Chapter 292 - Chapter 291 Trinity of Sin

Dane looked around and realized that the area was very secluded, practically uninhabited.

So he directly asked The Question: "Why are you here? You can't possibly be here for a spring outing, can you?"

Even he had gone through a lot of trouble to find this Base, so if The Question claimed he stumbled upon this Base while strolling, Dane wouldn't believe it for a second.

The Question didn't know how much Shazam knew about him, but he was also a pragmatic person, and Shazam was a righteous figure, so he wouldn't likely be hostile towards him, right?

So he didn't hide anything: "It was Madame Xanadu. I learned from her that the instigator would appear here, so I came to intercept him."

Madame Xanadu? The descendant of the legendary ancients... "Did she also say that I would be here?"

The Question didn't speak. Madame Xanadu truly hadn't mentioned it. He didn't know if she simply hadn't foreseen it or if she had but chose not to tell him.

"You seem to know a lot about that person just now. I'm sure you wouldn't mind coming back to the Hall of Justice with me for a chat, would you?"

The Question really wanted to say he did mind, but facing Shazam's power, he clearly wasn't in a position to say "no."

Dane clapped his hands lightly and instantly teleported them and the massive underground Base to the Justice League outpost in Kahndaq.

He brought The Question to the Hall of Justice not only because he was very interested in The Question, but also because he felt that Madame Xanadu wouldn't make a move without reason.

He knew that this woman had always lived in New York, doing divinations for some people, and in a way, she was helping people solve some supernatural events.

Madame Xanadu had never had any interactions with their Justice League or other superhero organizations before, which was actually a good thing.

Because it proved that in the future Madame Xanadu saw, they could solve all problems without her involvement, regardless of whether those problems were related to magic.

Her prophetic abilities, in some respects, might even be stronger than Doctor Fate's.

Doctor Fate, after all, was two hearts in one body and couldn't fully exert the divine power of the Lord of Order; the future he foresaw always had some deviations from reality.

But the future visions Madame Xanadu foresaw always largely matched reality.

If Madame Xanadu had foreseen that he would appear here and meet The Question, then it proved that she deliberately sent The Question to him.

As for the purpose, he didn't know yet, but understanding this point, he wouldn't let The Question just walk away. This person must be useful, even if not now, then in the future.

And to figure out what use he was, Dane had to keep him somewhere he could see him, otherwise, this guy would slip away in the blink of an eye.

Among all people, The Question was the most difficult character for him to pinpoint, because even Dane, who had seen many comic books from a God's perspective, couldn't figure out his true identity.

The Question himself was searching for the truth; he himself didn't know who he was, so Dane understood even less.

When they arrived at the Justice League, some Justice League members had already returned, while others were in Gotham cleaning up the aftermath.

Barry was here at the moment, and he was startled when he saw Dane bring back a massive structure.

"What is that thing?"

The underground Base built by Savage, when unfolded on the surface, was almost as large as the Hall of Justice. Flash almost became a monkey crushed under this Five-Finger Mountain.

But he was still too young; he didn't know that the things inside this Base were even worse and would overturn his Worldview. If Barry saw those things, it wouldn't be as simple as just being startled.

"So, you intend to lock me up?" The Question was very quiet after arriving at the Justice League outpost; probably no place in the entire World would be safer than here.

But The Question didn't need safety; he needed the truth. He had spent his entire life striving for that truth, so he didn't really want to stay in one place indefinitely.

If Shazam intended to do that, even with his limited abilities, he would find a way to escape this place.

Although Dane didn't use mind-reading, he could roughly guess what The Question was thinking, so he said:

"Your true identity is likely related to the Wizard Council, so I think, instead of running around the World, why not stay here with me? Perhaps you can find the truth you're looking for?

I assume Madame Xanadu also told you the same thing, didn't she?"

The Question pondered, silent. He had sought out Madame Xanadu at the time, certainly not for Savage.

Instead, he had sought Madame Xanadu for information about his own origins and was directed to Savage.

Now he realized that Madame Xanadu had clearly intended to lead him to Shazam, but he didn't quite understand her reason for doing so.

Perhaps, as Shazam said, here with him, he could find the truth of his identity?

"I understand. I will stay here until the day the truth is revealed."

"Very good, don't worry, you're not a criminal. We won't put you in prison. We have plenty of rooms here, just pick one and settle down..."

At this moment, Barry walked over curiously and looked at The Question's face.

"Dude, what material is that mask of yours made of? It looks so much like real skin!"

With such technology, perhaps even disguise masks could be made.

The Question's featureless face seemed to move slightly, and his tone sounded stiff: "This is not a mask."

"What?" Barry suspected he had misheard.

"I said I'm not wearing a mask; this is my face!"

...In another corner of this World, Checkmate's "Black Room" was located.

At this moment, outside the Black Room, a woman draped in a red cloak arrived before it.

Although she was cloaked, her curvaceous figure was still evident.

"Madam, please show your identification!"

The guarding Soldier said this, but he had already raised his gun and aimed it at the woman.

This place was deserted for hundreds of miles; suddenly, such an alluring woman appearing would make anyone suspicious.

The Soldiers here were well-trained special forces; they wouldn't easily be overcome by lust.

However, the woman, facing the guard's warning, seemed to have not heard it at all. Not only did she not stop, but she continued to walk forward, getting closer to the gate.

"Fire!"

The guard realized something was wrong and decisively ordered to open fire.

The moment he gave the command, countless bullets poured out, but eerily, not a single bullet managed to hit the woman in front of them.

They seemed to have eyes, all the bullets spontaneously flew around the woman's body, as if deliberately avoiding her.

The guard was also experienced and knowledgeable. Seeing this situation, he immediately realized he had encountered a supernatural event and quickly spoke into his walkie-talkie.

"This is the gate! Enemy attack! Repeat, enemy attack! The enemy possesses supernatural power..."

He had just finished speaking when a bullet from below took his life, a bullet directly to the forehead.

In front of the gate, the woman raised her hands, pulling out two modified pistols from beneath her cloak.

Bright muzzle flashes erupted from both guns. Each shot represented the passing of a life; her marksmanship was incredibly accurate.

Perhaps even Deadshot, if present, would find it hard to claim he could do better than her.

The woman looked up, revealing a beautiful face from within the red cloak, with several red lines on either side of her cheeks, making it hard to tell if they were birthmarks or tattoos.

After she cleared all the guards at the entrance, she holstered her pistols and pushed her hands towards the gate from a distance.

The gate immediately opened as if struck by a strong wind, but behind it, a squad of heavily armed Soldiers was already waiting.

"Fire!"

The same command, the same hail of bullets, but just like before, not a single one of the flying bullets could get close to the woman's body.

Suddenly, from among the Soldiers, a Rocket-propelled grenade flew out, heading towards the woman.

She looked up, and a strange light seemed to glow in her eyes. An invisible force surged from within her.

The Rocket hit its target and exploded instantly.

The attacking Soldiers took cover to avoid the blast. A moment later, the woman's unharmed body emerged from the explosion.

"Shit! Is she immortal?"

However, this was the last sentence of his life, because immediately after, a bullet from the woman's pistol took his life.

And so, after another period of slaughter, the woman entered the deepest part of the Black Room and took a skull-shaped metal object from the safe inside.

It looked similar to the mechanical skull in "Terminator," but it had three eye sockets: left, right, and forehead. This skull also had a resounding name: pandoras box.

This was the very one that released the seven deadly sins tens of thousands of years ago, and the woman holding it in her hand was Pandora.

Pandora, one of the Trinity of Sin, alongside The Question and Phantom Stranger!
