Chapter 122: New Ministry Of Magic
Because of the incident where Voldemort attacked Bones Manor, Amelia Bones popularity skyrocketed to another level. Ninety percent of the votes went to her, and she was soon elected as the new Minister of Magic.
Under her leadership, the wizarding world began to change. The Auror Department received a larger budget, allowing them to hire more members. Even those bearing the Dark Mark were subjected to Veritaserum interrogation, regardless of blood status. Most remarkably, werewolves were finally offered employment within the Ministry.
There were many voices of opposition, but Amelia silenced them with a bold promise, she claimed to have found a way to stop werewolves from ever transforming again. If her plan succeeded, the Ministry would be obligated to approve her proposal. Curious and skeptical, they agreed, eager to see if she truly possessed the cure.
The inspiration, however, came from Dudley. After the attack on Bones Manor, he had shared an unexpected idea with her.
"Aunt, about the Wanky Lord werewolves, we can reduce his army by hiring them and stopping them from transforming," said Dudley.
Amelia blinked. "What do you mean, stopping them from transforming? Even the Wolfsbane Potion can't do that."
"Dudley, do we have a potion like that?" asked Harry.
Petunia and Vernon exchanged glances. They had heard about werewolves before, but not like this.
Dudley conjured an illusion of the Earth, moon, and sun.
"Aunt, do you know that the Earth is round? When one side has a full moon," he said, showing the illusion, "the other side of the Earth is in daylight. So, if those suffering from lycanthropy travel to the daytime side once a month, they can avoid transformation entirely."
His explanation made Amelia blink twice.
"Wait our Earth has day and night at the same time?" she asked in disbelief.
Petunia smiled and decided to explain further. "Amelia, as my son said, our planet is round and it orbits the sun. It's basic Muggle science."
Dudley then summoned a science book and handed it to her. "Aunt, this is a book about the solar system based on Muggle knowledge."
Amelia flipped through the pages, her eyes widening in astonishment.
"I never knew about this before," she murmured, before looking up at Dudley. "Your method might actually work. If I become Minister of Magic, I'll make this practice mandatory."
And true to her word, when she became Minister, she implemented the plan.
Everyone was shocked at first, believing she had invented a new potion. But during the trial, every registered werewolf was instructed to Apparate to another country, or use a Portkey if they lacked confidence to apparate out.
That night, not a single werewolf transformed. For the first time in their lives, they awoke free from the curse. When britain is almost night they apparated at Japan, then to another country and they sleep during the day .
The Daily Prophet soon spread the news across Britain and it spread to entire europe and the while country.
"The Cure for Lycanthropy Is Real and Free."
Those infected could now live without fear, so long as they stayed on the daylight side of the world.
THE CURE FOR LYCANTHROPY FOUND
A world of daylight and a world without the curse
In a groundbreaking innovation, the Ministry has confirmed that werewolves can permanently avoid transformation simply by traveling to the sunlit side of the planet during the full moon.
Minister Amelia Bones, who championed this method, declared it "a triumph of magical and scientific cooperation."
Formerly cursed individuals wept with joy as they still say sane and didn't transform for the whole. The werewolf community, once shunned and hunted, finally saw a future free from fear and the wizarding world witnessed something it had not seen in century, it is hope.
After this incident, every ministry give a free pass for anyone to travel to another country once a month. They are given permission to travel using portkey without needing approval during the day.
Every country started to adopt this method and the sell of wolfsbane finally plummeted because no one wanted to buy it anymore.
---Enemies Suffering---
As a new minister of magic, Amelia really use her power well. Now her vote is so high, there is almost no opposition on her side.
So she introduced a new policy after taking office, one that stirred both admiration from her supporter and unease from her enemies. According to her new policy, any confirmed Death Eater child must swear an Unbreakable Vow never to assist Voldemort or participate in dark activities of Death Eater. Failure or refusal to comply would result in suspicion, severe surveillance, and the loss of certain rights within the wizarding world.
The move was controversial, yet effective. It severed the bloodline influence of dark families and forced a new generation to choose between the shadows of their parents and the light of redemption.
For many, it was a painful transition. Draco Malfoy, for instance, suffered in silence as his father, Lucius, remained imprisoned in the Ministry's highest-security prison, Azkaban. Once a proud heir to an influential pure-blood family, Draco now carried the heavy stigma of his father crimes.
Others were not as "fortunate." Goyle, Crabbe, and Nott, their fathers had perished during the skirmish in a Bones Manor. Their deaths left behind not only grief but also the destruction of their families reputations. The sons, once groomed to follow in their parents' footsteps, now lived under constant watch, stripped of power, title, and wealth.
The battle had claimed many infamous Death Eaters, including the Carrow siblings, who were among the first to fall when Dudley intervened. Their deaths marked a turning point in the war, one that shook Voldemort ranks to the core.
Thanks to Dudley unexpected brilliance and courage, Voldemort lost a significant portion of his followers in a single night. It wasn't just a victory of strength, it was a strike against the ideology that had poisoned the wizarding world for decades.
For the first time after hearing Voldemort return, hope flickered across Britain and while Voldemort still lurked in the shadows, his grip on the magical world was no longer absolute, all because a muggleborn boy named Dudley Dursley.
