Chapter 573 - Strategy

The guild hall did not return to its previous noise. Even with many voices being heard, everything felt controlled, directed. It was not a normal conversation. It was construction.

Maps began to be distributed among the groups closest to the platform. Large sheets with precise markings, symbols indicating enemy movements, defense points, and vulnerable regions. Nothing there seemed improvised.

"So they've been monitoring this for a while," Elara commented, observing one of the maps that had been passed to us.

"Yes," I replied. "They were just waiting for the right moment to gather everyone."

Liriel leaned slightly forward, analyzing the details.

"These markings aren't random," she said. "There's a pattern."

Scarlett agreed.

"Advance lines."

Rai'kanna added.

"And pressure points."

Lyannis crossed her arms, looking more attentively than usual.

"They're not attacking on impulse."

"No," I replied. "This is planning."

On the platform, one of the strategists began speaking again, pointing to one of the larger maps visible to everyone.

"Enemy forces are moving in three main directions."

He marked the points precisely.

"North, elven borders. Northeast, demi-dragon territory. And peripheral regions of the human kingdom."

The overall picture became clear.

"That creates an indirect encirclement," Elara said.

"Yes," Liriel replied. "They're not attacking the center… yet."

Scarlett kept her gaze fixed.

"And when they do, it will be with everything."

Rai'kanna didn't take her eyes off the map.

"This is field preparation."

On the platform, another representative took over the explanation.

"Our immediate objective is not to advance."

Some murmurs arose, but quickly faded.

"It is to contain."

The word echoed clearly.

"Contain the advance, stabilize the attacked regions, and prevent the enemy from consolidating territory."

Lyannis tilted her head.

"Defensive."

"For now," I replied.

"That buys time," Elara said.

"Time to organize the counterattack," Liriel completed.

Scarlett nodded.

"And to better understand the enemy."

Rai'kanna spoke next.

"And to strengthen alliances."

On the platform, that idea was confirmed.

"All forces present here today will operate under a single command structure."

The hall became even more attentive.

"Total alliance."

It wasn't just cooperation.

It was integration.

"That changes everything," Elara said.

"Yes," I replied.

Lyannis gave a slight smile.

"Either this works very well… or very badly."

"Depends on who's leading," Liriel said.

Scarlett looked ahead without commenting.

Rai'kanna remained silent.

The instructions began to become more specific.

Division of areas.

Assignment of groups.

Responsibilities.

Each region would receive mixed reinforcements, combining human, elven, and demi-dragon forces whenever possible.

"That avoids isolated weaknesses," Elara commented.

"And increases adaptability in combat," Liriel said.

"It also reduces internal conflicts," Scarlett added.

Lyannis shrugged.

"Or creates new ones."

Rai'kanna responded directly.

"If they don't try, they lose."

Lyannis didn't disagree.

On the platform, a new map was opened. This time, more detailed.

Patrol routes.

Communication lines.

Fallback points.

"Full organization," I murmured.

Scarlett looked at me.

"You're already analyzing how to act, aren't you?"

"Yes."

"Of course you are," Lyannis said.

I ignored the comment and kept observing.

Everything made sense.

It was efficient.

But it also revealed something important.

"The enemy wants this," I said.

The group looked at me.

"What?" Elara asked.

"For us to spread out."

Liriel frowned slightly.

"Explain."

"They attack multiple points… force division."

Scarlett nodded slowly.

"And then exploit weaknesses."

Rai'kanna added.

"Or force exhaustion."

Lyannis smiled faintly.

"So it's a game of patience."

"Yes," I replied.

On the platform, as if confirming the analysis, one of the leaders spoke again.

"We must not react impulsively."

The tone was firm.

"Movements must be coordinated. No team should act alone in high-risk regions."

Liriel nodded.

"Control."

"Necessary," Elara said.

Scarlett kept her gaze attentive.

"And dangerous if it fails."

Rai'kanna crossed her arms.

"But better than chaos."

The plan continued to be presented.

Elite groups would be responsible for critical points.

High-rank adventurers would receive command positions in the field.

Constant communication between regions.

Nothing left to chance.

The hall absorbed everything.

Without resistance.

Without unnecessary questioning.

It was the kind of situation where everyone understood there was no room for ego.

"This is rare," Lyannis commented.

"Yes," I replied.

"A lot of people agreeing."

"Because they know what's at stake," Scarlett said.

Time passed without us noticing.

The meeting progressed.

Detail by detail.

Strategy by strategy.

And little by little…

Everything began to fit together.

It wasn't just defense.

It wasn't just containment.

It was preparation for something greater.

Something inevitable.

I looked once more at the central map.

The lines.

The points.

The routes.

Everything converged to a simple fact.

This wasn't going to stop there.

I took a deep breath.

"This is just the beginning," I said.

Rai'kanna replied without hesitation.

"Yes."

Scarlett kept her gaze firm.

"And the next step…"

Elara completed.

"Will be worse."

Liriel didn't look away.

"But we'll be ready."

Lyannis gave a slight smile.

"I hope so."

The hall remained steady.

The strategy was defined.

The alliance formed.

And, for the first time…

Everyone was aligned.

Prepared not just to react.

But to face.

Whatever came next.
