Evelyn dropped her bag on the table and walked over to Selene, passing her breakfast.
Selene scoffed, muttering under her breath.
"I already had breakfast."
But she still took the paper bag from Evelyn and pulled out the contents to eat.
Evelyn sat beside her with a hand on her cheek.
"Don't you have anything to ask me?"
Selene looked at her.
"If I asked would you tell me?"
Evelyn tapped her chin twice, pretending to think seriously about it then answered.
"No"
Selene rolled her eyes and stopped paying attention to her. Evelyn couldn't help but laugh softly and gently pulled on Selene's arm.
"I got caught up with someone last night and didn't sleep on time."
Selene finished eating and disposed of the bag.
"I know, I'm not angry. You have work to do."
Her voice was casual, but her gaze softened slightly when she glanced at Evelyn.
Evelyn smiled faintly.
"Still, I should've texted. I didn't mean to keep you waiting."
