By the time Rihan woke up, rain was pouring relentlessly.
It took several long seconds for the ringing in his head to subside before he finally forced his eyes open.
"Fuck," he rasped, shoving himself back against the driver's seat.
That was when it hit him. The cold bite of metal around his wrist.
His jaw clenched as everything that had happened between him and Taeryn came crashing back all at once. Rage flared so violently in his chest it made him lightheaded.
He yanked his hand instinctively, the handcuffs rattling uselessly. "That fucking bastard," he muttered through his teeth.
Rihan dug his phone out of his pocket, only to groan sharply as a spike of pain lanced through his skull. He'd had headaches all day. They were dull, manageable but this was something else entirely. His temples throbbed like they were being crushed from the inside.
Blinking against the pain, he checked the time.
His eyes widened. "What the hell…?"
Three hours. Three fucking hours had passed.
