This year's arts festival was held at the Grand Academy adjacent to the Moon Goddess's Temple. Hundreds of guests from all over the city gathered in one place to admire the talents of the young shifters and select the winners who would not only receive nationwide recognition but a noticeable upgrade in their standing as well.
I walked leisurely around the area, watching as the staff made last-minute preparations and final adjustments to the showcasing stage.
This was my stage. This was the place for me to shine like a diamond in a spotlight.
Arielle stole my place, but I will make sure to take it back. I always do.
I flinched as a familiar figure blurred past my vision, and my lips curled into a smile on their own.
"Pauline!" I waved enthusiastically as I saw my friend enter the presentation area.
