Lilian's eyes fluttered open slowly, her body still heavy with exhaustion from the previous night's activity.
The first thing she saw was Cassandra's face hovering above hers.
Ocean-blue eyes stared down at her with such intensity- such undisguised adoration- that Lilian felt momentarily overwhelmed.
She forced herself to stay calm, to keep her expression neutral even as her heart rate spiked and her still sensitive core twitched.
"Good morning, my Rose," Cassandra murmured, her voice soft and warm.
Lilian blinked up at her, her mind still foggy.
"Morning," she managed, her voice coming out raspier than she intended.
A sweet smile graced Cassandra's beautiful morning face- that same smitten, boyish smile that made her look so different from the cold, calculating CEO everyone else saw.
"What would you like for breakfast?" Cassandra asked gently, brushing a strand of hair away from Lilian's face. "It's Sunday morning. I can have anything you want prepared."
