Chapter 136 - Space Magic

The Tesseract possesses power unimaginable to humans.

During World War II, Red Skull extracted energy from the Tesseract to create energy weapons that did not belong to that era.

In the 1990s, America's Project Pegasus almost created a light-speed engine; although it didn't succeed for various reasons, it eventually led to the emergence of Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers, a powerful super-soldier.

Nick Fury, like those before him, sought to control the Tesseract's power, so he invested heavily in a special project to research it.

Nick Fury recruited many talents, and Professor Erik, a former astronomer, was one of them; he hypothesized Asgard's Bifrost Bridge as a 'wormhole,' a hypothesis that attracted S.H.I.E.L.D.'s investment.

But today, Professor Erik felt something was amiss; the Tesseract seemed to have become too active.

"This is not a normal signal," Professor Erik chose to report this matter.

Soon after, the Agents stationed at this research Base prepared for battle, and some personnel began organizing data.

Everyone here understood what it meant for a massive energy source to suddenly become active; if the situation developed in a bad direction, an unpleasantly beautiful mushroom cloud would appear here.

Professor Erik and a small number of researchers remained on the front lines, protected by several Agents in special combat suits.

"This energy is excessively powerful," a drop of cold sweat ran down Professor Erik's forehead; at the same time, the Tesseract, fixed to the instrument, suddenly burst forth with a brilliant blue light.

Everyone was blinded by the strong light, unable to open their eyes; only the Agents wearing goggles were not significantly affected, and they seemed to see a figure appear at the Tesseract's location; the Agents instinctively raised their firearms and aimed at the person who emerged from the Tesseract.

As the blue light slowly dissipated, Supergiant, holding the Mind Stone, appeared in everyone's sight.

Supergiant's gaze swept around, then she said disdainfully, "Is this your welcoming ceremony?"

The Earthlings didn't understand what Supergiant was saying; the Agents all disengaged their safeties, ready to open fire immediately if this blue-skinned alien resorted to force.

Supergiant could clearly feel the killing intent of these Earthlings growing stronger, "What an impolite bunch of monkeys."

The next moment, a wave of mental energy, released with Supergiant as its core, spread outwards; everyone present felt dizzy and disoriented, ultimately falling unconscious.

After dealing with these threats, Supergiant casually found an Agent, then touched his head with the Mind Stone, beginning to forcibly read this Agent's memory.

Earth, America, S.H.I.E.L.D., Tesseract... a large amount of useful intelligence was obtained by Supergiant, and at the same time, she also learned human language.

"The Planet isn't big, but there are many factions," Supergiant said mockingly; she turned and removed the Tesseract from the instrument.

At this point, Supergiant's mission was half complete, as she had already obtained what Thanos wanted: the Tesseract.

However, Thanos's research machine could only transmit in one direction and couldn't bring Supergiant back, so she had to proceed to the second phase of the mission: gathering resources on this Planet, opening a wormhole, sending their allies, the Chitauri, to Earth, and ultimately cleansing this Planet of life.

The Chitauri would serve as the vanguard, followed by Thanos and his elite forces who would then arrive on Earth.

Their power was sufficient to destroy most Planets in the Universe; by then, Supergiant could present the Tesseract to her father.

"It's good to have a few guides," Supergiant waved the Mind Stone, and several beams of light shot from the core of the scepter, landing on the heads of Professor Erik and others.

The mental power of any individual seemed minuscule before the Mind Stone; even if hundreds more people came, Supergiant could easily control them.

In the blink of an eye, Supergiant had a loyal team.

At the same time, Nick Fury, still on the Helicarrier, also received the message of the Tesseract's anomaly; he had been monitoring the situation from afar.

It wasn't until Supergiant appeared with the Mind Stone and Knock Out a group of Agents and researchers that Nick Fury realized things had gone awry.

"Aliens... let the Avengers try to resolve this first; if it truly fails, then I'll call her."

...

Some time later,

All the Avengers gathered at the Base, and Nick Fury himself was present, explaining the danger of the situation to the Avengers.

"Alright, tell us, what's the urgent matter that made you call us here so suddenly?"

Tony said impatiently to Nick, a pajama visible under his armor; it seemed he was in a bad mood from being woken up.

Nick Fury stood with his hands behind his back, his tone somewhat heavy, "This enemy is very dangerous."

"What kind of enemy would make the S.H.I.E.L.D. Director speak like that?" Eller asked curiously; he was still in his Magnum form.

"Watch the video," Nick Fury waved his hand, and the events occurring at the Tesseract research Base immediately appeared on the large screen.

A blue-skinned alien, a strange scepter, the Tesseract, and brainwashed Agents.

Not Loki? Is that blue-skinned female alien Proxima Midnight? No, that woman is a warrior; the one in the video seems to specialize in psychic abilities; could it be Supergiant?

This one is much harder to deal with than Loki; after all, to deal with Loki, you just need to unleash Thor, and then Eller can just sit back with fried chicken and cola and watch the show.

But if the enemy is Supergiant, then things get much more difficult; she specializes in psychic abilities, and with the Mind Stone... Supergiant is simply the strongest enemy I've encountered so far.

Upon seeing this, everyone's faces showed gravity; Captain America recognized the blue cube, then asked Nick Fury:

"Is that thing the Tesseract?"

"Yes, Captain," Nick Fury said calmly, "It's the one you took from Red Skull."

"Are you using the Tesseract to create weapons?" Captain America's voice carried a hint of anger as he glared at Nick Fury and said:

"S.H.I.E.L.D. doing this is no different from HYDRA!"

"The difference is that S.H.I.E.L.D. is a shield protecting Earth, while HYDRA is a monster that devours human minds," Nick Fury calmly retorted Captain America and brought the conversation back.

"Alright, guys, our alien lady has now obtained the Tesseract, along with a Base full of Agents and researchers; tell me, what are your thoughts?"
