Adam watched as Morning and some of the other guys rushed out of the dormitory. He gets on his walkie-talkie and starts telling all the other demon hunters to leave as well.
"We got what we needed. Time to move out!" He said. But as he turns around, he sees Ethan being thrown out of his room. He watches as two demon hunters come out and stand over him. One kicks Ethan right in the head, and the two boys laugh and slap hands as they do.
"Hey! What are you guys doing? Leave that loser alone and get out of here!"
"Screw this guy!" The second boy, Max, said, stomping into Ethan's head. "He slept with my now Ex-girlfriend! I've been meaning to take it to this pretty boy wastoid for a while now, and here's my chance!"
"That's what you get for messing with these witches!" Adam shouted at him. "Leave Satan's children to their own kind and stick to the mission!"
"C'mon, Adam! We know you wanted to get back at this creep for what he did to you on the tennis courts!" The other kid, Red, laughed as he held Ethan up in a chokehold. "You got your revenge, now let us get ours!"
Adam exhaled hard. This wasn't good. Ethan was tough, and Adam knew that. He was, in fact, the toughest guy Adam had ever seen, even in the paramilitary demon-hunting group Ethan could kick ass. Fighting him was actually fun, which is why Adaam did it so often. But Ethan looked done for right now, and he couldn't catch a murder charge. And knowing Max had a vendetta against the blonde for his stupid ex-girlfriend meant they could go down for premeditated murder. The fact that they were all underage didn't guarantee they wouldn't do prison time anymore. He had to find a way to stop this now.
The problem was that he could tell by the smiles and the wild looks in the boy's eyes that they had a bloodlust in them. They weren't in their right minds, and reasoning with them would be difficult. Adam had to do something quick.
He looked around. The Boys' side of the seaward dormitory was littered with fallen warlocks and the few witches who came out of their side to try to help them. He saw where Koi Nikumu had landed; he was slumped against a wall, breathing hard. Blood trickling out of the side of his lips. His eyes were wide and crazed, he stared at nothing in the darkened hallway as if he was about to lose it.
"Hey..." Adam began. "If you're gonna rough up that witch anymore, take him outside. If he dies right here, they'll find him immediately, and we're in serious trouble. See if you can drag him to our side of the island. This shit stain hardly goes to class, no one will miss him if they don't see him anymore, and on our side of the campus, we can hide him...you know, just in case."
The duo looked at him, and wicked smiles grew across their faces. Each one grabbed one of Ethan's legs and started dragging him down the hall towards the exit. Ethan's limp, comatose body left a blood trail as he was dragged out. He looked so horrific that even Adam felt bad for him... almost.
Emotions were for women and the weak. He turned on his heels and started following his demon-hunting brothers out. In any case, if Ethan died, it would be one less asshole on campus to deal with. And he remembered that he was a Kirage. The Kirages were extremely wealthy Billionaires. Who knew how many murdered bodies had been swept under the rug in his bloodline. But you couldn't find any one of them who ever spent a night in prison for anything.
"Hey there, dumb dumb!" He said, leaning over to Koi.
Koi, dizzy with pain, looks up weakly at Adam. The smile on Adams' face sent a shiver down Koi's spine. Adam grabs him by the hair and wraps his fist around it,lifting Koi up.
"We should take this one too," Adam shouted to the other two boys. "This is the one that had the spell book we were after. Diaz might be extra happy if we rough this one up good. Happy enough that he'll overlook whatever happens to the blonde."
Max and Red nodded, approving of this plan. They continued, slamming their backs into the heavy metal door of the seaward dormitory, dragging their victim out. Adam followed, walking out with a struggling Koi.
Outside, Max and Red rolled Ethan's body down the 4 stairs that led up to the dorms. He left blood stains all over the white concrete steps.
Adam shoved Koi, and he fell down the stairs, landing next to Ethan in a heap. He had more life in him than Ethan did as he fought to stand on his feet, but Max and Red wouldn't give him a chance. They immediately punched Koi in the stomach and head, knocking him back down to the cold ground.
With a hard sigh, Adam took a seat on one of the steps. It was a nice night, not chilly, not to hot. Just a sweet fall night. He sat and watched as Max and Red started beating on Koi. Ethan, quite possibly dead, was no fun to play with anymore. The bloodlust still in them, they wanted to catch another body. So they want to play with the still lively one.
Adam tried to relax. Whatever would happen, would happen. He pulled his emotions out of it and just watched. May the strongest team win.
