After smashing through the Gyabish horde, Yu Zhou returned to the sky.
The more intelligent Gyabish noticed him immediately, all lifting their heads and staring with countless blood-red eyes. A shiver ran down Yu Zhou's spine—this didn't feel good.
"Mirror Barrier!"
Sensing danger, Yu Zhou created a massive barrier beneath his feet, drawing upon the same shielding techniques he had once used in the world of the Ultra Eight Brothers.
The instant the barrier took shape, countless beams from the ground shot up, attempting to knock him from the sky.
"Oh my… the Light Giant—will he be okay?!"
Onlookers gasped at the barrage, imagining the destruction if the beams struck him directly.
Yu Zhou poured a continuous stream of energy into the mirror barrier. The incoming beams reflected off like laser fire, some striking Gyabish lightly, while others exploded them on impact, sending nearby monsters flying.
The battlefield descended into chaos—blinding flashes, dust, and explosions everywhere.
"Now is our chance! Attack!"
Seeing the Gyabish disoriented, the Dais Star forces shouted their orders. For so long they had been on the defensive; now was their opportunity.
"Quick! Get my Dais Cannon ready—blast them to bits!"
"Fire!!!"
The combined forces of Dais Star unleashed a storm of attacks. Both in the air and on the ground, strikes rained down, further disorganizing the already chaotic Gyabish horde.
Explosions erupted with every shot. Monsters were obliterated in droves, the thunder of artillery shaking the battlefield.
Yu Zhou hovered above, shifting into the hybrid form and charging the Zeperion Beam.
"Compress level one!"
He drew back his hands, gathering a concentrated cluster of light particles before him.
"Compress level two!"
Not releasing the energy yet, he intensified the accumulation.
"One more layer!"
The light thickened to an extreme density. With hands forming an L-shape, he unleashed the beam onto the Gyabish below.
The beam expanded mid-flight, striking a vast area.
"Exactly the effect I wanted!"
Yu Zhou rotated carefully, sweeping the energy like a waterfall over the horde. Countless Gyabish exploded under the assault, leaving fire and destruction in their wake.
When the Zeperion Beam ended, only a few hundred of the original tens of thousands remained.
"The Light Giant's power is unfathomable!"
Onlookers marvelled. Even accounting for the Dais soldiers' attacks, Tiga alone had decimated more than they could have hoped for.
"This is amazing—Gyabish will be wiped out!"
Cheers erupted. The monsters that had ravaged their planet for so long were finally facing annihilation.
But before celebrations could take hold, the remaining Gyabish let out wolf-like roars, as if performing some ominous ritual.
"This doesn't look right," Dack muttered, sensing danger.
"What are they doing?" Yu Zhou wondered. But he didn't hesitate—no chances for the enemy.
He charged in, transforming into his powerful form, flames enveloping his body, aiming to obliterate the last of the Gyabish.
However, as he closed in, a multitude of ghostly blue lights converged above the remaining horde.
"What?!"
Yu Zhou's momentum could not be stopped. The blue lights merged with the Gyabish, forming a colossal entity—still Gyabish-shaped, with blood-red fur and glowing crimson eyes.
"They combined?!"
Dack's face paled at the sight of the massive fusion, far larger than Tiga himself. He doubted whether the Light Giant could handle it.
Yu Zhou, aflame, collided with the giant. A massive black hole tore open in its chest.
Unstoppable, Yu Zhou continued, inadvertently entering the creature's interior.
"The Light Giant… was swallowed by the Gyabish?"
Everyone gasped as the hole swallowed him, leaving the monstrous body trembling unnaturally.
Inside, Yu Zhou floated amid countless ghostly blue orbs—souls of the Gyabish.
"So, these are their spirits…"
He clasped his hands, releasing a powerful radiance from his Colour Timer, illuminating the darkness.
The ghostly orbs recoiled and dissipated, unable to withstand the brilliance.
Outside, the colossal Gyabish shuddered, then erupted violently in a blinding explosion of fire and light.
"It exploded?!"
Dack and his colleagues watched in awe. The Light Giant was still inside—had he perished along with the monster?
Dack remained silent, eyes fixed on the flames, searching for any sign of Tiga.
