Death had always fascinated him. The end of life, the unraveling of events that led someone there. That obsession was the reason he became a homicide detective in the first place.
He wanted to uncover stories, motives, the why behind the blood. Sometimes he wanted to talk to the killers, to understand them.
Other times, he wanted to kill them himself.
This case had started as fascination. The bodies were different, twisted, methodical, wrong in ways he hadn't seen before. It made him curious. Sick, but curious.
Now it was something else.
Baekhyung was nineteen. Nineteen, and his life was already irreparably destroyed. And for what? Experiments. These bastards were carving out scent glands, stealing organs, stripping people of identity like they were nothing more than spare parts.
Rihan couldn't understand what kind of research justified that. What kind of mind looked at a living person and decided they were disposable.
