Chapter 106: More Reaction

The wizarding world was in uproar. For the first time since the end of the last war, whispers of fear spread faster than fire in dry hay.

It began with an article from the Daily Prophet.

"You-Know-Who Returns: Five Dead in Ministry Attack."

The front page shows the body of the people who are dead being killed in the Ministry, captured by a trembling photographer.

Beneath it were the names of the dead, and two of them sent shockwaves through the wizarding community, Corban Yaxley and Augustus Rookwood.

Though they have died but the ministry didn't even try to hide that both of them are a death eater. Report stated that Voldemort angry because they didn't help them when You Know Who need helps.

In the Ministry of Magic, chaos reigned. The Auror Department was flooded with letters, reports and frightened visitors demanding answers.

Inside her office, Madam Amelia Bones rubbed her temples as she read yet another report. "So it's true… both of them had the Dark Mark?"

"Yes, ma'am," replied a tired Auror. "5 people who are being killed have a dark mark and those who are alive didn't have mark on their arm, Department of Magical Law Enforcement have confirmed and It's not fake."

Amelia frowned deeply. "Five people dead in one day, the Dark Mark on their arm and a stolen Prophecy Orb… I really wanted to resign."

Thankfully people on her side are still alive, although they are heavily wounded after You Know Who attack.

For example Tonks were still in St. Mungo, being treated after getting strayed spells. Several other Aurors sat slumped in exhaustion too, they are still processing the scale of what just happened.

"The Minister must respond to this," one witch said sharply. "He can't keep denying it now!"

But Cornelius Fudge was already in trouble. In the upper floors of the Ministry, his office was surrounded by shouting wizards and reporters. Every few minutes, an owl dropped another letter of protest demanding his resignation.

"We demand transparency, Minister!" cried one voice from outside. "You lied to us! The Dark Lord has returned!"

Fudge, pale and trembling, sank into his chair as Dumbledore words echoed in his mind. "He has returned, Cornelius."

For many months, he had denied it. For months, he had ridiculed Harry Potter and Dumbledore for "spreading hysteria." But now, with evidence undeniable, the tide had turned. The Wizengamot prepared a motion for a vote of no confidence.

Meanwhile, the atmosphere in Hogwarts was unlike anything the school had felt in years. The Daily Prophet had been delivered at breakfast and within minutes, the Great Hall was filled with gasps, whispers and clattering of dropped cutlery.

"Five people… dead?" whispered Seamus Finnigan, his eyes wide as he stared at the newspaper.

"It's true then," said Dean Thomas softly. "He's really back."

Across the table, Harry Potter sat silently. The other students looked at him, their expressions a mix of guilt, awe, and fear. For months, they had doubted him, whispered behind his back, called him a liar. But now, none of them could meet his eyes.

Finally, one Hufflepuff girl stood up and walked over to the Gryffindor table. "Harry Potter… I'm sorry," she said, her voice trembling. "We didn't believe you."

Harry looked at her for a moment, then smiled faintly. "It's all right," he said simply. "You believe now, that's what matters."

The entire hall fell into uneasy silence. Even the Slytherins, who usually smirked and rolled their eyes, looked uncertain. For the first time, doubt crept into their ranks.

At the Slytherin table, Draco Malfoy sat pale and stiff, the newspaper trembling in his hand. The words blurred before his eyes as he read them over and over.

"Lucius Malfoy Arrested — Accused of becoming a Death Eater."

His throat went dry. He had thought his father untouchable, powerful enough to slip through any accusation. But then, Marcus Flint, a Slytherin prefect, leaned close and whispered, "I saw him, Draco. Your father. He was dragged out by Aurors yesterday. They say he's going to Azkaban."

The fork fell from Draco hand. "No… they wouldn't…"

But the look in Flint eyes told him everything.

For once, Draco said nothing. He didn't sneer or threaten anyone. He just sat there, pale as a ghost, staring at his plate.

In the staff table, Professor McGonagall glanced worriedly at Harry, then turned to Dumbledore, who had just lowered his own copy of the Prophet. His expression was grim.

"It has begun again," he said softly, his blue eyes shadowed by sorrow.

"Yes," McGonagall whispered. "And the students…"

"They will need guidance," Dumbledore said. "And protection."

Throughout the castle, the tension grew heavier. Rumors spread like wildfire, some said Voldemort had attacked the Ministry himself, others whispered about an unknown wizard impersonating him. But regardless of the details, one truth had settled into everyone hearts, the war they all feared had begun now.

At St. Mungo's, Tonks woke up in a hospital bed filled with patient, her arm bandaged. She looked up at Kingsley, who was reading the newspaper beside her. "Five dead, huh?" she murmured weakly. "Guess the old days are back."

Kingsley gave her a small, grim smile. "Let's hope not," he said. "But it feels like they are."

Back at the Ministry, Amelia Bones stood before the Wizengamot as they prepared to vote. Fudge looked pale, sweat dripping down his forehead as the results came in.

"By a vote of people, Majority had decided," announced the scribe, "the motion of no confidence has passed."

Fudge sank in his chair. His reign was over.

And in the corridors of power, from Hogwarts to the Ministry, one name echoed in everyone's mind but they didn't dare to say his name. Voldemort has really returned,

The Dark Lord had returned and Britain would never be the same again.

Meanwhile Dudley, just eat his breakfast as usual he had prepared for this and he expect more people will join his extra class.

Right now his mind worked faster, he need to make sure that Amelia Bones safe because Amelia is one of the candidate who would be Minister of Magic.

There is one way, he need to get married with Susan Bones quickly so he could get access inside Bones mansion.
