"Ryuuto, you handled yourself really well just now, but you've got to watch your back. Never take unnecessary risks! I was so worried!"
Arlo's eyes were filled with genuine concern as he addressed Ryuuto.
"I got it!" Ryuuto nodded with a grin, his confidence radiating. "Before I fight those guys, I know I won't fall for any tricks!"
"Good, then I can relax," Arlo said with relief.
"Captain, are you heading back to headquarters with us? I need to report the situation to Charles."
"I'll handle my own route. You guys go ahead," Ryuuto said, raising a hand to part ways with Arlo and Scott before turning toward Osborn.
At that moment, Gwen was finishing her shift, and naturally, Ryuuto moved to pick up the dazzling redhead.
"Hey, Gwen! Finished work yet? How's your day?"
"Yeah! Everything went smoothly. Honestly, I think I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be."
As Gwen walked out of the revolving doors of Osborn Corp, her phone buzzed with Ryuuto's call. Her tired face lit up into a smile, making her look even more radiant.
"Ryuuto, where are you? Still on mission?"
"Haha, look behind you!" Ryuuto's voice rang playfully over the line.
Gwen turned—and froze. Ten meters away, Ryuuto stood with his phone in hand, arms wide, striding toward her with that infuriatingly confident grin.
Throwing herself into his arms, Gwen couldn't hide her joy. "You've been working so hard all day. I'm here to make sure you're not wronged!"
"Hah! I trust you," she said, clutching him tightly as they began their romantic walk down the street. Passersby couldn't help but notice the couple's chemistry.
But just then, chaos erupted in the usually orderly streets.
"Robbery!"
From a distance, an alarm blared from a jewelry store. Masked men were hauling bulging bags of gold and jewelry. And at the head of the chaos stood a strangely dressed, surprisingly small man—Jett Storm.
"Stop them! Don't let them escape!" Gwen yelled.
"Amateurs! You dare mess with my territory?" Jett Storm sneered at the dozens of security guards surrounding him. Not a trace of worry crossed his face—only arrogance.
With a flick, his elemental guns sparked, sending out bolts of electricity that sent guards flying, hair standing on end. None dared approach him.
"Boss, you're amazing!" one of the robbers cheered.
Jett Storm laughed, a thrill running through him. "Thought you could outrun me? Let's see how far that pride gets you!"
Gwen clenched her fists, instantly suiting up. "We can't let them get away!"
"Patience," Ryuuto said with a smirk. "Let them run to a remote spot. Then we clean up—no collateral chaos."
In an instant, Ryuuto and Gwen shot off at top speed, vanishing in a blur.
The robbers, ecstatic in a back alley, cheered, thinking victory was theirs.
"Hold it! Don't move!"
Jett Storm's expression darkened. He signaled his men to quiet down. "You don't tail me without my say-so," he snapped. Two elemental guns sparked again as lightning crackled, his shots precise but…
…then, a mocking voice cut through the tension.
"You think you're slick? Not so fast!"
Above them, Ryuuto and Gwen hovered, ensnared in a massive, shimmering spider web. Jett Storm froze, realizing the situation had flipped in an instant.
