilowog had a close friendship with Abin Sur, and he couldn't accept an Earthling as that person's successor.

"Let's see if this Earthling is worthy of inheriting Abin Sur's great legacy!"

After speaking, Kilowog shot out green light again, this time not a construct, but a direct beam.

Hal naturally couldn't be faster than light, so he could only raise a shield in front of his body.

The green laser struck the shield, pushing him away.

He stopped on a small reef island in the sea.

"At this point, shouldn't you introduce yourselves first?" Hal looked at the three who had landed.

Kilowog spoke: "No need, because I know very well that you are not worthy of this lantern ring!"

Hal was a bit annoyed by this, but after spending a long time with Dane, he had also learned to be sarcastic.

"Is that so? I thought it was the lantern ring's choice."

Then he raised an eyebrow, looking at Kilowog provocatively: "So you're the one who decides all this?"

"Then why don't you just call out to it and tell it to go back with you?"

When had Kilowog ever put up with such insolence?

He immediately pointed his lantern ring, and shackles appeared at Hal's feet, fixed to the ground, restricting his movement.

Then Kilowog's massive body charged directly. If this Impact landed, Hal would surely suffer some superficial injuries.

But Hal reacted extremely quickly. He instantly manifested a chainsword, exactly like the kind the big armored guys use in Warhammer 40K.

He swung it down with one hand, and Kilowog hastily dodged to the side.

Hal took the opportunity to hack the chainsword at the leg irons, splitting them open.

"Hmm~ he's got some moves," Boudicca commented with a smile.

But Tomar-Re wasn't in the mood. Seeing that Kilowog couldn't take down the opponent immediately, he couldn't help but step forward to help.

He pointed his hand, and his lantern ring connected to a giant bident that flew towards Hal.

"That's not fair."

Tomar-Re was sure he heard the voice, and quickly used his lantern ring to scout for enemies.

But just as the voice appeared, a red figure materialized out of thin air, reaching out and grabbing the tip of the bident.

Dane lightly squeezed it with one hand, and the weapon made of green energy instantly exploded.

"A one-on-one is a sign of respect for this fight, isn't it?" He said with a smile to the fish-headed alien opposite him.

Tomar-Re and Boudicca simultaneously entered a state of alert.

"Who are you?" Boudicca's expression was grave.

The way the opponent appeared was completely unexpected; the lantern ring hadn't issued any warning.

"You intruded upon this Planet without permission, yet you turn around and question who I am?"

"That doesn't seem reasonable."

Dane's body floated up, and his eyes flashed with lightning.

"Green Lantern Corps, when entering someone else's home, you should know basic etiquette. You seem to lack such upbringing."

The Green Lantern Corps traveled the Universe; when had they ever heard such arrogant words?

Tomar-Re and Boudicca, to uphold the Corps' honor, attacked Dane without thinking.

However, it was clear that he wasn't using his full strength; he just wanted to teach him a lesson.

But Dane wanted to test the mettle of these Green Lanterns.

Legend has it that the Green Lantern Corps is invincible in one-on-one combat, weak against three, and guaranteed to be wiped out by five. He wanted to verify this.

So, when he saw the two of them still trying to use those non-offensive constructs against him, he directly used Hercules' strength to tear their constructs to shreds.

"Your will is truly weak."

He deliberately let out a mocking laugh, attempting to provoke them, and he succeeded.

Kilowog immediately abandoned Hal and directly constructed a miniature green Sun behind Dane.

It didn't simulate the Sun's temperature, but it did simulate the Sun's gravity.

Dane instantly felt a huge force pulling at him, pulling at every cell in his body.

"Oh? Is it gravity?"

Dane stood his ground, connecting himself to the earth with magic.

Tomar-Re, with his fish-like face, constructed a gun, and lasers shot out from its barrel.

Boudicca constructed a meteor, larger than Dane himself, and it smashed directly towards him.

Hal, seeing this, wanted to go help, but Dane stopped him.

"Let me play."

Hal was somewhat speechless at his words.

Dane ignored the laser shot by the fish-faced alien; it hit the lightning symbol on his chest and was deflected, causing him no harm.

As the meteor approached, Dane stopped it with one hand, as easily as catching a baseball, and then he flung it aside.

The meteor struck Kilowog at an incredibly fast speed, and the miniature Sun he had constructed also swayed precariously as if about to disintegrate.

Dane wielded lightning with both hands, striking Tomar-Re and Boudicca, one with each hand, making them scream skyward from the shock.

But this time, the lightning didn't disappear like a one-time attack; it persisted, like two large hands pulling the two of them over.

Dane, holding the two aliens, one in each hand, then threw them into the miniature Sun, smashing it to pieces.

He shook his head.

"You are too weak."

If all the Green Lanterns on Oa were this level, then he could wipe them all out too...
