Chapter 145 - Chapter 145: Journey Through the Cosmos

"The Fusion Dance, Instant Transmission, and those curious magics. As expected, going to Planet Yardrat and Planet Metamor was the right decision—quite the haul." Meruem said this as his space pod lifted off from Yardrat.

Indeed, after leaving Kapo Star, Meruem went straight to Metamor and Yardrat. After months of training, he had packed up all the best things from both worlds. Of course, he meant the techniques.

Though Metamorans don't have high battle power in the universe, their marvelous abilities can still withstand most high-tier warriors out there.

Take the Fusion Dance. It's not as simple as one plus one equals two. Two mediocre fighters, after performing the dance, can become a single, formidable super-warrior. Meruem saw this with his own eyes. Even so, the move has many limitations—like a thirty-minute time limit, and it requires two people whose hearts are in tune and whose power levels are similar to perform the exact same movements to fuse.

Even so, it's a very powerful technique. As for the Yardrats' Instant Transmission, no further introduction is needed. Meruem already had a short-range teleport before.

But now he had learned the super long-distance Instant Transmission that can leap from planet to planet. In theory, as long as your ki is sufficient, you can go anywhere.

Of course, the God Realm where Beerus resides is an exception. For now, it seems only Whis can transport there—there's no other way in.

Besides that, Meruem also learned the Yardrats' unique magic. While not particularly destructive, it's very convenient for daily life.

Lastly, in these few months Meruem tested the battle power of his Chimera Ant forces.

The results were, well, satisfactory. Meruem's own battle power already exceeded the modified scouter's limits. If he forced a test, the scouter would simply explode when reading his peak. He confirmed this at the cost of one scouter.

That also means Meruem's current battle power is at least over one million. Which is to say, on paper, he can at least match Frieza's first transformation "muscle form."

But don't forget: the energy in Meruem's body hasn't fully converted into usable battle power yet. For starters, most of that God Tree fruit remains undigested.

He also has the Ultra Divine Water, a top-tier elixir for potential unlocking and breaking limits. With another round of potential development, Meruem is confident he can double his strength.

Especially in the Dragon Ball world, where, in theory, training can increase battle power without limit.

As for the others, though none can match Frieza himself—not even his base 530,000—they are on par with the Frieza Force's elite Ginyu Squad.

First are Meruem's three Royal Guards. Pouf is currently the weakest, but going all out he has around 80,000.

The strongest is Youpi. With his beastly constitution, his talent is the best of the three. Once he trains and grows, he'll leave the others far behind. Youpi's current battle power is 130,000, nearly double Pouf's. And he clearly hasn't hit his ceiling. Given time—and if he also unlocks his potential with the Ultra Divine Water—it's only a matter of time before he reaches Frieza's base or even first transformation tier.

Last is Meruem's queen, the cat-woman Pitou. Though she went through one rebirth and her body hasn't fully matured, her resources are the best of the three. Come on—she's the King's official consort. Of course the good stuff goes to her first. Her talent is also excellent. Right now her battle power is 90,000—slightly higher than Pouf's, but not by much. Once she fully matures, she should at least rival Youpi.

Next are the Dark Division's Twelve Stars, whom Meruem trusts deeply and who rank just below the three Royal Guards and the Musashi clone. Their average battle power is around 8,000, with a few standouts very close to 10,000. That's their full-power reading; in base they're around 5,000.

While such battle power is fairly common in this universe, the Twelve Stars are still growing. They haven't reached their limit.

And don't think 8,000 is trivial. Back then, the Saiyan elite Nappa only had about 8,000. In the Frieza Force, that's not top-tier, but it's upper-mid.

Beyond these Chimera Ant elites, the former squadron leaders and other elite units sit between 2,000 and 4,000. That's good enough to satisfy Meruem.

There are still a few years before Dragon Ball Z begins. Meruem is confident he can push his army further. Don't forget, this world has many ways to increase battle power. And even if those prove elusive, Meruem holds the Metamorans' fusion secret.

It's only thirty minutes per fusion and hard to learn, but the power payoff is huge. It's an excellent method to mass-produce high-level fighters.

No need to overthink it—if a few squads of Chimera Ants can fuse, the army's overall strength will jump significantly.

How long does a fight really last? Unless the strength is extremely close, most battles wrap in tens of minutes, even just a dozen minutes.

It's not a "Thousand-Day War" between Gold Saints. Thirty minutes is plenty to decide a fight.

As for the Chimera Ant grunts—yes, that's Meruem's sore spot. Though the army counts in the millions…

In truth, over ninety percent are grunts. Their battle power is practically negligible—most are under 100. The occasional gifted one might hit 200. Even the standouts among the chakra-trained grunts only reach 300–400.

Don't be fooled by a 300–400 reading. If they run into Goku with similar numbers, he could beat a whole group of them. That's the difference between mastering ki and not.

It's not entirely their fault. This is a matter of talent. If those grunts could master ki, their battle power could double.

For the record, the elite Chimera Ants have all learned ki, this Dragon Ball–specific art. Otherwise their battle power wouldn't be this high. The Chimera Ants' history is very short, but they already possessed Nen, then acquired chakra seeds from the Naruto world, then yokai genetics from the Nura world, and finally ki from the Dragon Ball world.

Mixing so many boons has brought them to a point where they can at least compare with the Frieza Force.

Of course, a frontal clash offers no hope. Don't let the number of high-end Ant fighters fool you. Even with three Guards stronger than the Ginyu Squad, the Frieza Force has ten-thousands of elites.

And their army dwarfs the Chimera Ants'. Fighting them now would be an egg against a boulder.

But there's still time. Meruem's current goal is to forge his Chimera Ant army into an unstoppable force.

"There are a bit more than two years until Gohan turns four—that's when Raditz heads to Earth, the start of Dragon Ball Z. Time waits for no one. I'm still not strong enough. I don't want to be a background extra in the Frieza arc. So now… next stop: Planet Namek. Target: the Namekian Dragon. I've got a great idea that can make me and my lovely subordinates stronger."

Meruem pressed a switch, and the spherical pod streaked toward a teal-green planet.

"Mm… an evil ki is heading for Namek." On Namek, a massive Namekian atop a great structure seemed to sense something, and opened his aged, clouded eyes.

"Grand Elder, what's wrong?" The speaker was a young Namekian standing guard at his side, one who looked ninety percent like Piccolo—Nail.

A high-tier warrior-type Namekian with a battle power of 63,000.

"Blessing or curse…" The Grand Elder's condition was much better than in the original—at least he wasn't on the verge of dying at any moment.

Perhaps because he hadn't reached the limit of his lifespan yet.

"Grand Elder…" Nail seemed to want to say more, but the Grand Elder's gaze stopped him.

"Nail, prepare to receive our guest. He is a being whose strength far exceeds your own."
