Chapter 36 - Chapter 36 Border

After that day, Hui'er's training began in earnest.

"No, your left foot's movement serves no purpose. Your waist's power transfer isn't forceful enough."

Bai Fanxian spoke while watching Hui'er spar with Uncle Huang.

Since this was training, Uncle Huang didn't use his true qi and was extremely careful not to unnecessarily injure the little girl.

As for Bai Fanxian, she was leisurely reclining on a beach chair. Beside her was hot tea that Huang Zihan had prepared and served. Though the young woman's eyes appeared to be reading a book, her mouth was able to continuously offer guidance.

"That Tang Clan Fist Style is a good foundation. You can study the principles of power and weight transfer from it. If you understand it completely, you'll probably nearly achieve the first stage of the Supreme Arts."

Bai Fanxian continued speaking. Uncle Huang was utterly shocked. He had heard yesterday that the Supreme Fist Arts had three stages, but if just the first stage already surpassed the Tang Clan Fist Style, he didn't want to imagine the final stage at all.

Because even though he had trained to this age, he still didn't consider himself to have mastered the Tang Clan Fist Style!

Even Tang Tianjie hadn't perfected it.

He looked at the little girl with pitying eyes for a moment. This child's path would surely be far more arduous than that of ordinary cultivators.

But when his eyes met Tang Yeye's, Uncle Huang changed his mind.

Her gaze was filled with determination. The fierce spark in her eyes that refused to surrender or yield made him feel it would be extremely discourteous to pity someone like her.

This child didn't want anyone's pity!

She would seize everything with her own two hands and walk forward on her own legs without question.

Uncle Huang sighed with admiration. But at that very moment, his palm that extended to receive Hui'er's small fist suddenly felt heavy weight. Though he hadn't circulated his qi, his well-trained body actually swayed backward!

Uncle Huang stared at the little girl in astonishment.

Hui'er herself looked at her own fist with equal surprise.

Just now, she had been pondering the young lady's words in her head. She tried to sense her own body as much as possible. And at the instant she released that punch, she suddenly felt the ultimate smoothness of movement. Her power flowed from the earth, entered through her legs, and transferred all the way to her fist tip.

Bai Fanxian, who was reclining, immediately revealed a faint smile.

It was exactly as she thought.

This child had exceptional talent for forms and movements!

If not for her deficiency with qi power, she was confident that in just twenty years—she only needed that much time—she could give birth to a second "One Fist Above Gods" in this world.

"Alright, that's enough for today."

Bai Fanxian suddenly stood up. Hui'er, who had just begun to feel she was starting to understand something, immediately felt regret. She still wanted to train a while longer, but because it was the young lady's words, she couldn't be stubborn.

"This afternoon I will begin creating something. Go fetch Yeye, and we'll start."

Uncle Huang and Hui'er turned to look at each other in confusion. Their lady, after finishing giving orders, walked away without turning to look at them even once.

Naturally, both quickly complied. Hui'er didn't run far before dragging back Tang Yeye, whose face was full of curiosity. Bai Fanxian was now standing in the middle of the lawn in front of the house. Her Heaven Sense spread out around her. Earlier, she had already inquired with Huang Zihan about where the boundaries of this property extended. When her Heaven Sense reached those areas, she stopped.

Now she stood at precisely the center of this territory.

All three of her followers rushed over to watch with interest. Especially when she released tremendous qi from her body, Huang Zihan couldn't help but tremble slightly.

Sometimes he wondered if perhaps Lady Bai Fanxian's cultivation power might already exceed the Grandmaster level.

"This house lacks privacy entirely..."

Bai Fanxian grumbled with slight irritation in her heart.

Ever since she had come to live in this house, she felt far too many people came to trouble her far too often.

Those with good intentions were fine, but if they came with ill intent like the Han Clan, she found it rather bothersome to personally come out and receive them every time.

And it still posed risks to the children of being ambushed.

Though she could sense things constantly, there were times she was in meditation or when she was concocting elixirs. She naturally couldn't always break away to help her people.

In that case, she needed something to buy time until these children could protect themselves.

Something she called a "border."

In ancient times, no matter what sect or palace, the more important a location, the more certainly it had a "border" installed.

A border would function to prevent anything the border's owner didn't permit from entering the border's territory.

It could also defend against attacks from outside, depending on the border's strength.

If this house had a border set up, Bai Fanxian would be at ease whether she was secluding herself or going out for a walk. Her people in this house, as long as they weren't attacked by exceptionally powerful beings, would be safe.

Bai Fanxian flicked her hand, producing something from her dimensional storage. Uncle Huang, seeing this for the first time, was naturally stunned for a while, but after being with Master Bai for so long, he had begun to grow accustomed to strange things like this.

When he saw her take out many pieces of strange-looking materials, he felt even more shaken, because the level of those materials seemed to be at minimum Tier 5!

The old man, who wasn't far away, could clearly sense the power and pressure emanating from those materials. It was pressure that could easily make a Martial Master-level being like himself tremble!

He was certain that even Grandmaster-level beings, if they came to see the treasures before them, would absolutely have gleaming eyes!

Bai Fanxian paid no mind. These materials had been moldering at the bottom of her storage for ages. Now that it was time to bring them out for use like this, she naturally felt no regret.

The border she would create was a Tier 5 border—a border capable of withstanding attacks from beings in the "Sage" class, which was one level above Grandmaster.

In this current era, she had never encountered anyone who had achieved the Sage stage. Only the person in full dress uniform on the day she awoke had the highest power level she'd ever encountered.

She vaguely recalled people calling him "Marshal."

But even he was only a 9th-stage Grandmaster.

Therefore, she could be confident it would provide this house with security in times when she wasn't present.

Bai Fanxian swept her hand. Instantly, with her as the focal point, purple glowing lines began appearing on the ground. They gradually formed and spread outward until they consumed the entire house's area. Strange symbols that Uncle Huang didn't recognize were drawn one after another. They linked together in circles that emanated awe-inspiring pressure. Uncle Huang, watching the scene before him with nervous sweat, immediately realized that before long, General Liu Yianfei would surely come rushing here again.

Couldn't his lady play it a little less big!?

The instant the border began forming into a circle, Bai Fanxian tossed dozens of Tier 5 miraculous materials around the perimeter.

They floated suspended in the air. When they touched the forming border, those materials gradually disintegrated into dust particles. All their power was transferred completely into this border.

The border's power now seemed like wild horses. Once it received power from those miraculous treasures, it became even more violent. Purple light like giant pillars shot up into the sky, visible from a great distance.

At the Black Hawk Command Base, Liu Yianfei was staring slack-jawed at the massive purple light beam that had suddenly appeared. The more he looked, the more he felt the direction it occurred seemed inexplicably familiar.

Cultivators within a ten-kilometer radius of the border all sensed the tremendous wave of power sweeping past, causing them to turn and look.

At the seaside appeared strange light that made their eyes gleam, because the chance that it was a "miraculous treasure" was so high they began moving.

Inside the border, Bai Fanxian looked at what had occurred with satisfaction. Though it was merely a Tier 5 border, this much was sufficient. Moreover, she had used her own qi as the border's medium, making this border's power seem somewhat higher than it should be.

The two little girls watched what occurred with sparkling eyes, because the purple aura and its atmosphere made them feel as if it was magic. Especially these strange characters flowing across the ground while emitting light—they were extraordinarily fascinating.

Bai Fanxian swept her hand again. A cluster of purple aura swirled around all three of her people. They were all initially startled, but once they felt it did no harm, the border's power merely circulated once around their bodies before dispersing.

"From now on, only you may enter this border. Those without permission will have no way to step even one pace into this house."

Uncle Huang, hearing this, had a somewhat awkward expression.

"Uh... Master Bai, what if Clan Head Tang comes to visit?" He had to ask beforehand, because if people from the Tang Clan suddenly came visiting and couldn't enter the house, it would surely look rather bizarre.

Hearing this, Bai Fanxian pondered. She then pointed a slender finger toward Huang Zihan. The purple border responded. Some characters began swirling and then imprinted onto the old man's wrist.

"I grant you secondary authority over the border. Those you permit may pass through."

Having finished speaking, Bai Fanxian turned with a lazy twist. Having a border like this might allow her to rest or focus her attention on reading more conveniently.

"Oh, and if anyone comes causing trouble, just leave them be. I'm going to rest a bit. If they don't listen, simply give the command—the border will bounce them away on its own..."

When she finished speaking, her figure vanished immediately, leaving only Uncle Huang, who could vaguely sense the chaos about to occur. Because his lady had played it this big—more intense even than when she cured Tang Yeye—before long, many people would surely gather at this house without question!

"Butler Huang! What's happening!?"

Liu Yianfei, who had flown from the military base, hurriedly asked the old butler. He looked at what seemed like walls all around with shock, because when he approached, he realized he couldn't pass through it!

Huang Zihan could only heave a great sigh, then offer only a dry smile in response.

Here was one already!
