It was early noon when Lilian arrived at Morgana's penthouse. Her eyes blinking every now and then could expose how she was feeling a mix of nervousness and anticipation.
She had dressed up for the occasion, wearing one of the nicer dresses she had taken along to Ellen's house---a deep burgundy number that was elegant without being too formal.
With that, Lilian hoped she had managed to be effortlessly chic and she did but she wasn't sure.
The elevator doors opened directly into the penthouse, and Lilian stepped out, expecting to be greeted by music, laughter, the buzz of conversation.
Instead, she found... silence.
And one person.
A tall, undeniably attractive man stood in the spacious living room, dressed impeccably in a dark suit. He looked up as Lilian entered, his expression polite but reserved.
"Good evening. You must be Rose Bennett. Miss Morgana is expecting you." he said with a slight bow.
