Chapter 6 - 2 Tap Rule

"Get off my daughter what are you! Ah get it off Ahhhh."

The park filled with screams and the people ran when they noticed the vast number of the undead running to the living. I waited and watched the mother body come back to life not from shock but to count the time for how long it took to change, a minute at best.

"Ordis suggest's you run."

Using the teleport I dashed in sort burst using my darkness vision to see the movement of the living and undead as to not instigate further wrath. I made it to the top of the building where I could scout out the best route to take.

The plague was still under control from what I could see. Surprisingly the police mounted a barrier of sorts with cars while holding the line with their weapons. Everything seemed balanced at first and I even wanted to go down to help when a door opened behind me.

The door to the roof burst opened with a singular zombie with the absolute determination to infect. He was an out of same middle age man but the virus or disease, whatever it is push him to the furthest human limit.

Instantly I shot him destroying his right arm completely putting him down. He laid there and I went to inspect him closer.

"His skin his a dark gray, don't bodies take a while for them to reach this level Ordis?"

Before he could answer a tentacle shot forth replacing his arm, "what the fuck!"

He sprang up from the dead and I unloaded the entire magazine in him, "Ordis believes there's nothing left to erase operator."

There was nothing left resembling a human and I heard screams louder than before from the streets below. Looking over the edge of the roof I saw how certain undead mutated when shot and how they quickly overwhelmed the police.

"You think they'll nuke the city?"

"No the government would never put their people in harm's way protect the masses, nuke them."

Shit I jinxed it, sirens where heard throughout the city, the ones you relate to bombs in the movies.

"Ordis, suggestions?"

"If its a bombing run I'm sure the operator can survive. However the news channels I've connected to say the government will use everything at their disposal. We're doomed."

There's no way I can teleport out of nukes radius, "can't you give me a power? Anything? Come on its your skin on the line too!"

"Calculating... Solution found. Operator I can use the same logic and principles that brought you here. Payment, there's a price though, its a random place."

"Anything is ten times better."

"Oh trust me it isn't, I mean how can you know, accept or die with honor coward. What do you wish to do then operator."

Trust in the devil you know or the one you don't know? What to choose, "duh the choice where I get a better chance to live."

"Perfect, universal glitch activated."

I felt my insides turning inside out while moving around my entire body until I stood in a very different place.

It was the same roof but everything else laid in ruins. The sky was black from pollution or smoke. I couldn't hear a sound of life around.

"Where did you take me?"

"I don't know, liar.

That's when I heard a voice in my head, "identify yourself mutant child. Your thoughts are hard to read."

"Ordis your falling apart on me."

"Ordis was quiet, this is a foreign entity."

"Child, be not afraid. I, we simply wish to help. It's far too dangerous to remain where you are."

"No that's definitely not you Ordis, your an asshole with good intentions."

"What does that mean, he's rambling again."

A map or rather a route flooded into my mind, "go to the destination. I promise there, a mutant will help you. I must place my mind elsewhere, there is much that keeps my mind occupied."

I felt a link break in my head. The description or look of the destination seemed the same as mine, ruins.

"Move it donkey, we should go. They can have answers and better equipment to surrender here, or mug you."

I sighed put knew there was nothing better and started a series of teleports to the place. When I felt it close, I stopped over a rig of collapsed buildings. I wanted to scout the area first. Using my dark vision I saw the outline of woman hiding behind a slab of stone.

"Let's jump her, I mean get the jump on her just in case she's a threat."

I nodded in agreement and moved silently behind her. With my skills she didn't hear me until I held my shotgun to her rear.

"Who are you." She was wearing a green and yellow one piece I believe with a brown jacket. When she turned I could see a black bandana on her forehead. What drew my attention was the white strands of hair in her redhead.

"Whoa there cowboy, no need to escalate things. Sugah let's take a moment to talk alright, names Rogue."

"Rogue?"

"A cover name sugah. Now that fine weaponry you got there I reckon won't kill me but will get us both killed. Why don't ya lower it a bit."

"How would that get both us killed I got the gun."

She stared me up and down confused, "don't ya know we in red zone you goof ball. Are ye mad or what?"

I lowered my shotgun, "red zone?"

Rogue with inhuman speed yanked the gun out my hand tossing it to the floor while pining me to the ground with her gloves.

"Stay down if you know what's good for ya sugah."

I teleported out of her grasped and tried to grab my gun but she flew at me, "what was that hun."

This time I instinctively reacted and tried to choke her out with my bare hands to no avail.

Rogue stared at me in amazement, "what the hell are you made out of lady. Your fucken strong."

"You can touch me?"

I looked at her confused, "no shit, get your hands off me if you want me to stop."

There was a moment of doubt in her eyes and I decided to take advantage. I pulled my gun towards me with my power but Rogue knocked me out before I had the chance.

My mind went blank and when I came to I was in cold room. I could hear laughter from children and adults alike. Outside the room I saw a tunnel like hallway with all various kinds of people.

"I'm on shrooms theirs a blue hairy man giving piggy bag rides to kids with spikes or red skin... Where am I?"

"Ah your finally awake our surprise guest."

It's the voice again. A route to an office of shorts appeared in my head, "please join us, we have many questions as I'm sure you have."

Hearing voices and seeing green Martian men around me I followed the route noting all the strange people I walked past. Some where normal but had powers like ice.

I arrived at the room and before I could knock it opened. An older man opened it with a leather jacket and a cigar surpisingly.

"Our guest is hear, please come in."

I entered feeling the rooms eyes on me. At the desk a bald man in a chair remained with a man with a similar age stood next to him. I couldn't decide whether their age made them look tired or wise. Their were just three others. A man with a red tinted visor, a redhead next to him and beautiful black lady who supervised my movements.

"What do you wish for mister...do you mind sharing your name."

"Normally my answer is money but it seems there is no longer a place for them . And names Norman, you wouldn't be Charles Xavier perchance?"

He studied me, "indeed I am. The man next to me is Erik. The lovely couple here are Scott and Jean. That their is Logan. And finally Storm. We have a few questions."

"Where did you come from." Said Erik with a serious tone. It didn't take a genius to know this was an interrogation.

"No idea, I mean it's kinda hard to tell what streets I walk by."

"We have another comedian, I don't buy a single word. I bet he's a traitor-"

"Scott! Please don't point fingers so openly."

"Ahem." Intervened Charles, "Given the state of things as I'm sure your aware we have grown to doubt the few mutants who come from off the grid. Norman did you come seeking asylum in Krakoa?"

I have no idea what that is. I've only watched the movies and it's been far too long since I watched the X-men ones. "Ya, hoping to gain something from this interaction if possible."

Charles began tapping with his finger on the desk infront of him. He was thinking, analyzing me. Not sure why they think I could be a threat but it must be terrible seeing the world right now.

"Your choice Erik."

Erik, or rather Magneto watched me intently. "You need to prove your place among us. To show up after the worst of the fighting makes me think you've betrayed your fellow mutant. Leave with whatever freedom you have or work on the front line, choose."

I sincerely doubt Magneto of all people would let me go and I rather someone on my side if I face whatever is out there. "Work, work is just fine."

"It's decided then..."

A few seconds passed when a rip in the fabric of space tore open next to me. Out came a blonde girl in dark armour, a bit smaller than me as I'm 5'8. She didn't look at all too friendly nor bothered by this meeting.

"You called professor."

"Yes, Illyana. This here is your new partner. I trust you'll watch over him." I bet he meant to watch for any signs of betrayal.

Illyana didn't express any kind of emotion at the news. "I'll show him our room then. Tell me before hand our first mission."

She left and I followed behind her. Just by walking a bit I noticed how the mutants were weary about her more then me. I rather not know with the massive sword near her.

-----

"Charles, you can't just let the boy go free around the base with..." Scott sighed, "Illyana still isn't trustworthy with her known past and Norman doesn't have one. And don't give that a shit that we'll watch over him. He evaded cerebro for, who knows how many years. I'm telling you, the sentinels sent him here."

"Which is why we must study him, figure out their plan. Remember we have a duty to all mutants and I wish to know more about our new company."
