Stephanie's POV
My feet were killing me. We had been at this all morning. The sun was high in the sky, beating down on the car as we drove from one fancy school to another.
"Just one more, mama. I promise," she said, looking out the window, her little face thoughtful.
This was the fifth school today. She's not liked anyone we've been to so far. And the excuses were.....well, flimsy. From the teachers looking too cold to the school smelling like cabbage. Now we've found ourselves in Oakwood academy. This one looked nice. Well, they've all looked nice.
We met the principal, a warm woman named Mrs. Gable with kind eyes. She showed us around herself. The classrooms were sunny and full of books. The children we passed smiled and said hello. In the art room, a little boy showed Jolina his painting proudly.
