Chapter 225 - Sending the Decepticons Away

The next day, inside the Autobots' temporary operations Base, Ratchet, Tony, and Banner were trying to figure out the Decepticons' whereabouts to understand their intentions.

Through the research data obtained from Wakanda, the three discovered that Vibranium has excellent energy conductivity. If the Decepticons were to create some kind of mass-destruction weapon, Vibranium would be an ideal material.

"So, the Decepticons want to create a mass-destruction weapon to deal with us?" Banner speculated.

"Probably not." Ratchet shook his head. "In the Decepticons' eyes, you Earthlings are a very useful resource. Megatron wouldn't waste this resource."

This made Banner and Tony's hair stand on end. After all, in the Decepticons' eyes, humans truly were a resource, like coal or oil.

"What if they simplified the current process of converting humans into Super-Energon bodies, requiring only a simple irradiation?" Tony boldly speculated.

This might sound a bit too sci-fi, but for silicon-based lifeforms capable of interstellar travel, it shouldn't be a difficult task.

Ratchet nodded thoughtfully. "That sounds like something the Decepticons would do. Even if it makes the process less efficient, in their eyes, there are billions of humans. Even losing half would still be a sufficient harvest for them."

Banner and Tony exchanged glances, worry filling their eyes. Tony asked Ratchet, "Then how do we counter this harmful machine?"

During their time with Ratchet, Banner and Tony had benefited greatly. They were already top scientists on Earth, and for a long time, no one had been able to teach them.

Ratchet, coming from a more scientifically advanced civilization, could help them solve many problems, so Banner and Tony implicitly regarded him as a teacher.

"We just need to find the location of that machine." Ratchet operated the instruments, attempting to find other places with Vibranium besides Wakanda.

Ratchet quickly found two locations, but these two places, one in the Antarctic and one in the deep sea, were clearly not the Decepticons' style.

So, the three continued their search. Using Wakanda's unique Vibranium localization technology, they finally found a possible Decepticon Base near the Indian Ocean.

"Damn it, that's the second most populated place in the World!" Tony remembered India's massive population.

More importantly, India had no established combat power, and even its army was a mess. Tony, who had previously done arms deals with India, had unique insights into this.

"That should be the Decepticons' target," Ratchet nodded, then began to narrow down the location further.

As the three began to narrow it down further, they found the readings to be somewhat strange, unlike what they had anticipated.

Ratchet looked closely and determined, "It looks like a spatiotemporal fluctuation. Your World is about to experience a spatiotemporal change."

"Spatiotemporal change?" Tony asked curiously.

"It's a kind of spatial overlap phenomenon. I think you can ask someone knowledgeable. Perhaps in your Universe, this phenomenon has other names," Ratchet suggested to the two.

Hearing this, Banner and Tony thought carefully. They were already considered the intellectual backbone of the Avengers, but if anyone truly deserved the title of 'knowledgeable,' it seemed to be…

"Why did you call me?"

Some time later, Thor was called by Tony to the Autobots' temporary Base.

Thor was indeed the person in the Avengers who had theoretically seen the most things. Don't let his honest and simple appearance fool you; he had actually lived for two thousand years.

Tony asked, "We want to ask the great first warrior of Asgard if he knows about the spatial overlap phenomenon?"

"Spatial overlap?" Thor was slightly taken aback. He was a bit unaccustomed to such terminology, but he quickly reacted.

"I feel like I heard my father talk about it before. It's like a premonition of something about to appear. How about this, after we deal with the Iron Giant, I'll go to Asgard and ask for you."

Thor couldn't recall the specifics at the moment, but he didn't want to disappoint his friends, so he said he would return to Asgard to ask after dealing with the Decepticons' matter.

Tony and Banner didn't ask further, because the immediate priority was to stop the Decepticons and prevent the deaths of hundreds of millions of people.

"Can we utilize the spatial overlap?" Tony had a sudden idea and said to the others:

"We can use the Decepticons' device and modify it into a directional emitter, so we can send the Decepticons away."

"We can also leave here," Ratchet said with relief. "With an added locator, we can return to our own Universe."

As if destiny was on their side, Ratchet, Tony, and Banner threw themselves into their work. If they could turn their ideas into reality, they could stop the Decepticons and send the Autobots home at the same time.

...

Some time later, on a small island in the Indian Ocean, the Decepticons had concentrated all their remaining forces.

Megatron gazed at the device, which resembled a large radar, then asked Knock Out:

"How much longer until the machine is ready?"

"The machine can be activated in fifteen minutes at most, My Lord," Knock Out replied.

At this point, Starscream added, "But the energy fluctuations emitted during this period might attract the Autobots and Earthlings."

"It doesn't matter. Once this machine is complete, half of the Earth's population will be converted into Super-Energon bodies," Megatron said indifferently.

In Megatron's eyes, failure of the plan didn't matter. Humans, he could just capture more. After all, there were billions of humans running around on Earth.

When there were less than ten minutes left until the Super-Energon converter was activated, an alarm suddenly blared inside the Decepticon Base. The Autobots and Avengers had attacked.

Red King-Kong Bridge led the charge, and his super-high-energy pulse cannon blasted a gap in the Decepticons' Base defenses, followed by the Autobot squad descending from the sky.

Optimus Prime swung his Star Saber, unleashing a blue energy wave that knocked down nearby Decepticons.

Upon seeing his old rival appear, Megatron had to enter the fray. Wielding his Dark Star Saber, he charged out from deep within the Base and clashed with Optimus Prime, creating a tremendous roar.

The Avengers also surged into the enemy ranks, continuously defeating Decepticon soldiers. Starscream, who had discovered something, was tangled up with Bumblebee. He desperately wanted to reveal what he knew, but Smokescreen suddenly rushed out from who-knows-where and punched him, saying in a playful tone:

"Sorry, Starscream, our friends have more important things to do, so you can't leave here."
