"What victory formula?" Wanda completely didn't understand what Eller was talking about.
"This..."
So, Eller recounted what had happened not long ago.
Hearing that Eller had been severely injured by an alien, Wanda's face showed concern, and her voice became anxious.
"An alien severely injured you? You didn't suffer any major lasting damage, did you?"
"Don't worry, I'm perfectly healthy." With that, Eller patted his chest, proving to Wanda that he was very healthy now.
Actually, Eller himself didn't quite understand how he survived; he only vaguely remembered touching the mind stone on the scepter.
Perhaps the energy from the mind stone he touched at that time entered his body... Eller could only speculate.
But since fate favored him, he would firmly grasp victory in the next confrontation!
"If that enemy can defeat you once, it means she can defeat you a second time, right? Why do you still want to continue fighting?"
Wanda looked at Eller worriedly; she subconsciously took Eller's hand, wanting to remind Eller not to recklessly throw his life away.
Eller felt the warmth of Wanda's hand, and his heart skipped a beat; then he looked into Wanda's eyes and said:
"Because I am human. If I let that bastard do as she pleases, more people will die at their hands. I will absolutely not allow that to happen on Earth."
"..."
Wanda was speechless; she knew she couldn't stop Eller. This man's determination to fight for Earth was beyond her imagination.
A moment later, Wanda let go of his hand, then smiled and encouraged Eller, "Then go fight with confidence. I believe you can win."
"Thank you for your kind words." Eller nodded.
Ding--
The oven in the kitchen let out a crisp sound, and their attention shifted to the oven. They returned to the kitchen, Wanda first opened the oven, then put on oven mitts.
Looking at the perfectly crispy roasted chicken, Eller paused, then asked, "Is today a special holiday?"
"Today is Christmas Eve, and tomorrow is Christmas."
Wanda placed the roasted chicken on the table, and Eller looked over to see that Wanda had already prepared several dishes.
Christmas? Since leaving the orphanage, he hadn't celebrated it with others in a long time.
In previous years, Eller would only receive cards from editors and readers, and the Parker family would send him some exquisite small gifts.
It seemed unlikely he'd receive gifts this year... Thinking of this, Eller walked into the kitchen and started preparing the Christmas Eve dinner with Wanda.
As dusk fell and the temperature dropped, around seven o'clock in the evening, the two finally sat down at the dining table.
The red Christmas candlelight flickered on the table. Eller greatly enjoyed this Christmas Eve dinner with company. Although no precious ingredients were used, Eller felt it was the best Christmas Eve dinner he had ever had.
During the meal, Eller suddenly said, "It's so good to have you, Wanda. Thank you."
"I should be thanking you for taking me out of that viper's nest," Wanda chuckled.
She raised her glass, and the red liquid swayed within, mirroring their mood.
Seeing this, Eller also picked up his glass and gently clinked it against Wanda's, producing a crisp sound.
"I want to spend next Christmas with you too, Wanda." After saying this, Eller drained the red wine in his glass.
Upon hearing this, Wanda immediately sensed something amiss, but she didn't want to ruin Eller's mood, so she reluctantly agreed:
"How about we exchange gifts next year?"
"No problem," Eller replied.
The two talked and ate dinner, and soon, all the dishes on the table were finished.
After the meal, Eller said to Wanda, "I'm going out for a walk by myself."
"Be careful."
Wanda watched Eller leave. After Eller was far away, Wanda returned to her room and took out a diary she had found.
[4.23, Went shopping with Wanda]
[4.25, Wanda showed me a new outfit]
[5.12, Wanda is the best]
...
[12.21, It's so good to have Wanda by my side, she's practically my ■ ■ ■ ■]
Wanda quickly flipped to the last page of the diary, then hugged the diary, softly calling out someone's name.
"Eller..."
At the same time, Agatha was using the darkhold's magic to monitor Wanda's every move.
Under the darkhold's magic, Wanda would overlook some important details, such as why Eller would write a diary, and why he would let her see it.
If it weren't for her concern that the mysterious man might discover something, Agatha would have already thrown a love potion into Eller's water tank; concocting potions was a Witch's forte.
That's right! Just like that! The stronger the love, the better!
Agatha excitedly watched this scene, releasing an even greater surge of magic. Her eyes gleamed with joy.
"You will be my best Christmas gift, Wanda, hahahaha!"
Only when Snow White ate the poisoned apple from the Witch would she realize what a dangerous gift it was.
...
Meanwhile, Eller stood atop a tall building, overlooking New York City.
New York City, with Christmas approaching, was bustling with activity. The entire city was covered in red and green decorations, Christmas trees were everywhere, and everyone's faces were filled with joyful smiles.
Parents led their children out of shopping malls, elders were surrounded by their children, and lovers snuggled together.
Looking at the scenes unfolding in New York City, Eller sighed, "It's truly wonderful."
At this moment, a figure landed behind Eller. It was Peter, who had just finished his Christmas Eve dinner and put on his spider suit to fight criminals.
"Senior? What are you doing here?"
"I came to see the view," Eller said, his back to Peter.
"Senior? Did something happen to you?" Peter was a little worried; he felt Eller had something on his mind. He walked over to Eller's side.
"It's alright, just something that often happens in our line of work," Eller replied vaguely to Peter, then asked in return:
"What about you, Peter, have you encountered any difficulties lately?"
"That's truly annoying," Peter said, taking off his mask and complaining to Eller.
"Yesterday, an evil organization called the Frightful Four appeared. I almost got beaten to death by them. Daniel and his team helped me."
"It seems you have a good team," Eller remarked.
"Not entirely, though. They're all so disobedient, except for White Tiger, who's a bit better. Honestly, I feel our teamwork isn't even as good as the Ghost-Spider, whom I've only met a few times," Peter complained incessantly.
